- We start our sail north from San Diego, and after some brief stops in Dana Point, Newport Beach, and beautiful Santa Cruz Island, we make it to Santa Barbara. We wait in Santa Barbara until we get a good weather window to go up the central coast, and that'll all be in the Leg 2 video!
Another great video! The flamingo segment was hilarious. Great dolphin footage. That is a lot of carnitas!
Glad you enjoyed it! Ira was up in the Bay Area photographing Big Boat Series while I was still on the boat in Newport, and that was footage I sent to her saying "look at this madness!" She showed me the flamingo clip, and we were cracking up at how well it fit together.

That sunset picture, was it from 1M20 or 1M22? If so, you were right across the finger from us. I enjoyed the video, and look forward to the next ones.
I should know the SB Harbor numbering by now, we've been there a bunch, but I'm not sure where we took the photo from. It was some time when we stayed sorta mid-harbor as opposed to out in the usual guest slips near the end.
Really glad you enjoyed this one. I'm guessing you've seen our other videos, but if not, check them out! We have a few out. I'm trying to get our latest one out some time soon, but we've been busy re-bedding the keel and getting new rigging. We're finally back in working order, but now my wife (Ira, pronounced ee-ra) has been photographing for PacCup so she's hogging all the hard-drives!!! You'll see the new video some time soon though.
@@OurLadyDefiant our boat is in the upwind slip directly across from where that photo was taken. The Valiant with the black canvas. You walked right by it every time you went out. I probably even said hello. It’s always interesting talking to the visiting folks. We’ve been enjoying the videos, we’re always on the lookout for ones with more sailing and less posing.
@@joshmassie7614 That's awesome! We'll be back in SB in October I think, and some time after Thanksgiving (going south and then north). If we see you we'll stop by and say hello!
Really glad you're enjoying them. More to come soon hopefully. We've done some more racing lately, with is fun to make into videos, but it's challenging to video while racing.
