I love when you specify "Objectively speaking" because so many people deny such a notion and claim "music is always and only subjective". Sure, but quality and success are not. Cool man!
ALL their albums have a few ok moments but overall suck, especially the vocals and most of the lyrics--close ur eyes and u can't tell them apart from most popular bands and thats true with their newer albums. Gatekeeping only exists for the most talented bands.

@@BenLA5 I think you guys missed the part of the video where he mentioned rock in general. I love a bunch of those bands you listed, but the normies and even metalheads don't give a flying fuck about any of them (except MAAYYBE nails). The point of the video is that in the broader sense, the genre (being mainstream rock/metal), has benefitted from the fresh takes that bring me the horizon has brought to the table.

They toured a ton with Australian bands like I Killed The Prom Queen and The Amity Affliction early on, built a huge fan base here. Although metal core has always been disproportionately popular in Australia

For me, Bring Me the Horizon continued Linkin Park's legacy in the sense of mixing rock/metal with pop (electronica, hip-hop e etc.) without being cheesy and embarrassing and being extremely fresh
also literally just developing as musicians and persons, very similar to linkin park. not many bands see this kind of growth and talent
Oliver it's a big fan of the band and speacilly Chester since chilhood, they're got together for a Kerrang! edition where he talked about grownth as a fan and these influences, wicht no doubt we can notice on BMTH
The reason BMTH is my favorite band is just because they have such a huge variety of genres. They literally cover my entire spectrum of genre preferences
Music for most moods. I totally agree. Defo the band if you was given the scenario of, if you could only listen to 1 band for the rest of your life, kinda thing, wouldn't get bored 😁

@Caroline Coy you have to go into each new album and songs without expections. And I enjoy that so much, and it's like they give you little hint of their heavy era just to remind you that they could still do that if they wanted they just dont.
This sums up why they are one of my favorite bands ever.

I love that line in Heavy Metal and how they follow it up with “and that’s alright” I feel like that’s a good way of saying “yeah we’re gonna go ahead and just do what we want to do creatively” mad respect for that

Interesting how people say they “sold out”. For me, selling out as a band means you stop making music for yourself and you start making music that you think your fans want you to make. On the outside, it looks like that’s what BMTH have done. But in reality, they are just writing whatever the fuck they wanna write. They’re making music for themselves. They’re doing the opposite of selling out and that’s why they will always be around. Love it.
I think people also forget that at one point he DESTROYED his vocal chords which is why he sounds so different also now,so not only does he not want to scream anymore,he has a hard time with the damage he did

@@davidhoffman6208 A funny thing is than both the old albums fans and new albums fans never say something bad about That's The Spirit, because is indeed more pop-oriented music but with SOUL, you can feel they aren't just musics but messages to the listeners (makes sense almost all of the album is played at Albert Hall show).
I'm more a screamo bmth fan, but TTS is my favorite album for this and excluding Amo i liked their new experiments in pop style songs.

…it’s ironic that you’re being close-minded while trying to chastise others for supposedly being so when that’s not necessarily the case. It’s easy for you to say “what’s the issue here? It’s good, why are y’all hating?” because…you…like it. You liked the changes. It fit YOUR preferences. If someone enjoys the way a band is for years, how their singer sings, etc and then that band does a 180 and the singer loses his essence then yes, listeners have every right to voice their disappointment and it does not immediately make them close-minded. Sure, those types exist too but not every listener who hated the drastic changes BMTH made should be dismissed as close-minded. I’ll use a pop singer as a crazy example lol…imagine all these years folks loving Adele for her insane vocals right? Her ballads and hearty lyrics….aaaand then she releases an album where she sings like Kesha did in her debut oooor she releases an album where she’s pulling an Iggy Azalea 🤮…her fans would have every right to say..,W.T.F. And they wouldn’t be close-minded for that, you see?? Sometimes folks just really love a band and they can stick by them through some changes but not full on 180 degree turns because they initially loved that band for that something and that something is no longer there. I hope this has given ya a difficult perspective to consider 👌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
I loved ever single album they have done. The song they did with Baby Metal is so batshit…I didn’t think in a million years it would be good but they blew me away with King Slayer. It’s more fun following a band that is evolving and changing…I prefer it to listening to a band that does the same shit for 20 years straight.

Last year, their single Parasite Eve was getting loads of air play here in the UK. Didn't believe my ears at first when it came on between Post Malone and Stormzy on Radio 1.

@@LadeeGrimm Great tune. I'm not a huge fan of the band but that one caught my attention and make the hairs stand up on my neck a bit which is rare for mainstream radio. I'd say them and Biffy Clyro are the only two bands that could be classed as heavy that have consistently been in the UK charts, and to be fair, none of Biffy's mainstream stuff was remotely heavy, and they're not exactly musically ground breaking. Comparing Instant History to Parasite Eve, you can tell they've clicked on to the same formula. Without the Scottish accent I could have passed that for a BMTH song with telecasters.

Even during their deathcore years, Oli talked about how much he likes listening to Britney Spears and other pop.
As a huge music enthusiast, I loved every single direction Bring Me The Horizon has taken. To me its not just about being one genre, it's about the music, the lyrics. I have so much respect for them, the diversity they have is insane, and should be respected.
So glad to see you giving Jordan the attention and respect he deserves. Bring Me was a killer band before he joined, but he took them to a whole other level. He and Oli (and Lee, as well) make an amazing song writing team.

I feel like I’m one of the few who absolutely loved That’s The Spirit. Sempiternal is still my favorite but That’s The Spirit was just so different and an amazing album in its own way, Doomed, Run, What You Need are my top songs. I’ve listened to them since I was 11 and I’m 26 now, they’ve come so far 🖤
Amo is very underrated. I get it’s not most peoples sound… but it’s super artsy

Parasite Eve was played world wide on mainstream radios, I literally heard it in malls and supermarkets in several countries! Absolutely blew my mind and made me so happy!

They are played quite alot in the UK on the radio. Makes me sad when the radio is on, but sometimes I'll get lucky and BMTH are on
BMTH reminds me a lot of Linkin Park. They were both always ahead of the game, amazing production, constantly changing and evolving their sound, etc.
I honestly think BMTH from 2020 onwards picked up where Linkin Park left off. I mean Linkin Park somewhat went through the similar patterns that BMTH did, only that their story has been cut off short by Chester’s suicide. Linkin Park went from this Nu-metal band to this alt-rock/electro-rock band to a pop-rock band by One More Light. In some ways, One More Light was to Linkin Park the same way amo was to BMTH. They were considered a “sellout” album by their fans (esp those who were fans from the early days). And I think both bands saw the backlash coming. But the difference here is that Chester unfortunately committed suicide in 2017 and it left the future of the band unclear. With all due respect but Mike Shinoda seems to fit more as a rap/hip-hop artist given his solo career and his side project “Fort Minor” and it was somewhat on Chester to make Linkin Park what it is (or was). Anyways, back onto the topic, I think BMTH managed to do in 2020 is what we would think Linkin Park would’ve done had Chester not committed suicide. BMTH manages to create an album as true to their passion while simultaneously expanding on popularity and silence all the haters. Not only that, they started inspiring and collaborating with other artists, big artists such as Ed Sheeran, Amy Lee from Evanescence, MGK to artists that I’ve never heard of such as Sigrid. Not only that, they paid a lot of homage on Post Human: Survival Horror to Linkin Park, which was credited as Oli’s inspiration (I mean really, the song 1x1 probably has the most LP references, while Itch for the cure is the direct reference to Cure for the Itch on Hybrid Theory) while creating their own sound. So I think for the foreseeable future, they will continue to inspire aspiring artists and helping smaller artists become popular.
@@soonlytaing1708 the thing I can’t get past is how little BMTH has done in being inclusive for their old fans, the fans that gave them the platform and boost during SS and There is a hell, and ultimately sempiternal. It just seems like they pushed all of that in the past. Of course a musician can do whatever they want with their music, but it’s so disappointing and bleak for us fans who just couldn’t get into their new music yet still want to be able to support the dudes who saved us from ourselves.

BMTH is just incredible. Subjectively you can argue and say that "muh don't like non-heavy stuff" but objectively everything they made is a few steps above every other band in the scene. Their sound, production etc. is always huge and on another level. Comparing them to other bands who seem stuck in the same spot and don't get metal anywhere except play fan service for niche elitists is like comparing an AAA quality video game to some indie title on early access.
I wouldn't go so far as to say they're a "few steps above every other band in the scene". In terms of I guess implementing something "new" that "worked", then I could agree.
But you like say in terms of creativity and musicianship, I would't be so sure. I guess it all comes down to preference.
There are a lot of bands in the core and modern metal scene that are pretty damn good and creative at the same time. Just that they aren't really trynna be mainstream.
"Thats the Spirit" for me was the when I've finally grown from them. Like I could still listen to their newer hits, but it wouldn't be something that I'd be really looking forward to.
Their current sound might no longer be it for me, but I can still respect it. And I still support them no matter what. Not because of their newer stuff. But because of how much their older stuff meant to me back in the days.
I used to hate them, but Post Human Survival really made me a fan. The lyrics and the emotion of every track are skillfully delivered to you and I can play them on repeat without getting tired. It's insane. It feels like musical therapy.
I think a big contributing factor to metal's stagnation is this puritanical need for bands to fit into subgenres. BMTH just said fuck it and did whatever they wanted to do, and it works for them because they pull it off.
Thats the thing, they can sound however they want, and if people like it they like it. Just because I dont like it doesnt mean that it is objectively bad.
That’s what always made rock different from other genres. It was always focused on subgenres instead of experimentation to push it forward. However, you’re bound to run out of subgenres at some point. Combine that with Rock’s purity spiral (to the point where some metalheads weirdly say that Metal isn’t rock music) and the genre starts to stagnate very quickly. It also doesn’t help that EDM has co-opted headbanging, Pop makes music about mental health, and Rap is now seen as the "dangerous music" by both teenagers and white parents mentally stuck in 1995. The only genre that hasn’t changed much in the last 20 years is country due to it’s heavy focus on rural areas and radio play (wifi usually isn’t that great or available in those places anyway). It’s likely why Country stations have the largest radius transmission wise.

The production on Count Your Blessings was part of what drew me to it and why I still love it. such a raw album
@@rorz999 totally understandable. I think raw production can enhance an album on certain ways but it's definitely not for everyone. I also listen to a lot of black metal so production was never an issue for me lol
@@rorz999 people have done cover versions of the album with modern production techniques, they are nowhere near as good as the original.
Count Your Blessings and Suicide Season will always have a special place in my heart, especially since they were my gateway to getting into sub genres of metal etc eventually.

I just realized that BMTH is 18 years old, and I've been consistently listening to them for all of those years. They've got music for all my moods, what's not to like?!
I would say deathcore didn't die but went underground again. Deathcore Scene bands are still around cause they saw they needed to evolve and adapt if they wanted to survive. I honestly love how their sound has evolved throughout the years. Also, singers can't be screaming forever or risk completely losing their voice

If you’re a harsh vocalist, as long as you know what you’re doing and safe, proper technique, you shouldn’t have to worry about how long you’ll be able to do it.
The thing about these guys is that they are a box full of surprises. In order for you to like their entire discography, you must be an open-minded person without judging their musical change. What makes them so special to me is that they can do a heavy song as well as a catchy pop song. They'll always be my favorite band.

It's important to note that Olly has always said that growing up, heavier music was kinda taboo, which he found to be a shame because it can be genuinely helpful to someone's mental state.. He wanted to be the band that brought that kind of music to the mainstream to help people who wouldn't otherwise have given it the time of day and sure enough, they did that. They polished their sound, they gained the respect of metalheads, they lightened up, they made pop music to appeal to the masses and show that they aren't a one trick pony, and once all the new came to the shows after the pop record, they started playing Deathcore medleys during them. Then they created a sound that could appeal to metalheads and to people who liked pop music and here in the UK, their songs got serious airplay, despite having breakdowns and screams littered throughout it.. Which is not a common thing to hear on UK radio stations. Olly still collaborates with other artists for heavier songs too, using his fame to help shine a light on other bands that he feels deserves recognition, such as Lotus Eater & Poor Stacey. And now they're embarking on am arena tour and they're bringing Lorna Shore with them.
People can try to claim BMTH sold out all they want, but it's very obvious that they still love the genre and they're doing their best to give the Metal community a shot at the recognition it deserves.

I'm younger, 15 almost 16. I never would've given metal or modern rock any attention because of my sound sensitivities & pasificism. Most of what I was into was psytrance, liquid dubstep, pop thrown in, Russian shit, etc. I though that stuff was way too aggressive for me & that it'd trigger trauma responses from me because a lot of it did do that to me & then someone older showed me Bring Me the Horizon's Sempiternal around September/October of last year. I was in awe. Here, there was a heavier band that DIDN'T trigger trauma responses, that appealed to my tastes & that sounded like nothing else I'd heard from that scene. I got quiet intrigued, but mid October, it all was on a bit of a pause when I was hospitalized again and went into the foster system. Not allowed to listen to much of anything in those hospitals, least the ones I went to & I was losing my shit again so whatever. I was not really out of an institution until January, but was in longer term ones for most of that time, in which case, they helped me get through all the shit that was happening. It was also when I looked into them more on Pandora because we weren't allowed to use any other streaming service in that place. e.e
Also did what I do best, did some research on Oli & though he is questionable, he doesn't feel like someone to necessarily be disgusted with or fear or anything, just mad respect for the lad.
That respect ended up going into how much I loved the music; when you know the context, albums hit differently, & in their case, because they are quiet authentic experimentalists, it serves in their favour as it makes their albums so much more impactful & shit when one knows what was going on during those times.
I mention my personal issues because the way they became one of my top bands was directly because of those issues & I just feel like it really emphasizes how personal their music has become to me, how much they've helped me (esp w/ Hospital for Souls), etc etc.
I have nothing, but respect & love for those individuals & am eager to see wtf they pull out next.
It's a right of passage to get the "sellout" tag when you've reached the top

BMTH, Sleep Token and Bad Omens are my favourite bands, because they explore and play around with their music. They experiment and don't give a f for genre norms, and I love that.

Just discovered this band from their song Teardrops and while I am not a fan of their much older material, I have nothing but respect for a band that can last this long through so many changes in their music and still be relevant.
I feel such a dumbass that I used to dislike That's the spirit and Amo. But over time i fell in love with both albums, and now I can't wait to see what the guys are coming out with next. I can't wait to see them live for the first time in February.
I was late to the party on BMTH. But the song that converted me was Nihilist Blues. What a phenomenal band. They throw the rule book out on each record it seems (or in between songs even).

I already liked them I just didn't know it yet. Run was used on WWE 2K17, I didn't know who they where yet. Till I was messing around on TH-cam music's rock playlist then Parasite eve came on in 2020, they had me already
@Uncle Seekx yeah i had a similar route to listening to them. I thought Run was a great song when I would be sitting in the WWE menu and then I snooped around some more and got really into them.
I started listening to them back in 2014 and Nihilist Blues is probably my favorite song, aside from Doomed or Don’t Go.
@@PathologicallyIncurious I love don't go. I always laughed at how Oli sounded like he was about to cry in the song, until I found out what the song was about. Now I get the emotion. My fave band of all time, and that's saying something. I'm 50 yrs young and they've blown me away. Weird that when my daughter started listening to the spirit album and I hated it 🤣. But the song, can you feel my heart and the Sempiternal album got me hooked on them, now I love that's the spirit, sum songs on amo, and even some of their deathcore stuff. And there's no way I would have given that a chance before this band. ❤️😁
Sempiternal is one of my favorite albums. It probably changed my life honestly, I got clean around the same time the album came out. Good stuff
Sempiternal was a great sign off album. I just wish they were more inclusive with the fans of their old music and did like a single incorporating their metalcore roots with actual screaming verses mixed with Oliver’s vocals that aren’t overtly autotuned.
BRO it feels so good that my fav band has finally gotten the appreciation they deserve!! I’ve been screaming this from the rooftops since Sempiternal came out. I listened to that album THE DAY it was released. They’re not afraid to try new things and that’s the thing I love the most about them.

One thing that no one talks about is the live with a full orchestra. That’s when i was starting to be blown away. I loved suicide season, and the remix album. But the live experience needs to be talked about because that album is 100 percent perfect!
I love the evolution of BMTH. They change and mature with every album but somehow there is still the BMTH spirit, you still recognise that these are the boys who made Diamonds aren’t forever. Also Oli looks and sounds so much better and healthier
As someone who grew up along with the band. Having their first album, seeing them as a teen. I feel like I grew and matured with them. Just like my taste in music changed, their sound evolved. Every album has a place in my Playlist.
I'd never seen any of your videos and didn''t know what to expect but I'm just really happy this is such a positive video. BMTH is one of my favorite bands and it's great to see people appreciating their work.
at this point they could release a country album and I can confidently predict it would be great, I'm not sure how they fit so much talent in one band but I'm glad they did
Two things I love the most about BMTH: they’re not afraid to go deep in creativity and show the different faces of their versatility so you never know what to expect but also everything feels fresh, I can listen to their first piece of work and still feel like it’s brand new, never gets old. That’s why they’re my favorite band, lol.
Just a little thing I noticed: It's absolutely mind blowing thinking about how the Whiskey was the elite spot to play for bands in the 80's. Like it was the ultimate club you wanted to play in to get famous and now it's a "tiny venue", damn
ive followed them since i was 15 and i am now about to turn 29 and i have loved all their albums. i love that i never know what the nect album will sound like, i love that they do something different every time and they've accompanied me in the worst but also the best years of my life.

I got to see them live for the first time last week and I can say, without a doubt, it was absolutely the best concert I’ve ever been to! Oli definitely knows how to work a crowd. I think he even called everybody turds at some point and we all ate it up 😂😂😂
I watched them for the second time last month as well. The audience response is INSANE. I'm in México, most people don't even speak English but they know the songs spot on. The love the fanbase has for them is crazy. Sadly Oli wasn't feeling quite right that day and he was sort of down but even like that he lit that place up, Lee and the Matt's play stunningly, Jordan is amazing, Oli'@ voice sound better than ever. Damn, even John's presence on stage pops up and he isn't even a member of the band. They are crazy talented

I love BMTH so much. I discovered them with Sempiternal and loved everything they had released before and I've loved everything they've released after.
Really awesome analysis. I would also add that BMTH has a similar history to Slipknot. Both bands took risks with their sound and stayed ahead of the curve from their peers, which transformed them both into the giants they are today. It’s funny i’m a school teacher and I sometimes overhear grade 5, 6, 7 students talking about Slipknot or BMTH. So that should tell you something about their success.

That’s literally what I was thinking! Was just remembering in 2015 when I was working in a mh facility for kids and allll the teens talking about how they loved bmth and that made me smile. I would then say “I loved them when I was 15 too! Still love em today”. Crazy how far they came.
Every Slipknot Album sounds exactly the same though in my opinion. I've tried many times, I even went to see them to try and understand. I still think they suck extremely bad. I call them fake metal for fake metal fans. Total posers in my book.
I discovered BMTH through the Chelsea Smile video in 2009, but it was really Sempiternal that made me a huge fan. I dig pretty much any era of the band, but the fact that they’re still at this level of quality and forward thinking creativity nearly 18 years on is really something special.
This video was sublime. I really appreciate how you were honest about your own creative niche and not wanting to step out of it for fear of losing what you've busted your ass to build. It's hard for a lot of people who never made their living on their own creations to understand how fragile any small amount of success can be. Anywho, I loved the video, and wish you nothing but the best. 🙏

They went from a band that I was like "Eh, I guess I like that one song" years ago. To one of my most played artists. I recommend them to all of my friends, despite their preferred genre. It's just so fresh and so well done that they deserve the recognition.
My brother showed me BMTH and I was like "okay, sounds nifty" and didn't think much more. Years later I hear a badass song playing in Hot Topic so I Shazam'd it (remember that app?) And sure as sheet, it was them! But I was confused why it sounded more uppity and not rip-your-head-off-y. Now, years and years later, I have learned and love their constantly changing sound. Not only because I love experimentation, but because they always managed to change without compromising, and did it well. By far a very underappreciated band

I started listening to Bring Me The Horizon when Count Your Blessings was out and really got hooked when Suicide Season had released. I just love heavy music and that sound was what all I wanted to hear. That being said, my musical tastes grew as I got older.
There is a Hell was great, but Sempiternal didn't really do it for me. It sounded overproduced for me, although I enjoyed Shadow Moses. Then That's the Spirit came out and I felt it was too pop for my tastes. Doomed was fantastic though because it just sounded so different from everything else they had written up until then.
It took me 2 years but That's the Spirit started to grow on me, I was really listening to the rest of the tracks and began enjoying them much more. The Linkin Park influence was clearly there.
I knew about Amo but had no interest in listening to it. I was listening to other types of music and it finally took me to this year to even attempt listening to Amo. By this point, I was convinced they were full pop but when I listened to it, I wasn't all impressed. It had its moments from a songwriting standpoint such as Nihilist Blues, I apologize, Heavy Metal (oh the irony lol) but that's about it.
Then "In the Dark" came into my playlist randomly on TH-cam and something clicked. Amo is now my favorite album from them because it's such a diverse tracklist!
Post Human: Survival Horror was amazing and I'm back on board with anything they do. Bring Me the Horizon just doesn't miss! I'm glad I'm on this journey with them because they've come a long way.

There is a Hell and Sempiternal were my favorites out of all their albums. I’ve been into them since they were on MySpace, & Oliver Sykes had Drop Dead Clothing waaay back when scene was cool lmao.

I barely touched their music growing up.. only knew a few songs and came across Post Human and it blew me away. I had to do a deep dive in their discography and their range is incredible!
I had listened to Throne and Happy Song for years then within the last year or two I looked into the rest of their catalogue and I was blown away, really love everything these guys are doing!

I started listening to BMTH in 2008, around the time Suicide Season came out. Haven't really liked any of their music since Sempiternal, but it's cool to see them reach such a high level of success. The same people that called us weird for listening to them in high school are now the new fans lol
Exactly lol… like it’s no secret they’re absolutely talented individuals but something the new fans can’t seem to get is a lot of us metalcore fans just can’t find any enjoyment in their new stuff, it’s like a complete 180. I wish I could support the dudes who saved me from myself, but I can’t get into their new music. Wish they still officially sold their old merch designs at the very least.

BMTH doesn't just change they evolve! Other bands change for the worse. They're standing the test of time by constantly releasing good quality music regardless of genre

7:48 "Haha I'm so drunk I can't..... see anymore hahaha" - Oli really came a long way from the early era in numerous ways, and grew as a singer and as a person. BMTH as a whole has been a refreshing experience - and they kind of got me _back_ into Core, as I had sort of moved on for years. They pulled me back in.
When you made that mid day at warped comment and played the footage it made me realize how meteoric their rise was after Sempiternal. I saw them that year - warped 2013 - and they did play midday all tour which is nuts to think about when not too long after they were selling out massive stadiums touring on Sempiternal. Even then though their crowd at warped was by far the biggest, it was pretty insane. Great band always doing great things looking forward and pushing boundaries at every turn. yeah that’s true ??? i remeber seeing them at warped like midday and thought they were so much bigger of a band to be playing mid day. i mean for fucks sake, of mice & men was the final act of warped 2014 i believe, so it was wild to me that they were playing midday instead of at night, as like a final act.

I remember your video from 2018! Was probably one of the first I watched. Started listening to BMTH in 2010 and never looked back. They were a huge part of my high school experience 🖤
I remember in 2019 I went to a Deftones concert/festival in San Diego and it had alt rock, deathcore, prog metal, rap, pop, and an EDM scremo thing. It was a super odd, but I remember enjoying that so many people could unite and just listen to music from all over the spectrum. Stuff like this will keep music thriving.
I was lucky enough to see them at the Whisky last week, and it was life-changing. My absolute favorite thing about this band is their willingness to do whatever they want, whenever they want. They don’t hold themselves to anyone else’s standards or expectations and always write the music that they feel like recording. Great video, dude

In regards to helping out the next generation when drop dead clothing first launched smaller artists were regularly featured to give them more exposure especially in the UK where majority of us scene kids couldn't be arsed to import the hot topic style band t-shirts so spent our shelf stacking money on drop dead shirts to wear to our next crabcore gig in a sweaty box room 5 bus trips away 🤣.
A small circuit tour in 2011 consisting of them the devil wears prada, architects and parkway drive seemed to be the turning point of them being a small band you could tell didn't take it seriously into the behemoth they've become who genuinely come across as true artists who believe in what they're doing
I watched them headline at Download Festival earlier this year and oh my fucking god. They played live so well, their visuals were on point, and the atmosphere was fucking amazing. The fact that they headlined a sold out festival having around 110, 000-120,000 people shows that they have really made it.
From Deathcore to Pop-Rock and everything in between, BMTH deserve so much respect for how versatile they are

@@stinky_lizard they're awesome, so mad I recently missed them come through here, but I have already seen every band but that was before new material was released (SeeYouSpaceCowboy, Wristmeetrazor, Greyhaven, Vatican; check em all out if you haven't and maybe catch em on tour rn). But yeah that's why people say the "rawring 20s" cause it's the 20s right now and there's more of these myspacecore revival bands now than ever.
If you like SYSC check out If I Die First, their friends and also fellow artists LiL Lotus and Nedarb in that band with the rhythm section of From First to Last. They also did a split ep together and their closing title track on the brand new album features them. Good old 2000s scenecore vibes.

As someone that listens to literally everything, I respect bands that can shift between the lines and produce music that gives variety. I've listened to BMTH from the beginning and I still enjoy all of it.
Amo wasn't my speed, but I will say Mantra is an absolute bop

I was never a BMTH fan, and I don't listen to them regularly. That being said, these guys are one of the best live bands I've ever seen. I've seen them at festivals a few times over the last several years, and they always kill it. I love nostalgic bands like Godsmack, and Disturbed. I always have a fun experience when they headline festivals, but I've talked about how fun seeing BMTH is more than any of those old-school headliners each time. Killer band.
I absolutely loved this video. I've never seen your content before but I'm a huge bmth fan. I've been listening to them since 2008 and love how they've changed over the years. I like to think of them like the Madonna of the metal world. My favorite aspect of their music is it feels like we've grown up and evolved together.
The Live at Royal Albert Hall concert that was filmed when they played with a full Orchestra is next level amazing. I could listen for "Doomed" all day!
my favourite nugget of trivia for BMTH is simply that Oli was playing a tonne of Doom Eternal during lockdown & writing for Survival Horror and he enjoyed the game and it's soundtrack so much, they got Mick Gordon to co-produce some of the tracks on the EP.
That and "Dear Diary" being one giant reference to Resident Evil 1 but re-contextualised to the pandemic.

I was one of a few other guys who did the gang vocals on There Is A Hell…I wasn’t a huge fan before that. But after hearing their music in the studio, I respected their craft a lot. So well done. I think the others on that albums gang vocals were Vigil from the ghost inside, and their old bass player Garrett, and a couple dudes from Epitaph Records. Wish I could go back and appreciate the experience a little more.
Seeing them live is in the top 5 on my bucket list! The energy must be amazing! Hopefully one day!

Currently on a "History of" Binge and this one's brought me back to when I was 10 in 2013 finally getting a CD of Sempiternal for my birthday after seeing them on Kerrang and since that day it's one of my top 10 albums ans BMTH will always be one of my favorites in modern rock/metal

I remember when i saw them in Warped Tour 2010, Oli's voice was okay but you could tell he didn't take care of his voice. Then I saw them again in 2017 and was impressed how well Oli could sing live. He definitely made HUGE improvements to sound better in concerts. Super proud of them
this is true, his voice use to sound pretty far gone, i use to think that was why they switched away from the super heavy stuff. bc i saw them live in 2013/2014 and his voice didn’t seem like it had much left in it 😭😭 glad that he worked on improving it!
