Very nice video, I like your straight forward way of explaining what you are doing and why. I used a relay to switch the HV to get it off that wafer switch, so far that's working well. I would like to know exactly where you put the diode on the meter? Also the 270ohm resistor on the filter cap has blown a couple time so beefed that up. Waiting for part 3, 73
The diode mod comes out on the next video with schematic. If the 270 ohm resistor is burning you have an issue that needs to be found. C31 and C34 are original values correct??
It would've added a lot to have examined the schematic with us viewers and explained where the new parts went, especially the rewired power cord, and other changes you have made.

Thanks for the video. What do you use to clean the band switch contacts? Regular contact cleaner, Tarnx or something else?
I start with 100% Deoxit. Never used Tarnx.
