  • Sorry for posting another metal working project right after one... But this project connects to my previous video "Diy beltsander for dremel rotary tool". So, it has a reason.
    I decided to make this project in two pieces, (sorry).
    It would had been little too long to watch in one piece.
    After the part two is coming something very different.
    Its a my part of the co-op video made with Lazy Watchsmith.
    You can view his part of the video from here:

    Very impressive construction. Your skills with the angle grinder cutting those slits etc are really amazing. Just shows what plenty of practice can achieve.

    •  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      dav snow Thank you. Yep. I have used angle grinder nearly every day since year 2000.. So, im used to it. Someone asked me to make a video "How to cut.." What do you think, should i?

    • @BrassLock
      @BrassLock 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for your quick reply. The tricky part in cutting slots, as you have shown, is the risk of jamming the blade by angling it unintentionally. There is no room for error, and as you know, those blades fly to pieces very easily (my experience) 😯.
      So, yes it would be good to learn from your wealth of daily experience over the past 16 years or so. Man, that's a huge resource that we should encourage you to share. There are people like Diresta and John Heisz who have very impressive skilks with tools because they did it for years too.
      I'm sure you would caution people to not "copy" your style (as they also suggest in their videos), but to see how you do it as a form of inspiration or showing what a skilled person is capable of doing. Might be worthwhile getting some legal advice, so you can write a disclaimer that you're not responsible for kiddies cutting their fingers after watching your video.

    I'd love to fabricate this for my hobby work.. How much for a set of plans? Need to know dimensions..You really should patent this design and then write a How to build book in .pdf format which gives folks a license to build this for personal use.. Just so someone doesn't rip off your ideas and sell them to Dremel
    Protect you intellectual properly..

    would you consider helping me out I have a tiny lathe too and wanted up upgrade it but some parts I just don't have tools to make I know it's a big ask but you seem like the kinds guy like myself not having the money to buy something is never a hurdle it's always a fun challenge to make something that works well I have a few skills so if be happy to make you or the wife maybe something in return knives jewelry vaping stuff all kinds of things really I would be happy to show you some of my work via an emal or something .I love your design simple and strong and most of all it works so .I would be extremely gratful for some help in this next part of my project. nothing too hard just a few spacer type parts and a longer track to use as the bed no much tho anyways it's all really simple stuff in just an unemployed due to health dude in his shed. ran out of ideas for what I have available that's all .anyways awesome project nice work

      +Tuomas Soikkeli. awesome I like an ambitious guy lol yours it actually relly well made it's way more solid than almost every single other home made you tube jobbie iv seen mines a 38 quid beed lathe 9th eBay if made a box type ish chuck for it as it only had a 6mm max chuck and 50mm by 130 max work peice so I want to bring up the working hight to say 100mm 125mm and length to say 200mm maybe 300mm after you email me I'll send you pictures so you can see what parts it has and what's what. I see in your other video you said about making lathe tools I make my own lathe knives and chisel I make acrylic mouth peicea mostly and my handles on it and want it to be easyer. I also make leather working knives way sharper than a stanly blade .so I'd be happy to make you so in trade for your time and effort I'm sure we can come up with something anyways I'm a barter kinda guy
