Yea… it melted my heart when they were talking to their friends and they said gardening with dad was one of their favorite things to do… thanks for watching!!
@@basementfigs I’m in SW MIchigan and I would like to get anything I don’t already have. I guess let me know what You have available and we go from there Homer.
@@FiggarigLarry I’ll make a tour video at the end of the season, and go thru my collection. I can always set you an airlayer next season and we can meet up!
Good video. Love seeing the girls helping. My two girls have no interest in helping. Hopefully after we've had some fresh they will show some interest. Good looking fig trees. I need one of those hand scoops. Thanks for sharing.
I looked through the comments for an answer to the question of the day regarding the white pith. But the answer is a matter of ripening , if those figs had stayed on another day or two they would have ripened more and the white would have all but disappeared. At least that is the most common mistake I've run into. Man i wish there were people close by to share my hobby with. I'll get you guys tickets and you can fly down here for a consultation, i wish right.
I enjoy watching ppl growing fig trees. My trees took a worse for the season. Local farmer sprayed round up on the field and the wind blew it on my trees. I saved a few of them, but there will be no fig fruit for me this year. Other than store bought ones. Not the same.
I'm in illinois and i just purchased my first fig trees Strack Brothers 5' tall LSU Hold and the Italian hardy. Just potted them yesterday. Looking to purchase some other varieties but i can't seem to find a local grower
@basementfigs I'm new to the hobby, and I've watched a few content creators videos and randomly Google them, so I'm not 100% sure just yet. Still learning lol. I wish I could do a taste test to get a better idea. Right now, I'm just shooting in thw dark lol
If I would restart hobby today… I would own Smith, Ronde de Bordeaux, Black Celeste, and and any green fig… Angelito, White Madeira, Strawberry Verte and etc… I think 99% of Midwest growers would agree with that list.
Great collection. Great wholesome video. Thanks for sharing.

Do you sell fug cuttings at the end of season?
Yes… it’s almost time
Do you know how to garden? 🤣🤣👌
lol!! I had to keep that in!!
Your Socorro black look more like black zadar
Black Zadar is more squat and distinguishable by the skin color. I had Socorro Black but smaller in size. I’m not sure. Wasn’t my fig tree.
