The thing is that you’d rather ignore him and go for his backline in that match-up for basically most fights, which kinda sucks if you don’t got good follow up from your team and if the Mauga consistently can peel back and focus you. But honestly not a good match for hazard
I will say hazard is borderline broken when it comes to killing squishies plus a good wall can mess up any tank. Just gotta play this hero intelligently and i think he has a shot against any tank. I have found that a good doom is pretty hard to beat tho
Hazard is in a good place right now. Not as abhorrent as release mauga, and not weak either. That wall is really his saving grace though since he can use it to avoid a lot of CC abilities like with how Savvy consistently broke Cyx's hook. Might even have the potential to be unkillable if they play well enough since his block is on resource meter, contrary to Doom.
At least one useful thing you could maybe do against hog is try to peel for hooks by leaping to hog when he hooks an ally and slashing, that way you can boop him far enough to get in front and tank the shot. Granted he’s still getting value though but just at least maybe not killing someone
Hazards fun but kind of mediocre. Counters nothing, countered by half the roster, low damage, alright mobility, no barrier, probably will be either buffed or have a negative win rate on release. Edit: hazards out and was massively buffed. It seems blizzard agreeded he needed help and now he feels Op unless hard countered XD
after watching the Hazard game play by Cyx and Zbra, I feel like Hazard is more powerful if you play it like a doomfist. Especially if you shift into a squishy and slash them. You can instant kill them with a follow up melee. I tried to play him like a roadhog and it doesn't seem powerful since you can't get a lot of value by shooting the enemy tank. Your primary fire does too less dmg compare to hog. You gotta go for their supports, slash them, block them with your wall and then get out. Just a thought.
It looks like the problem is that he is a brawl/dive hybrid but everyone is playing him brawl only. I think people need to flank and take angles more with him rather than play him as a frontline, objective type, especially when he's being countered by long range pokes and his counters. He seems like a space maker, like Doomfist. Another thing is I don't see people use his wall climb nearly enough.
I will accept that hog may be a counter swap for him, but I don’t think people really need to worry about that too much because a lot of people don’t know how to play hog. It’s like switching to Zara to fight diva but a lot of people don’t know how to play Zara I’ve seen people try to counter swap to Zara and then try to fight me long range like literally the whole time I just defense matrix and Zara just fell over
I have had so much fun during his trail bullying them with Orisa! They struggle to do anything lol I think he’ll shine in 6v6, but as a solo tank, I am unsure.
They need to tweak his primary. Either give him more ammo or some sort of bleed damage. Not enough damage. Also his melee should be more damage. He’s too in your face, not enough sustain or escape to not be able to shred a hog
Yeah his primary needs a little bit more damage. Not so much that he's a tank buster, but for a shotgun to only do 60 damage per shot it feels pretty bad.

he has no place in this meta he doesnt do anything unique any other hero cant do or do better. and his damage is awful if your not hitting headshots

i have found that roadhog and dva counter. dva can eat almost all of his attacts and can just fly away when he slashes
