    What about tyres can we change to tubeless one ?.

    • @TheCommonBiker
      @TheCommonBiker  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, unless you do some work on the spoked wheels to seal it fully for a tubeless tyre. I filled anti-puncture sealant from FormulaX with some hesitancy but after doing my Mumbai Nepal ride with it, I can vouch for it. It didn't make noticeable difference in the handling and I didn't have any puncture... till now.

      Both have their own advantages and disadvantages. It all depends on your requirement and liking. Himalayan has better low end torque so less frequent gear changes required but Yezdi adventure has better top end.
      If I give my view with all considerations of both bikes, my choice would be Yezdi. FYI, I have ridden both for considerable time

    Hi bro,
    I recently took Yezdi-Adventure and I'm pretty happy with the bikes' performance except for the heating issue. It's getting difficult to ride the bike without shoes and a full pant. Did you also face this issue? If yes, did the issue get resolved in your first service?

    • @TheCommonBiker
      @TheCommonBiker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Congratulations bro. Heating issue did subside after the 1st service but still not low enough to ride it without shoes. It only heats up when riding in traffic else on the highways, if you're riding above 60-70 kmph then there's hardly any heating.
      Hope this helps.

    Did you face any puncture or any tire issues knowing it's a tube tire ?

    • @TheCommonBiker
      @TheCommonBiker  ปีที่แล้ว

      Till now no puncture at all, even after riding 14,000+ kms and offroadings. But I think it's all about how you choose your line while riding.
      As per my understanding and experience, most of the punctures happen when we are ride near the edges of the road. That's wear most of the particles including metal objects and other sharp things accumulate. I avoid riding around that and if I have too, I make sure to not revv or break hard as that increases the chances of puncture. Hope this helps.

    Service cost

    • @TheCommonBiker
      @TheCommonBiker  ปีที่แล้ว

      A normal servicing without any major part replacement costs around 2,800 and the service interval is 6,000 kms. So it's pretty affordable. However, the chain sprocket cost is much higher than expected at around Rs.6,700. It's better to buy it from after market brands like Rolon.

    • @TheCommonBiker
      @TheCommonBiker  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Build quality naa to bahot kharab hai naa bahot achchi hai. Agar Himalayan se compare kare to slightly lower hai but aesa nahi hai ki bilkul reject kar de. Meri bike abhi tak maine 13,000 kms chala chuka hoon jisme se around 60% is in the city conditions for daily travel and 40% rides pe. Abhi tak mujhe koi major issue as such nahi aaya. Haan 2nd service ke around slight oil leakage tha piston block me se jo service center ne without any charges fix kar diya.
      kahi kahi pe slight rusting issues hai par wo himalayan me bhi hai.
      Sabse best hoga aap khud ek baar test ride lo dono ka, uske baad dil jiss taraf zyada jhuke, wo le lo.

    • @TheCommonBiker
      @TheCommonBiker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's covered in the Cons. I guess you didn't watch the full video.
      Till now, there's no rusting around engine area but yes there is some rusting around some nut & bolts.
      Yes, the engine does heat up but it never stalled because of the heat. The heat mainly happens when riding in the city. Once you're on the highway, the radiator fan hardly kicks in.

      Is jawa going to survive in market as sales numbers are low...?

    • @TheCommonBiker
      @TheCommonBiker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Radiator fan doesn't heat. It's the engine but as soon as the radiator fan starts, it's positioned in such a way that it blows all hot air off the engine to the right side. So if you're in chappal or sandals, your right feet starts burning if you're continuously in the traffic.

    • @TheCommonBiker
      @TheCommonBiker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Even I thought the same initially but it does have. Simplest way to check it on any bike is to downshift without clutching and it won't lock or slip the rear wheel at all. It automatically slips the clutch and readjusts to the engine RPM. This functionality is achieved by the slipper clutch. You try it on your bike.

    • @TheCommonBiker
      @TheCommonBiker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have no option to keep 2 bikes for daily use and touring. So don't have an option to not use this bike for the daily commute. It's not a big problem except the mileage and the heating (in peak traffic). Otherwise, it's a good bike and pretty manageable even for daily commute.
      About off-road bike comparison, not sure how soon I can do that but definitely try my best.

    slipper clutch doesnt allow you to shift without using clutch, its so called quickshifter which comes in high end bikes like zx10R, busa. Quickshifter allows you to shift gears without using clutch. So be responsible while giving review and also using your own bike.
    Quickshifter comes with sensor at gear shifr pedal, it automatically engages clutch when it senses your movement near shift pedal. Yezdi, RE, BAJAJ,KTM wont give you this advantage, not even possible to give in such low cost as compared to that technology

    • @TheCommonBiker
      @TheCommonBiker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're right Sumit. Quickshifter is whole together a different and much more sophisticated tech.
      Do you know if you have the right skills, you can upshift and downshift without using the clutch?? Obviously that would require a lot of practice and precision.
      A bike with slipper clutch helps a lot in clutchless shifting but obviously it's not a replacement for quickshifter. Just search "clutchless gear shift on motorcycle " and you would get tons of videos explaining the ways.
      Hope this helps. Appreciate your feedback though. Keep them coming in 😊
      Ride Safe

    • @DilinMD
      @DilinMD 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @sumit shinde Again, the quickshifter does not work like that. The sensor at gear shifter will cause the ECU to momentarily turn off the engine for a few milliseconds, thus "unloading" the gearbox and allowing you to shift the gear. The new KTM RC 390 has bidirectional quickshifter, now retailing for 3.16 lakhs. But with practice we can do clutchless up and down shifts with any bike. Here, timing is the key.

    Another 2 cons I found after my 6k run.
    1. Navigation should use Google maps, mapmyindia doesn't have enough data in faraway places. Also it keeps disconnecting from phone randomly.
    2. On continuous long rides after 100km or around 1.5-2hr mark stiffness of the seat becomes prevalent. Have to take break or butt gets painfully numb.
    I have tried to get cushioning aftermarket but haven't found yet. And pune showrooms are not good for customers they swindled me by lying about tank cage. They told me it's necessary by RTO . Weight of bike is less than Himalayan 'without tank cage' . With tank cage it weighs about 210kg. I am afraid to park on incline because of that , not easy to push bike when it's off.

    • @TheCommonBiker

      About your 2nd point, I strictly believe in taking a short halt every hour. Riding for more than an hour in a stretch is simply unnecessary and whom are we trying to prove anything to by riding long hours in a stretch?? I ride to enjoy the roads, the dhabhas, sunrises, sunsets, tapri ki chai, valleys, ghats, greenery, and those vacant petrol pumps in the interiors of our beautiful country.
      So keep taking frequent stops and enjoy the locations. Less fatigue, more enjoyment. I follow 50-10 rule (ride for 50 mins, take a break for 10 mins. don't count the kms, just the no. of mins), which is now followed by my riding group too. Works superbly well. Try it and let me know if it helps you too.
