Smart and talented man, by interviewing you he didn’t have to answer the same questions asked a thousand times he found out if you were just a pretty face or a real car person and controlled the conversation.
I worked with Chip on Overhaulin’ and he is one of the most genuine and down to earth people in the industry. We were at the paint shop for a build and I pulled up in my ‘63 Biscayne (injected 502 big block) and as soon as he heard me rumble up he came out to check it out. While he was checking out the engine he asked if I had a wrench and the next thing I knew he was perfecting the alignment on my hoot to get the gaps perfect-something I would have never expected. Awesome guy and great interview you did with him!
I met Chip once in Vegas, I was exiting the Venetian and ran into him. He was every bit as humble as everyone describes, he took the time to have a brief chat when most would have not. He is every bit a legend as a human being.
I love how he so smoothly flipped that interview around and interviewed you instead. Man has been interviewed so many times. Truly shows his heart by nonverbally saying “y’all know everything you need to know about me. I want to know about you.”
Emily, your genuineness is so lovely. It is so nice to see people who are real, open and true. Neither you or Aaron do anything for a video that you wouldn't do in your everyday life. I know that I have said this before, but you two make it worthwhile to say again. Keep being you. Rock on people
Chip Foose is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met too, I did a couple of the progeria Year One Braselton bashes in Georgia back in 2010 & 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed chatting with him both times.
You are spot on with your comments about unity in our country. Once we lay our differences aside we still have a great nation. Yet our differences are what makes us great.
Emily, You are always smiling, but seeing you in situations like this is extra special. You get that little girl sparkle in your eyes with a big Texas smile. I hope Aaron was with you and had a chance to meet Chip.
Chip is a legend. I love his TV shows but I just always felt and saw he was much bigger than “reality tv”. Your meeting with him was epic. Him flipping the scrip to talk more and you is classic Foose. He’s talked himself out of talking about himself, I definitely understand you being more interesting than talking about him again. Plus he was truly interested in your answers. Great video with great people.
Emily and Arron , I had a full knee replacement a couple of week ago and was getting really bummed with just being idle until I found your channel and it has made the time fly by. It has help my rehab go by very quickly. Whenever, I have had minor problems, Emily upbeat personality got me through, so big thanks keep it up, and I will continue watching, can't wait to see what happens to the cars you got from Dicky.
Met chip this year, and I couldn't believe how nice and personable he was. He took as much time as everyone wanted, answered all of the questions, and was so genuine
Never have I seen your eyes light up so much. Always wanted to meet Chip myself, I was honored to meet Craig Bridlove not sure of that spelling in 1966 at his shop in Torrance California. Had his whole family in there working.
James Shugart Years ago when I worked at Clifford Research we made headers for 4 and 6 cyl. vech. Craig Breedlove's son worked there for awhile. It's been Way to many years and I don't remember what his name was. 6=8.
This is why I love y’all so much you’re just so cute Chip got you all flustered He is such a kind human being and down to earth guy just like you and Aaron
Chip is an amazing gentleman! A real good person. I met him in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia!! Such a cool opportunity to meet him and get a signed drawing from him 🔥
i;ve wanted to meet both you kid's from the beginning. i live 80 miles away from iola, used to go all the time to help friends sell. if i kno 1 or both of you will b there next year. i;ll make those plans now. i am the one who says (chic's rule) luv u both.
Met Chip in the airport in Arizona. Really is a genuinely great guy. Told him I paint cars and he spent a few minutes talking with me about it and I could tell he actually cared about what I had to say haha. Chips a good dude
Watching Overhaulin back in the day was incredible and Chip is a pioneer in the field who actually does the work and shows it unlike so many other shows, even the last season more recently it was still a step above anything else and the guy just brings joy and learning along with his legendary partners in crime :-) Thanks Emily for sharing!
I'm going to tell you a very abbreviated story. Back in 2011, Minot ND suffered a serious flood, and I went there as part of a mold remediation team. Cut to the chase. We had set up camp (by permission, long story) at Minot High School, and on the second evening there, the football season began with the Minot Magicians hosting a HS team from Fargo. So the National Anthem was played (by a lone saxophone) with a color guard in attendance. At the end of the Anthem, I was expecting a big shout with the spectators taking their seats. But instead, everyone -- from the little kids to every one of the students to all the adult spectators -- EVERYONE stood SILENTLY as the color guard marched to the end of the track and about-faced. Total absolute reverent silence. It was about RESPECT, for our flag, our country and our principles. I was shocked. We don't do that back in Western Oregon, and maybe we should. At least our values and our nation are still honored to such a degree in some places. I'll never forget it. Chip Foose is a one-off. an extreme rarity -- a craftsman and a gentleman. And I never watched Overhaulin' for the babes.
Two awesome people in the same place at the same time. Okay three awesome people. Chip, Emily and Aaron. Each of you are spectacular in your own ways. This video of a co-interview between Emily and Chip is a keeper.
Hey Emily! My husband and I watch your channel all the time. As soon as he found you guys, he said "George you gotta see these two, they have the auto disease just like us" LOL So pleased you had a great time with Chip. He's a modest lovely person who we have had the luck to meet several times. We live in a small town east of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, but winter in a small community in So Cal. Chip's Dad was a member of one of the car clubs we were members of. When someone brought a guest, the exec would ask them to say who was visiting. Chip's Dad would say, "My son's here with me tonight" And we'd all laugh. Chip was always gracious and so accommodating when people spoke to him & asked him questions. Good on him for flipping the roles & interviewing you. Women gear heads are not a common occurrence & you're quite engaging, so why not! P.S. You really *DO* need to do get your pilot's license! ;)
I love your videos, and thanks for having Cummins as a sponsor, I have worked for them for 18 years assembling the 5.9 and now the 6.7 engine for Ram . Keep up the great work.
Chip puts the H in humble and the G in grateful. Had the pleasure to meet him and his family several times. Chip really goes by the adage, " people my not remember what you said but they always remember how you made them feel".
I’m sure there will be plenty of comments like mine, I had the honor of meeting Chip and like he did you he asked about me, cars and everything. I will say he’s a genuine man, kind hearted and super approachable. We talked for 10 minutes and I walked away an even bigger fan. Loved how this interview went Emily.
I met Chip Foose at the World of Wheels at the Rosemont IL about 15 years ago and I was with a female friend in a wheel. Chip came up to ask my friend in the wheelchair what is her favorite car and she said a 1957 Chevy before you know it he draw it and gave it to her. Yes....he is a great guy
Had to watch the interview twice. It was so kool! To watch it twice even! Chip has a gift for reading folks. You look like your were enjoying yourself interviewing Chip. With Chip interviewing you!
Hello Emily this was an EXCELLENT interview you did with with Chip Foose. I loved Overhauling too and very much agree with your point about your love of cars and how they bring people together! That said I would love to see you and Aaron get going on the 57 Chevy you got from Dickie's yard and maybe another trip back there too!! Greg
Awesome guy! Always loved watching his show.. Congrats to you lady!! The hair tie was totally you!! Beautiful !! You all have a great weekend!! Keep rollin!! 🚙
I've given up asking "why?" .... I just know that good people seem to find each other... You, Emily finding Aaron and then this quick interview with Chip Foose! I know that Chip is probably the hardest working person in the automotive industry and added to this, his vision and artistic skills and to top it all off.... He's such a Generous, Genuine Gentleman..... Lovely interview!!! 👍👍✊
That was one of my saddest days ever...not making it there on Saturday. I WILL make it there next year! It would've been great to meet you again, and drool over all the cars there. For people just reading my comment, Emily and Aaron are two of the most down to earth, enjoyable people to be around! The positive energy Emily brings with her in person, is unreal. I really think Chip Foose saw it too!
Congrats on the interview with Chip Foose. He has literally been in the automobile business since childhood because his dad owned a shop. He has found that being a polite person can make ones' life easier and he has nothing to prove to us concerning our hobby. Your and Chip's enthusiasm for our hobby motivates others to acquire and build something.
My favorite memory of Chip was at Good Guys columbus ohio. I was talking to Troy Trepanier and up walks Chip. They start chatting about upcoming builds and solving a problem on the build. Troy then pulls out a dvd about one of his top builds and starts showing Chip how he did it. I am am just a fly on the wall taking it all in. I enjoyed seeing my 2 favorite builders be car guys talking about a build like my buddies and I do and generally just be average car guys. I could tell that Both Chip and Troy are Genuine good people!
Emily this was an awesome episode sharing your interview with Chip. He really does show a sincere interest in your love of cars. You did a fantastic job interviewing him! Your energy and enthusiasm for cars really comes through on your videos!! You should reach out to him to see if you can do a longer second video with him.
Car people are a different breed. We love our cars and we love our country. You and Chip are no different than most of us in a lot of ways. Chip has incredible talent and you are have talent and are very pretty so you are one up on Foose. Other than that we are all peas in a pod.
Hi Emily: I loved this video, Chip is truly a great guy, He is extremely talented and of course an awesome custom car designer/builder and a good business man as well. Very interesting how he smoothly flipped the interview towards you Emily. I noticed a lot of direct eye contact and sparkle from that moment on. Chip Foose is a very wealthy man , but he never brags about it. I like his cool modest attitude. You're very good with interviewing people Emily, your personality is extremely charming. I would enjoy seeing more videos like this one from time to time. Thank you So much . Blessings to you and your Family.
I'm just going to say it. Who is that babe in the dress? That's one of the best interviews I have seen. You really seem to be enjoying yourself. A lot of people speak highly of Chip. Thank you for taking the time to share that with us.
Well dang. You were only 425 miles from me in Salt Lake City. Glad you enjoyed Las Vegas. I saw Chip Foose in John Force's pit in Las Vegas back in the early 2000's. He's awesome and very talented. I'm a huge Overhaulin' fan. Even my wife liked to watch it and she's not into cars. She enjoyed the heartwarming stories.
so awesome!!!! I was just at a car show the other day in mcarthur and had couple people regonize me from youtube lol I was so excited, one of the cars even came from minnesota, was my buddy stus first car show he ever put on
Met him a few times over the years, he is a very humble person and will take the time out of his busy day to make yours special. I bet Aaron had to peel Emily off the ceiling afterwards !! I am about sick of this 114 degree and want some cooler temps.
Thank you for sharing this. I also have watched Overhauling all seasons. I love how he made the drawings come to life all the way up to the customer getting the keys.
Foose,,,Boyd,,,,and Jessie James are my inspiration ,,,grew up around cars all my life,,I'm in my 50s,,,and seeing the younger generation in to hot rods ,,just cars in general,,,brings a tear to my eye,,,or the dust from the garage floor lol....🤓💯🇺🇲🍺🍕
I too met chip in Louisville a couple years back. Also met you this year hot rod powertour.. Talk to you for a bit by the water in Pensacola while we're Waiting on our table to eat... thanks. Life is good.
Smart and talented man, by interviewing you he didn’t have to answer the same questions asked a thousand times he found out if you were just a pretty face or a real car person and controlled the conversation.
Thank you for posting this comment. I do not know Chip at all and I was trying not to think negatively about him, but yep. I saw the same thing.
