    I made two custom roles to the game, Coward and Hypnotist. When you are the Coward you are so scared of dying that anytime you are faced with death, you get a chance to run away. This is done by either playing rock, paper scissors with the moderator or by tossing a coin. If the moderator wins, the coward dies. If the coward wins, he survives. As for the hypnotist, each night he chooses a player to be hypnotized. That player must then vote the same way as the hypnotist. When the players wake up the moderator will say which player is hypnotized and during the lynching the moderator will look at the the hypnotist's vote and will tell the hypnotized player what his/ her vote should be. He cannot choose the same player each night.

    For everyone that’s confused about the Hunter pack
    Mystic Seer: Learn a player’s exact role
    Alpha Wolf: Upon an elimination of a werewolf, They can use their power once per game to change the werewolf’s target into a werewolf instead of eliminating them
    Mentalist: Learn if two players are on the same team
    Revealer: Choose a player to reveal, if they’re a werewolf, they’re eliminated. If not, you’re eliminated
    Huntress: Choose to eliminate a player once per game
    Mad bomber: Once eliminated, the players adjacent to them are also eliminated

    The three other characters should be:
    The Vigilante, who can shoot players up to three times at night but commits suicide the following night if they kill a someone on the village team. The Vigilante is on the village team.
    The Arsonist, who can either douse a player each night or ignite all doused targets (he cannot be killed at night). The Arsonist is on his own team.
    The Serial Killer, who kills a player each night like the werewolves (he also cannot be killed at night). The Serial Killer is on his own team.
    Also, what is up with the Masons not being allowed to refer to each other during the day? That takes a lot of the advantage of having Masons away.

    • @MeepleUniversity
      @MeepleUniversity  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That sounds good. Im pretty sure I played a game where the host had a Serial Killer that is similar to what you said. He is pretty good,he often creates new character.
      Haha I know, sometimes it is hard to be Masons, it has its own advantages I reckon, just comes with caveat like so!
      Vigilante is hard, 3 players, he needs to pick the werewolves, but I like it!
      The Arsonist sounds like a good one too.
      Thanks for watching and the comments :). Cheers, Stella.

      @@MeepleUniversity I still don't understand how Vampires work. Our group wants to incorporate them in-game.

    • @MeepleUniversity
      @MeepleUniversity  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoJ0estar If you want to just play villagers vs vampires, the simplest way to think of them is to treat them as you would the werewolves; but, instead of the moderator announcing the targeted player's death at the end of the night phase, it is announced prior to the defenses and lynchings (the player targeted by the vampires will still take part in conversations during the day before being eliminated).
      If you want to play villagers vs vampires vs werewolves, you also apply the rule that if werewolves target vampires in the night, the targeted vampire does not die (to the confusion of the werewolves). This gives the werewolves information on who they want to try to lynch, but of course they can't say "we tried to eat him overnight and he didn't die so he must be a vampire" because that implicates them as a werewolf. A nice extra layer to the game.
      For roles like the seer, there's no hard and fast way to handle the introduction of the vampires; so just roll with what your moderator tells you; or (if you're moderating) pick what you think will work best and see how it plays.

    Gangster:His goal is to be the last player alive alone he can kill someone 2 times once per game but he has to pick a partner for his gang his/her role is changed to partner he/she can pick who to kill too and has double voted of who to kill
    Masked:Can switch roles each night and to be the last player alone if he/she dies by getting voted out she can switch his/her card to someone else after he/she dies

    My own role: The Medium
    The Medium may ask a question to the dead people. The dead people are only allowed to answer it with 1 word. Just 1 word.
    My own version of the Diseased:
    Any players that use their ability on it gets diseased. Players who are diseased for more than 2 nights die. To get rid of being diseased, you must be: Protected by the Priest/Bodyguard, or saved by the Witch.
    The Diseased automatically dies in the 3rd night.

    What do the numbers mean in the bottom right of each card?

    • @MeepleUniversity
      @MeepleUniversity  4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Hi Trickster712, thanks for watching! Those numbers are meant to help moderators when they are selecting combinations of roles for their games. If the sum of all roles in the game adds up to zero, then it should be a fairly well balanced game. The more positive the number, the more tilted towards the villagers; the more negative, the more tilted towards the werewolves. They don't serve any gameplay function.

      @Shy Guy not quite. With every card in the deck, the sum is -117. So the villagers are in some trouble.

  • @Air_is_better
    @Air_is_better 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    My version of Priest: Cleanse a player.
    Cleanse: Alter's a player's identity. The priest can change a werewolf into a villager, but if they choose someone on the villager team, that player will become a werewolf. They're not allowed to cleanse themself.

  • @t0astygh0stt
    @t0astygh0stt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I feel like calling the witch the wizard, due to a rule (idk if this is just making something preexistent more extra or if it isn’t official) that anyone who shows their physical card will be killed automatically under the assumption that they are a witch. I know more witches died via hanging, but I’m going to say the “witches” are burnt at the stake to make it completely separate from the lynching.
    Also, and this is 100% a role I stole from a movie, the Medium (I’ve seen one with the exact same name but with a different meaning somewhere in this comment section if I’m not mistaken), which can see the role of a deceased player (werewolf or villager, not their exact role, like the Seer but for dead people), as well as the Mage (I think this wasn’t stolen but I’m not 100% sure), who can bring a dead player back to life (of course only once per game, otherwise it’d be too overpowered), but unless the Medium reveals as such they don’t know the deceased’s role, and it’s possible they could bring back a werewolf, vampire, etc.

    1. Spellcaster: Does the chosen player only cannot speak during the discussion or also cannot vote?
    2. Spellcaster & old hag: You mentioned that those roles only can affect every player once per game, but what if after some rounds, the only player left has been chosen before? Do they unable to use their power?
    3. Im still confused about the troublemaker. So the troublemaker can add extra nominee?
    4. Drunk: Is there any other rule regarding what role to give? Or I can give anything besides the initial night roles, no matter how much it may affect the balance of both teams (e.g. Cult Leader, Aura Seer, Witch, etc)
    5. Hunter: You mentioned if the hunter is killed during the day phase, the mod will ask openly. But what if I'm using no reveal rule? Doesn't it giving away information about the remaining role?
    I'm sorry if I'm asking too much. Really grateful if you can reply. I also thank everyone who can help ✌✌

    Requires a D20 dice. Moderator rolls for DM and a 1 eliminates himself, 20 eliminates a werewolf at random, and anything in between is something I haven't thought of yet, but can be changed by the mod for their own choosing. Is part of the villager team.

For an idea of what this could look like search for the youtube video "Who The Hell Is The Werewolf? If there's only Lone wolf and tanner, who win? If Lone wolf Kill tanner, tanner win. But if tanner ia assumed like a village, so Lone wolf win. Or both can win?
    I argued with my friends all day.

    • @MeepleUniversity
      @MeepleUniversity  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Achmad, thanks for your question. Usually when there are players with non-standard win conditions then the moderator should allow for both players to win.
      By the letter of the rule book, the Lone Wolf wins either by being the last player alive, or by being the only wolf left in a village with only one other villager. So the Lone Wolf would definitely be a winner in your scenario.
      For the Tanner, though, it depends a lot on how your moderator declares the end game. If the game is allowed to go until one team is wiped out, then the tanner will be killed by the lone wolf and would therefore win. If the moderator ends the game when an overrun scenario exists (i.e. game over as soon as werewolves match or outnumber villagers), then the moderator would either say "the tanner is alive at the moment the game ends, therefore the tanner losers", or could say "the werewolves overran the village and thematically the tanner was eaten after the game ends, therefore the tanner wins".
      The most important thing is that if you're playing the "if the tanner wins, everyone else loses" variant, then the moderator can't include the lone wolf, or any other role whose win condition would require the tanner to be killed.

      The vampires' target dies when someone gets nominated, regardless of whether it is the targeted player who is nominated or someone else. Essentially, unlike the werewolves' target (who is announced at the start of the day), the vampires' target is announced nearer the end of the day.

      The moderator should tell the victim (silently) at the end of the night phase that they were bitten by the vampire. (Which makes sense - you'd wake up to see the bite marks). You can then conceal or reveal to the rest of the village depending on how you want to play it.

      Once per game, the Troublemaker "makes trouble", which is stirring up anger in the village such that they want to kill more potential werewolves.
      In practice: each night, the moderator asks whether the Troublemaker wants to make trouble.
      If the troublemaker says yes, then there will be two votes and possibly two executions this round instead of one
      The moderator can choose to announce this either at the start of the day (when everyone wakes up) or after the first vote.
      Either way, the conversation starts again until you have two new nominations, then another vote.

    Can you please recommend me roles for 15 players not including the moderator?

      For a medium difficulty game with several roles, but not too many difficult ones, try:
      Werewolf
      Werewolf
      Villager
      Villager
      Villager
      Minion
      Seer
      Witch
      Bodyguard
      Troublemaker
      Mason
      Mason
      Pacifist
      Lycan
      Drunk
      Then have the drunk turn into the prince, or into a werewolf if a werewolf is eliminated early.

    Every player has been eliminated, should moderator reveal that player?
