I have the X600 Pro-4 Chipclock 400 MHz and Memory Clock only 250 MHZ (500 MHZ) isntead of 600 MHz. I think its not a big deal. This card performs not really well and thes 256 MB DDR Memory doesn't make sense for a weak Chip (only an very few games)... even a X700 Pro with 256 MB doesn't worth it that much. 256 MB helps a lot if you got card like radeon X800 or Geforce 6800. Under this cards you can also have 128 MB Memory and its enough. For a retro Card from 2004/2005 i would definetely recommend a Geforce 6600 GT or at least a Radeon X700 Pro (Better get the RAdeon X800 if you can find it cheap) Geforce 6600 is also better its faster then X600 Pro around 20% and faster then X600XT too. 6600 has 8 Pixel Shaders and 3 Vertex Shaders this is waht makes the better performance X600 Pro has only 4 Pixel Shaders and 2 vertex Shaders... you can get the 6600 cheap but my recommandation at all ist 7600 GS it has the equal performance then 6800 and its cheap to get it:) with 7600 GS you can play 2004/ 2005 games well. Not with higest Settings but with High Settings. Its not much better then 6600 Gt but a little bit faster. Unfortunately the Geforce 7 Series suffers on quality in Texture...
@@retro4fun358 i mostly agree with you and thanks a lot for your comment! I had a 7600 GS but it was dead and I couldn't get it fixed and I threw it away. I have cards from the 8000 serie. I have a 8800 gt 8500 gt and 8400 GS. I also had a 7200 GS that also died. I've never really used a 7000 card and I've never had a 6000 card before but I have researched them a bit, I know they're out there. Im currently looking for a pci graphics card for my pentium 1 motherboard. Something from the same time as that board. Maybe you can help me out. Thanks!
@@rubenphonecollector2533 my oldest PC is from March 2000 Pentium 3 667 MHZ . I can't help for older systems or graphics because i haven't the Knowledge of them unfurtunately. It depends what you want. I know that it is very hard to find some old good graphic cards cor a cheap price. I was in lucky that i have found a Geforce 2Ti for 15€ +Delivery costs for 20€. Starting with a retro System P3 like my sytsem or similar P3 667MHZ or 733 /800. you should get a Riva TNT 2 Pro but its expensive so i would go for a Geforce 2 MX card its the best performance and cheapest price! If you say i need a great performance you can get a normal TNT 2 and you shoul dbe finde payable cards with normal prices. I can only say if you want retro system P3 1,3 GHZ or P4 1,6/1,8 GHz the best and cheapest choice ist the Geforce 2MX 400 with 6MB SDR,. you will find them often fpr 5-10€ Aus sV7100 is a Geforce 2 MX card wth 32 MB you can find them often fpr 5-8€ great card from fall 2000 and performs not bad. of Course Geforce 2 GTS or 2 Ti is better but ist very hard to find them cheap and you will need luck... If you want build aPC system with P4 2,4/ 2,8 GHZ the best Choice will be Geforce 4 Ti 4200 or Radeon 9600 Pro/XT but this card isn't that cheeap unfortunately costs around 20-30€. Alternative Geforce FX 5600 has the similar of the Performanc eof the Geforce 4 Ti 4200. A Retro PC with P4 3,2- 3,6 GHZ or ATlon64 3500/ 3700+ i would recoomend Geforce 6600 GT or 7600 GS its almost equal this cards in terms of performance. radeon X700 Pro will be a solid card too for this system. X800 card would be even better but they are more expensice... A Retro System with Core 2 Duo E6600 or Atlon X2 4200-4600 i would choose Geforce 7600 GT its pretty cheap and habe a performance equal like Radeon X800 XT. Its faster then Geforce 6800 GT/GS. Or you get for ths system a Geforce 8600 GTS this would probably the best:) you can also go for 8800 GT but this CPU will bootnekc some newer games. But you would habe good cheap cards. If you want a good performance that fits to the Dualcore System you shouldl get a Radeon X1800XT or Geforce 7800 GT/ GTX with 512 MB this card rocks! but it isn't cheap... For Core 2 Quad Q6600 i would get a Geforce 8800GT/9800 GT this cards are even cheap now and you get a very good performacne for games from 2006-2010 Unfortunately the prices of the graphics card rised much in the last 3 years. some cars have now the double or triple prices than 2020 its crazy....
