You can't even spell Sonor! I've owned all those drums that you mentioned. And don't base sound with sales, these are very expensive drums and you have to special order them i have to wait about 6 months for mine. The point here is your hearing! and the only cardboard boxes sounding drums are your Pearl Forum with Evans hydraulic heads you use. You sound like you are not old enough to appreciate high quality things in life just yet.

mann fiore also I used to own a game brand new and when it came I played it and the mount on the bass for the rack toms snapped so yeah shitiest drum company and now I own a gretsch USA custom 7 piece
I had some 70s Gretsch they recorded the best, i regret selling them. I have had almost every brand of drums except dw, now if you said dw sound it like cardboard i would believe you! unfortunately we disagree on Tama stars drums, they do have some issues with their bearing edges some times. You have some great great drums!

We have several TAMA drums at home. My favorite is the starclassic bubinga made in Japan. We also have a s.l.p. woodhoop, is also nice. And we have a star walnut, and something about this one is bothering me. I look at it a bit like in the army. A simple soldier has stripes on his uniform but THE GENERAL wears the medals! And that's it now at TAMA, the expensive high-end drums have a simple sticker under the varnish on the expensive star classic and the expensive star drum kit. It looks like the stripes on a regular soldier's uniform. And then you have the cheaper star classic and the cheaper other models and they have a decent badge such as the medal on the uniform of the general. You can mount this beautiful star badge on the Tama Star reserve snare and it looks great and adds value to the snare drum. It would be great if there was a badge like that on a star drum kit, after all it is your top model and I think the top model certainly deserves this. Now it looks like a Rolls Royce where they forgot to install the Engel.
If any of you have actually been to Japan you would rather have your drums made by them than anyone in the US, I don't know what all the rave about like US made stuff is, alot of this stuff is really good, people need to stop listening to that shit
Yes I agree that the Japanese make great drums. But, "all the rave about US made" is for many reasons. It supports local economy, which does a lot for businesses, there are many reasons why that is a good thing. It's also knowing you're getting a well crafted product. For example I am definitely not going to buy a leaf blower made in China VS one that is made in the US. I just custom ordered a kit from Tama, I was considering ordering one from SJC since they're American. My sales rep from Sweetwater said they let you do some pretty detailed customizing so I wanted to explore all options before making a final decision. However a few calls and voicemails left to SJC they never returned my calls so I opted to go with Tama again.
At this point there are plenty of well crafted kits from numerous countries. I've owned two Gretsch kits and the newer of the two, a Brooklyn series kit, is just amazing. I've owned Sonor (from Germany) and they are just fantastic. My other main kit is a Tama Starclassic Performer B/B and it's also a great kit. Each brings their own character...so I'll conclude by just saying there's good stuff in plenty of countries.
Hope you got them. I'm in the U.S. and have been waiting since June for my Tama Stars of course we are living in the world of COVID this year so a longer wait is expected, its been 7 months. Tama Star Walnut Garnet Japanese Sen Burst kit. I have been told they are in the U.S., soon. Can't wait. I'm sure you loved yours when they arrived, would love to hear back from you.
@@hedrickrunner Yeah, mine arrived pretty quickly. It took about 6 weeks for them to arrive...but that was all before the current Covid pandemic. I had originally chosen the silver sparkle finish but they discontinued that just as Winter NAMM was coming...likely a chance to announce changes in the finish options. I ended up choosing the red oyster and really love it! Get lots of great compliments on it. In terms of heads, I have always been a Remo Ambassador player but the coated heads just don't sound proper (to my ear). But...the Remo pin stripes sound amazing and very fat. Their sound on this kit reminds me of what Chad Smith gets out of his high end Pearl Reference series kits.

i have owned Tama swingstar kit and imperialstar and superstar kit they all is excellent drums i also had slingerland and sonor, Ludwig i have also played on Gretsch but i dont play drums anymore, what is a professional drumkit is it the name on the company or the price my experience is how it actualy performes how consistent it is and in that category Tame is exilent vs ludwig and the other brands if you compare the best Tama has vs the other companis
Yes they do. I ordered my basic kit and then added 3 custom drums to the order from Cymbal Fusion in Houston Texas. The 3 custom drums are due to arrive soon. It will take a while, months but its worth the wait for the quality of these drums. Contact Cymbal Fusion, great guys and have been super helpful for me. RG
I own a Tama superstar drum set, and i recently purchased the only Tama 8" tom that was matching my set. But it's original wrapping was stripped, and the drum was painted blue, and my drum is with original black wrap. I searched everywhere and couldn't find a matching color. Wrote an email to Tama europe, no success, wrote an email to Drumeo, in hopes they could help me out, with a contact email address from Tama drums, no success. Can anyone from the community help me out ?

Look on Craigslist. If you can find an set of early 1980's Imperialstar or Superstars, you won't be disappointed.
