Hope u feel better soon. I feel that creativity comes and goes depending on how your mental status is. I’m the most creative when I’m feeling mentally healthy , and that is how I know when I’m suffering from anxiety and depression, I don’t feel creative. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Hugs
Growing up we had stairs similar to that ( only 14 of them) and my bike was brought home from my grandparents. I had dress shoes on and hit the first step, well the next 13 went quick, even bouncing off the wall and continuing.....so needless to say, I am all for you doing a runner...I was laid up for days, and at 4 yrs old, felt like a lifetime!
I just love you home. The older houses, the way your house is set up. And all the beautiful pieces you have decorated with. I understand exactly what you were saying. I have been rather ill for a few years now. I still decorate my home, just not as much as I used to do. Used to do lots of crafts, made jewelry. Lots of yard sales. I still do things just not as much. Its a funny thing isn’ t it. Well there are good days and bad. Every once in a while it will be a very, very good day and then I seem to be my old self, and do things again. I have severe osteoarthritis, and fibromyalgia, along with a few other things. I thought the osteo was bad, but this fibro really is a game changer. I just love your lace curtains and tablecloth. It was so nice to see your video up here today. Miss seeing you and your things that you do. God Bless sweetie.

I totally understand your comments about not wanting to change things as much or being less creative since chemo. I have experienced the same thing since recovering from post-concussion syndrome. My mind used to be going all the time with new projects and rearranging furniture and painting .. always on the go. Not so much anymore. Now I'm just happy to have a decently clean house and the garden weeded.
I honestly perceive you as being a very creative person. You’ve endured a lot, and that is bound to have an impact on an individual. You’re still very young and very vital, so just revel in that. I love watching your videos, and I just love your home. Please be very careful on those steps! I’m 73 now so I must NEVER hurry, but that’s OK. I was going too fast before anyway. ❤️

I totally understand you about feeling less creative or motivated after your treatment because I had a heart transplant 17 months ago and I'm feeling the sam way. I was able to turn my front porch into a cozy plant filled spot to enjoy. I feel it will come back.
The lace is beautiful Selena. Your creativity will return when you fully heal mentally from your ordeal and when you're ready. Something as life changing as that will inevitably make your reassess things. It's Sod's Law, as we say in the UK, that when you mention something it seems to happen! My cat has extra toes too! When he walks through the house sometimes it almost sounds like a person walking (he’s huge!). It’s such a unique look; you don’t see it that often. Your kitty is a very handsome boy ♥️
Hi selena I went through something devastating to me back in October of course not as bad as your health crisis but it really took a toll on me and I couldn't seem to snap back I always loved doing a little of everything with passion and excitement, I was told to reset my reset button lol but I'm coming back to myself, hope you regain what use to be ,the lace I love ,keep doing you because it's beautiful. ....
I usually watch the channel u & your friend have, but I some how came across your personal channel this evening. I didn't realize u were a cancer survivor. I'm so happy u listened to your body!! As a retired nurse, I've seen so many people listen to their doc & not follow through. I can only imagine your journey, but I'm thankful u're able to share it. U seem like such a strong woman & your spirit is so bright. God bless you & thank u for sharing. I can't wait to "go shopping" w you! ;-)
If you haven’t watched the videos of Selena’s cancer treatment, I highly advise you watch it. I am also a retired RN and I just wish I had this information while I was actively nursing. Selena explained the whole thing so well, that it could be used as a teaching aide for other women with breast cancer.

Selina has a wonderful gift of connecting w her viewers & even though she was the patient, she did do a great job of explaining things. I'm so glad she listened to her body. Cancer sucks, but she showed it who's boss! ;-)
carpet on stairs is good thing, I have a 100 year old farmhouse, and we had to carpet ours as I slipped many times going down and slide down the stairs feet first. Its a bother to vacuum them though, but you can't have it all when you have a house. Your creativity thing, I think happens to be a bit pycholigical, as we get older we loose some steam, but it never goes away completely, I have found more satisfaction in what I do, even though I don't do as much as I used too. Your decorating is lovely, thanks for the beauty tips, you have an exquisite face by the way!

Hi Selena, i AM 36, never gone thru anything major, but I have 4 little kids. I have also slowed in my redecorating. I think I have a deeper understanding of what matters in life. I think is great to decorate, but if I don't get around it because something else comes up I am ok with it.

Those lace curtains made me drool! Anything you do will be creatively awesome. We treat one cathedral wall in our living room as a gallery wall. Some might poo poo idea but we love it!

I remember watching you along time ago and I ran a crossed your videos from eight years ago seven years ago three years ago and I was thinking how your look has grown up and matured and the thing that I love the most is how everything is cohesive everything goes together and you stay true to your shabby chic romanticism. Honey , take care. I fell a few weeks ago and it took me about two weeks to get over it. Kinda knocks the stuffing out of you especially when you're not 100% healthwise. Can thoroughly recommend Arnica and comfrey, particularly the Arnica

I’m so sorry about your fall. I hope you get over it quickly. Your lace curtains are gorgeous. I’ve seen ladies take old bridal veils and turn them into curtains, obviously the real long ones. You might want to keep an eye out for those when thrifting. Your necklace is beautiful and I have a bracelet that would be it’s match. Now if I could just find a necklace, lol. Take care 😊🌸

Oh no, sorry to here that. I fell down my steps and broke my ankle...it took 3 months to heal. I don't have anything on my steps either, I never thought of doing a runner. Be safe!
I hate falling, too - you feel achey all over sometimes because you braced yourself for it and tensed up all your muscles. If you can't do the runner right away, those stair pads are a good inexpensive, temporary fix but don't peel and stick - tack them with carpet tacks so they'll be really easy to remove when the real runner is ready.

I hate it when a kitty does something like that! You can't discipline them, (it's a wild animal living in your home), and they're too damn adorable to stay mad at. It's a moment of acceptance that they have all the power.

I fell up the stairs last year and did face plant and took a chunk out of my FOREHEAD AND HURT MY KNEE ALSO. iT TOOK ME 6 MO TO GET OK AGAIN. i AM 71 SO i KNOW THAT IS WHY.bUT MY HEART HURT FOR YOU WHEN YOU SAID YOU DID IT TOO.

Is your kitty a Hemingway? It looks like he has mittens like the Hemingways cats have. Also, my son went through chemo for 3 and 1/2 years and I can say, his creativity changed too, but it is just different, not gone. We loved ones are greatful just to still have you,and love the present you as much as the past you.
Selena you are a role model for the younger woman who has a diagnosis of breast cancer. You allow them to see that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Trust me that is huge. On another note on your video you were wearing a floral cow girl hat.

My stairs were really dark without putting on a light...one night I went to go up...my dog was sitting on the 4th step up.
I stepped on her, sort of...my sock slipped against her fur, my foot bent too far back & I severely strained my Achilles. It was excruciating. Took 4 months before I was back to 100%.
