Mordred says like, "Oh, you snuck in here and injured Ragnarok, but you'll never defeat him!!!" Shadow glares at the peice of shite, "Lot of bark from a mook." The manga nailed this episode, so that is just what I'd hope for, sadly.
Well in the anime version we got Epi and Beta roasting Mordred so getting another version is a big plus for someone who has already read both manga and light novel 😇.
On your tangent of the strings, he just reinforces them to make the corners, move them mid air and tighten the pull. That said i think after the john smith arc he uses slime instead of metal strings like before. The slime strings are a lot better since he can manipulate them however he wants, he doesn't need the environment to move his strings.

Remember shadow can harden magic. basically his string (which actually are slime in non anime sources) he can control it like feelers. The blood magic he learn fighting Aurora and Elizabeth and fighting as John smith allow him to do this.
38:34 Minori Kagano was bashing his head into a tree(the ground?) out of frustration that he could not obtain magic in that world. Then, with his sight all loopy, the headlights looked like what could only be magic, so he ran at it. Boom. Isekai.
I'm glad you watched this. The last episode Eminence got so warped by the studio, I can't bring myself to watch any reactions to it. The sheer magnitude of content changes damn near destroyed my geek heart.

Clearly the strings ends with it connecting to a part of ragnarok, but that's just my theory on the string
