Thread Rolling Dies: Cylindrical Rolls VS Flat Dies

Both cylindrical rolls and flat dies are called thread rolling dies, but there are lots of differences between them. First of all, they are both thread-rolling dies used to create threads on rods, bolts and other similar objects.
The cylindrical rolls have a cylindrical shape that allows them to create threads on a cylindrical rod as it passes through them. They can either be two or three die rolls and are used for machines that can process longer rods.
Flat dies are used for shorter rods and have a flat surface with a thread-shaped notch that pinches the rod as it passes through.
But no matter the shape or size, both the cylindrical rolls and flat dies are crucial tools in the fastener industry.
