Is it me, or is Tony Levin playing two bass parts on The Tower That Ate People? One on keyboard, and then tapping on the bass guitar - my god, he's something else...

Great show. I still can’t believe how great Peter Gabriel’s voice still is

Completely agree...at 73, he's clearly working those muscles-- he still sounds as good as his youthful days. Amazing!

Peter killed it in LA and Palm Desert. Great capture, thanks for sharing.

Didn't catch LA, but Palm Desert was just an INCREDIBLE night of music for me. I'll never forget it.

I have the same favorites as many, Mercy Street, In Your Eyes, Biko....but this is the song I get lost in the most. Then the extended versions arrived and I put them all in a playlist and I just zone out. Something so truthful about the lyrics but I primarily listen to it for the sounds, the amazing layering of sounds. I get caught up in it every time.

Thanks for sharing this video. I enjoyed to see how the first The Tower went AND, especially, enjoyed to CLEARLY see what Don-E, Marina Moore, Ayanna Witter-Johnson are doing during the final section of Sledge ("Won't you show for me!" and onward). Which I think is really good, maybe better than any Sledge live I've ever heard before i/o The Tour. BTW safe travel back home, wherever it will be from.

Traveled 600 for front row, yes well worth it.

Went to the last show of the tour in Houston last night
They added The Tower That Ate People as the first encore.
Peter did not introduce it and nobody knew what the song was
Did the band play this in Los Angeles?
That show was recorded for a concert release

I’d love to know why the pre-chorus (“building up and up”) section has been excised from every live version I’ve ever heard (I’m assuming it was present in the millennium show and that’s it). It does seem they’re basing this more directly on the red planet remix, which omitted it, and maybe less sonically that version also influenced the structure of all post-ovo live versions, but again: why? It’s such a better dynamic setup for the chorus, and also just a really cool section.

Sounds really great! Love the bridge and how it builds back in for the outro. Really powerful!
