This movie is absolutely phenomenal. Jake and Hugh both where robbed of Oscars.
The Academy seems to hate them for some reason. The fact that neither of them have ever won an Oscar and they both were nominated only for one film (Brokeback Mountain / Les Miserables) is absolutely insane. Gyllenhaal not even being nominated for Nightcrawler is still the worst decision the Academy has ever made, in my opinion. One of the top 5 acting performances I have seen in my life.
@@theoneandonlykk86 completely agree. I love Nightcrawler too. He's great in everything he is in.
Saw this in theaters with a date. Safe to say this isn’t a great movie for that 😂😂
Oh god it’s definitely not great for that hahaha! Unless you both enjoy snot bubble crying 😂😂😢😢
That sounds like some shit that would happen to me 😂
I’ve been on dates before and realized “hey maybe we shouldn’t have picked this movie” 😂
Oh dear God. I have been married for 18 years, good deal I avoided that trap.
Edit: this is my favorite movie.
Hugh Jackman at his best, no questions.
Hugh utterly NAILED this performance I was so invested
He was so Joel from the last of us in here!!
@@MovieJoob
Hugh should have played Joel in the show, not Pedro.
It's hard because he has so many amazing films, but this is in my top 5 Denis Villeneuve films.
Denis is incredibly talented and Bladerunner 2049 is one of my favourite films of all time
This movie is mentally exhausting. It's incredible but it's just a tough, tough watch. All these things that seem possibly, ever so slightly linked are introduced and by the end they're all very clearly and directly connected. And the ambiguous ending with regards to Keller being found doesn't allow you to fully relax when it's over.
I will never forget that hopelessness after the hammer didn't make Alex talk.
Finally a genuine reaction video. Love this movie. Thank you!
Paul Dano would later direct Jake Gyllenhaal in Wildlife (2018).
Классный фильм,почему так мало реакций на него делают?
I know what Barry did to the dog was unacceptable but you have to realize that he is a very very sick person. At a young age when his brain was developing he was constantly fed the ketamine cocktail which stunted his brain's growth and is what causes him to be the way he is. The surviving victims are all suffering from not only severe trauma affecting their psyche, but the actual chemical effects of the drugs they were forced to induce.
Barry's mind is warped and that would be taken into account when he's given a prison sentence, but he's an adult and has to answer for his actions. He kidnapped the little girls and he knew where they were the whole time. Even someone with a diminished IQ needs to answer for their role in that. How low his IQ really is is questionable, being how he can operate a large motor vehicle on the city streets. There's also a likelihood that Barry was an adult and present in that household when some of the 16 children were murdered. That carries adult consequences.
@@Ryan-ju4pn youre wrong about most of this. Barry’s IQ is tested and proven. It is that of a very young child. And as far as the kidnapping the actial culprit says “He never laid a finger on those girls.”
This was such a hard watch not the movie itself as it's actors that are doing a fine job of telling the story but it is the emotion that you had that brought me to tears seeing you pour you heart out really affected me and even though I am a man and not meant to cry I am freely admitting that this brought real tears . This is why your reactions are so special and beautiful . Thank you so much for just being yourself Jade
I have a daughter about your age (and a son a couple of years older). As a parent . as a father, there is no limit to what I. wouldn't do to protect my children.
...Hollywood wouldn't be allowed to film it. 😡
Vigilantism is quite dangerous because they are not privy to all the information. Tortured a damaged individual. Tough spot to be in. Kids were found so i guess from that perspective, it was worth any time incarcertated.
This is definitely my top 5 movies, Hugh Jackman never really misses
You are incredible Jade and a epic amazing woman and human being God bless you i love watching your reactions because you have such a beautiful mind body heart and soul i hope you are having a epic and blessed night ❤❤❤100
Keller kept his faith but it did turn him into a monster. So in a way Holly did succeed. The others who lost their children prior probably broke as well. I can’t imagine recovering from losing a child to abduction
Great Canadian director.
Watch the Prestige next!
Love the reactions jade. Another good movie is The Lovely Bones.
Hi Jade hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
Thank you so much as always John!! ❤
Is it just me, or might "Alex Jones" and his dog "Tucker" be references to certain people?
It's just you
Damn, you should watch the movie called "The Impossible" if you feel like you want to have a good cry. Its an awesome movie.
You always seem like you’re on the verge of breaking down into tears lol I hope everything is good!
Hahaha I am! My tear ducts are strong and don't listen to anyone and I'm a typical Pisces hahahaha!
I have an amazing support system and I'm very happy but I cry at the drop of a hat lol!
@@MovieJoob I do too! I was genuinely saying that by the way your videos are awesome and I know these can take an emotional toll.
👏👏👏👏👏👏😢😢😢😢😢😢
Please, react to Society of the Snow!!!!
ohhh this is gonna be good. I'm expecting many 'oh my god' and 'that's horrible' phases to be said in this one
It was so heart wrenching!! 😢
And yes so true!!
Seems great! I might watch it thanks.
One question tho. Were you begining to sympathize or feel okay with Alex knowing he brutally killed an animal?
Watching a movie reaction to decide if you want to watch the full movie never made sense to me.
You haven’t seen the movie? I only watch reactions of movies I’ve already seen. Otherwise it won’t make sense and it spoils it
To clarify he didnt kill the animal, just was reckless and sadistic with it. (Or unaware that what he was doing was actually causing pain) And yes, that scene is put there to pit you up against Alex, and make you complicate with Hugh Jackman's character.
Wow, Hugh Jackman is just extraordinary in this movie! Plus, I was right with you concerning the guy strangling his dog. I don't think you normally see deliberate animal abuse in a movie, but it's the one thing I absolutely cannot handle. I've been rehabilitating abused and neglected dogs for years and it's just disgusting what people will do, so even seeing a fake version of it in a movie really gets to me. OK then, take care Jade and have a great weekend. Cheers!
