Carbon Leaf - Lake Of Silver Bells

- Float from the balcony, we ride the pinetop swells
Down from the old hotel on the lake of silver bells
And leading is lonely when you make alone decisions
Leading is lonely when youre dancing through derisions
So much left for giving in, the year of living dangerously happy
On the lake of silver bells
Life flickers by a hundred suns behind the trees
Melts us in a lullaby our eyelids are like movie screens
And we close our eyes and feel the warmth come into frame
We close our eyes until our dreams become one and the same
So much left for giving in, the year of living dangerously happy
On the lake of silver bells
We dance across til we drop, the bells keep time and never stop
We sleep and we wake to muffled chimes out on the lake
We dance across til we drop, the bells keep time and never stop
We sleep and we wake on the lake of silver bells
Weve reached the secret place to rest and reconcile
We close our eyes, the only change is no change for a while
Were by the old hotel and we will make this place our own
And fill each room with sons and daughters and never be alone
And we dance across til we drop, the bells keep time and never stop
We sleep and we wake to muffled chimes out on the lake
We dance across til we drop, the bells keep time and never stop
We sleep and we wake on the lake of silver bells
Looking past the love you face, you miss the place you never had
What you needs not just the dream, but something on the other end
Wake up, wake up
Wake up, youre much too fast asleep
And we dance across til we drop, the bells keep time and never stop
We sleep and we wake to muffled chimes out on the lake
We dance across til we drop, the bells keep time and never stop
We sleep and we wake on the lake of silver bells
The lake of silver bells
The lake of silver bells
The lake of silver bells
Leading is lonely, ooo
Just saw them in Dallas. These guys should be playing front of way bigger crowds......they bring a lot of joy to my life. Well done gents. Enjoy the summer sausage.
I used to think all the good songs were already written until I heard Carbon Leaf. Great stuff and I'm glad I found about them thanks to Laura Ingraham.
Many of my favorite songs can only be listened to if I'm in a certain kind of mood. This song fits any mood that I'm in, anytime and anywhere. That's why I love it so much.
A beautiful song and one of the better albums ever.
The first time I heard this song, it was shadowed by how amazing the rest of the album was. On subsequent listens, I realized that this might be the best song on the album, which is really saying something.
I am so glad these guys are still around. Im going to a concert of theirs at the end of this month, and could not be more excited about it.
This is such a beautiful and I agree and this song and band need more exposure. Such talent should not be wasted.
I just found out about this song yesterday, and I've already listened to it around seven times. Thanks a lot for uploading this amazing song!
Love this song!
o my gosh i just heard this song and i absolutly love it
One of the worlds most underappreciated bads ever
Decent album, no where near as intricate as Indian Summer. People that like this song should give that album a listen.
Interesting band. I fell in love with this person and noticed she likes this band so checked them out. Now if to only make a song she likes. Good stuff. Poetic lyrics
Zach Loyd wrong motivation. Trust me. Write a song from your heart and soul. If she doesn't like it..fuck her
I'd never heard the studio version of this song 'til just now. (It's such a shame I've never taken the initiative to listen when I've seen them live three times and have 5 of their albums -_-)
This song is so good, and it's even a thousand times better live-so powerful and always gives your stomach that tingly feeling. It's so powerful
So umm....i watched them play this song on the Toad tour and now i'm addicted to Carbon Leaf
love this band(:
*dude.* Your words are perfect for this song. It really is powerful as Zeus live. I love these guys!
This song should have been the second single off the album.
I don't know how you guys do it. The harmonies in this song are flipping amazing. I hope to see you all again in concert again soon :) I'll even bring the Blue Dog costume. ;)
Keep up the fantastic artistry, my friends. If you ever need a random animal costume made for a video or such, look me up. ;)
i was at the longwood garden show last night
I adore this song. But it has such seriously sad lyrics I tear up nearly every time I hear it.
@Huzzamaster Yes, they always kick ass at Shamrockfest, and really any concert. Shamrockfest this year was pretty epic, except for the rain.
@chocolattepi no i was at the knoxville showing, but i wish i went to every show lol
Dang right ;)
I love this album and this song is rad as hell, but what's up with the 3 minutes of silence when it finishes?
Anyone know why there is almost 3 minutes of nothing at the end of the song? :( Makes it a lousy addition to a playlist.
tripmanusaify to help prevent youtubes automatic copyright thingy from catching it, making it harder for it to say "hey thats a thing with the same keywords as this song, and its the same length"
(yes i know its been 5 months)
A timely response, but it answers my question well enough. Danke.
eh, i don't know. WMM was acting weird and I didn't notice it added all that blank space.
bands**
@boilingpots Greenday wasnt bad in the beginning, before they were all like WE HATE AMERICANS (and the government) but i totally agree it is a shame
I don't know...I like this song I guess, but it just doesn't feel like Carbon Leaf at all. It's so drastically different from their style.
