I love that they subtly referenced Paget Brewster's previous character, Debra the IT Lady, later in the season. When Frankie tries to contact the IT Department for help after the WIFI is shut down, she mentions that the IT Woman is missing.
Lol she also says that she gets a high pitched ringing tone on the other side which is because she’s calling herself

She also says she moved here to looka fter an insane family member. So maybe that was never an IT lady and Debra was just having fun that day.
As a humble outsider who came in and nailed it, they had better put Frankie in the movie!

The character of Frankie was one of the best late-introduced characters in any show I've seen in my 50+ years.

@@expiredmilk5435 Elroy was better for the wakky stuff. Frankie was better for the more serious stuff. We needed both of them.
Really hope Frankie is in the movie. Her no-nonsense attitude was a good pallet cleanser for how silly the group would act at the last season.
(That doesn't mean i hated it).
What would be hilarious would be if she was in the movie as the IT lady

I really liked Frankie on this season. Great dynamic between her and the dean. I hope she is back for the movie along with Elroy

Frankie was great. Shame she only did one season…because it was the last one of the show, at least until the movie comes out. Man, I hope she is in it.
If it makes you feel better, she was upgraded from small side character to main cast.

Frankie's eventual epic takedown of the Dean was set in motion with this introduction of the character.
Kinda sad that this is the only farewell Shirley got, compared to Pierce and Troy who both got an entire banger episode each
But she got a quite funny after-credits (mid-credits?) scene later on
Yvette's departure was unexpected. The "taking care of her father" is real. Still she was available enough to have her in closing tags and one scene with the rest of the cast.
She got more than Hickey & Duncan
Chang thinking Abed isn't comfortable with him is so funny. Subtle joke that took me a second to get but it hit hard!

I can’t believe I only just got the spelling joke. Chang thinks Annie’s spelling Chang and not Change, so believes that she’s saying Abed doesn’t like him. 😂
In her own words Frankie came in late and nailed it. Her energy of "Thinks she's the normal one but this level of 'normalcy' is also totally insane." Is great and her jokes regularly hit. Season 6 is underrated and I say that while believing the worst episode by far is in it

finished watching community for the 8th time today , and i really sat down and season 6 grew up on me , now to watch letterkenny the last season
frankie won our hearts in the end but they really wanted us to hate her when she threatens to take the ladders class away from us
The look Abed gives Chang when the Dean introduces Frankie as the new Shirley is priceless

Honestly I think Frankie was one of the best characters.
It's really too bad Yvette had to leave the show so suddenly for personal reasons. Her character's departure was so unceremonious, and she really deserved a proper send-off.

No Offence. But this season was a torpedo ridding a shark into redundant. Clearly some people couldn't find other work and needed a paycheck.

They're really not comparable, I think. Like Hickey was a little like a Pierce substitute (though with more general gruffness rather than Pierce's obsession with being included) but Frankie was more like an amalgamation of a bunch of the other characters. Jeff's straightman role, Abed's brainweird, Annie's neuroticism, Britta's more conscientious attitude. I think she was fairly clearly designed to have at least something in common with most of the remaining characters so she could be integrated into things without needing to spend as much time establishing character dynamics with the others.
To be fair, the writers didn't know what to do with Shirley since season 5.
Maybe even season 4 unless you consider her taking a class of Physical Education Education as development.
She was the better Shirley. Not fat and not … you know
