      Listen Jack! Biden doesnt need to do anything for the black vote because one time he was the only white guy working at a public pool and then he and cornpop got into it, but then it all worked out and then he worked for a black dude who worked in the white house and............ what was the question again? Oh I dont know....

      Eh Bernie would’ve lost either way. Too many forces working against him. But that doesn’t excuse the fact that he absolutely should’ve attacked joe harder.
      Letting Joe lie about his record on stage, and then afterwards calling him your friend and endorsing him is the most cucked shit imaginable, and actually calls into question Bernie’s trustworthiness

    The reason Marcus Aurelius was the last of the good Roman emperors was because he was a beta swot who got the job on merit for being very clever and conscientious, because the previous emperor, in a tradition going back three emperors, hadn't had a family and adopted a son to provide a good office holder. Then his subsequent life history and his Meditations bear this out, because he was constantly hurt by being underestimated and disobeyed and rebelled against by dumber guys with more charisma, which he dealt with through Stoic philosophy and methodical hard work.

    • @RoyalFusilier
      @RoyalFusilier 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That 'I'll adopt a son who I think is actually good instead of trusting the genetic lottery' thing really deserved to be used more throughout empires and dynasties. It helps at least try to address one of the primary issues with inheritance; the very lax job standards, since all you need to do to get the job is 'be born'.

    • @patrickholt2270
      @patrickholt2270 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@RoyalFusilier That's in the nature of monarchy in the first place. The de facto system under the "Five Good Emperors" was just the accident of infertility and homosexuality. It came to an end because Marcus Aurelius had a happy marriage and a healthy son, the evil sonofabitch Commodus, and he ensured Commodus would rule after him rather than get executed by whoever else to protect his rule from being toppled by backers of Commodus. The saying of whichever Pope it was comes to mind "do you know, my son, with what little wisdom the world is ruled?" What is required to get to be allowed executive power is entirely different from what is required to do the job well, especially to rule for the benefit of ordinary people. This is why I back direct democracy rather than anything else. Power should be in the hands of as many people as possible, for more sensible and non-sociopathic decision-making.

I hate Trump, but I hate the DNC and Democratic establishment and liberal media just as much. I'll still vote (D) on all the lesser offices but I will absolutely not vote for Biden. The Democratic sheeple absolutely deserve another 4 years of the orange monster. (They still won't learn anything though, and will never comprehend how corrupt, biased and neoliberal the DNC is.)

      Yeah. As Matt would say, material conditions have finally worsened for me to the point where I have no investment left in the system. That happens at a faster rate for young people generally because of the wealth gaps and lack of opportunity, etc, but it's coming for all of us. Hopefully. If everyone decides 'this is fucking stupid', I don't know what happens next, but it won't be more Joe Bidens.

      Fusilier Can I speak on it, fam? If I'm being completely honest, I think it has to do with her being brought up around evangelicals and shit. Her upbringing probably did give her a solidarity with working class people that is unambiguously a positive, but she clearly has yet to shed some of her socially conservative tendencies. I'm also highly suspect of her cultural understanding of working class people at this point. Like...maybe it's the peculiarity of Appalachian culture or whatever, but for example, the thing on the recent Sorkin episode where she said conservatives dislike animal cruelty and therefore it should be easy for them to support animal welfare causes... I almost laughed out loud when I heard that, it's such a ridiculous statement on the face of it. As someone who has lived in an extremely conservative rural community for most of his life, my experience has been that, sure, most of them dislike the idea of kicking dogs or leaving them in hot cars or whatever, like most normal people do. But that doesn't translate to a hatred of factory farming or the meat industry...not AT ALL. They're too invested in meat consumption as a culture war issue. They'd rather just not think about the what goes into it (to be fair, just like most of us).
      Then again, I grew up around farmers, so maybe my experience is actually the outlier. But I don't think it is. Idk

      @@TheCyborgk I'm not trying to criticize people's coping mechanisms, I'm criticizing inaction. At some point the left is going to have to start doing something. And I don't claim to know what that is, necessarily. I think that's the first action we need to take, figuring out what action to take.

      @@Who-vt9oh I agree that we shouldnt sit on our thumbs and not do anything, but as far as the 2020 election is concerned.... the cards are dealt. Its biden or trump. If you are fired up, I would recommend trying to get a progressive in a local seat, the house, and/or the senate. But thats just my take on the situation....

    I wish I could listen but all the ‘like’s make it difficult. ‘Like Joe like Biden like ... like ... like. ‘

      Might I suggest 'getting over the fact that people have verbal tics'? Worked wonders for me in the past.

    How the F you talk about Breakfast Club presidential candidate interviews, then mention "securing the bag," and then not mention Andrew Yang doing multiple Breakfast Club interviews (and crushing them)?

      This is how humans talk. They pause, they use filler words to give themselves time to make sure their train of thought tracks
      You do it too.
