Youre awesome btw, hope you can focus more on whats its used, what happens when its high or low rather than whats the cause which is usually the same as other major electrolytes.

A nurse gave me a potassium I.v. without diluting. It hurt and burned so bad my blood pressure went even higher. I asked how long i had to be hooked to the potassium I.v. she said 2 hours😳 i almost died of pain. She eventually came to dilute it. After adding a diluting I.v. the pain went away after about 15 minutes of excruciating pain. Has she abused me? I really feel like she has.

Yep that was a med error. But did you tell her it was excruciating? She should have stopped it as soon as you told her that.

@@copperlight yes I told her. She eventually came back with another bag after 15 min. I was swinging my arm and moaning loudly because it hurt. Do you think i have a case because my bloodpressure was up and she had me hurting which raised it even more.

Hi, where was the I.V. site? below elbow/ hand? Potassium is a Vessicant, and is gonna burn. the first 15min are the worst. Also, what were you in hospital for? the diagnosis makes a difference in how much it will feel like burning.
