Welcome to this elementary Mandarin class. I am Sisi Laoshi.
Grammar 1: Reduplication of Verbs
我问问老师。Wǒ wènwèn lǎoshī. I ask teacher.
我要回家休息休息。Wǒ yào huíjiā xiūxi xiūxi. I need go home to have a rest.
For he monosyllabic verbs, we can also use the form “verb 一 verb”
看一看kàn yī kàn = 看看 kànkan
说一说 shuō yī shuō = 说说 shuōshuo
But for the disyllabic verbs, you can not use the form "verb 一 verb"
The reduplicated verb is Indicated a short duration of an action or trying to do something, the function is similar to using “verb一下“
准备准备zhǔnbei zhǔnbei = 准备一下 zhǔnbèi yíxià (to prepare)
Grammar 2: Reduplication of Measure Words.
这些苹果个个都很大。Zhèxiē píngguǒ gègè dōu hěn dà. Each of these apples are very big.
这个星期我天天都吃羊肉。 Zhègè xīngqī wǒ tiāntiān chī yángròu. I ate lamb everyday this week.

can say A了A, for example 看了看,想了想 ... means the action has been compeleted.
