    Today I tried it I have one question - when I hold the device at the black rubber bottom side areas as written tn the manual it blinks for live wire detection a lot frequently even in not logical palces. When I hold it a little bit upperon the green coloured side places it detects only when I am more convincet there is a live wire because it is at the top of the switch for example. Can you tell my why this is happening and am I right?

      Hi Boris, there are areas where engineers can install live wiring behind the wall according to BS7671. Horizontally and vertically on switches and sockets and 150 mm from wall corners and ceilings ( not coving) these are your electrical safety zones and you would expect wiring to be installed in the safety zones. However in the non electrical safety zones which are outside of these areas .
      You wouldn’t expect to find wiring in these zones ideally but there are exceptions to the rule that needs to be adhered to if perchance engineers decide to install in these areas. In these areas ( non electrical safety zones) wires or cables must be over 50 mm below the surface. If the wall is made of metal it will need RCD protection.
      The cables would be armoured with an earthed armour or metal sheath, should be in metal trunking and should have protection from at least 3 mm steel.
      So hence why you may may detect cables in areas outside of where you would expect to have live wiring. Also remember it scans to a certain depth so if buried deeper device may give you intermittent readings.
      The device is not built as a one size fits all but a detection guide to an nth degree w.r.t to finding live cables, studs, metal pipes and dense materials as opposed to a craftsman drilling blindly using tribal knowledge.
      Click on the link in the description on how to use the device and safety zones. There would be subsequent videos that would be published soonest which addresses the questions raised here in-depth. I hope this answers your question . Don’t forget to subscribe and share. Have a good one and great week

      @@UtechUreview Thank you very much for the detailed answer. You answered all the questions but one is still wondering me - I am not touching the sensor infront but depending on which side I hold the device - it can go mad detecting live wires or detect only the "electrical safety zones". In the user manual I read that sometimes if the wall is not good earthed the sensor can do this and you can put the other hand 20-30 sm next to the device and will be more accurate. I tried this and it gave me similar results as the "better holding" the device.
      If there is an electrical source deeper than 50mm it won`t bothem me because I am planning to drill around 40mm holes.
      And for sure will check the other video and will subscribe, thanks again :)

    You can’t imagine how this piece of kit change me life. It used to be hit and miss drilling wall holes until I came across this great vid. Glad I didn’t screw up any pipes in the past or ran through live wiring. Thanks so much. Got me tool box updated. Muahxx

    Them two devices work like a beast for detecting studs and pipes although sometimes can be sensitive but do an overall pretty good job at ensuring I wasn’t drilling blindfolded. Thanks lovexx❤️❤️❤️

    have you perhaps tried to find a live wire between two reinforcement nets in the concrete? I have a specific scenario where the drywall will be installed on the ceiling but the wires are in the concrete plate made with two rows of reinforcement metal nets. Between them, there is a plastic canal where the wires go trough.
    To avoid drilling holes for the drywall trough those plastic canals, it would be of much help if some detector can see wires trough concrete and behind metal reinforcement net.
    Do you know if this or some other detector is capable of doing that?

    My falls are concrete consteuction and on one of the big walls the device is showing live wire absolutely everywhere. What can be the cause and how can I bore safely?

    • @UtechUreview
      @UtechUreview  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There could be a few reasons for this. One possibility is that there might be electrical wiring behind the wall that is causing the detector to pick up the live wire signal. Another possibility is that there could be some interference or false readings that are causing the detector to give inaccurate results. It's always a good idea to double-check with a professional electrician to ensure accurate readings and to address any potential safety concerns. Don’t forget to subscribe, like and share.
