  • On the eve of NATO’s 75-year anniversary celebration in Washington DC, the co-author of NATO: What You Need To Know joined Talking Foreign Policy: an internationalist perspective on Canadian foreign policy. David Swanson details how the alliance launches wars of aggression and promotes arms sales. He also discusses NATO's role in provoking conflict in Ukraine, its increasing focus on China and the opposition to the US-led alliance.

@@zakkak4212 dumb logic is NATO causing trouble where there was none to begin with. The Soviet Union collapsed 30 years ago. Instead of deescalation, NATO escalated by continually expanding toward the Russian border. Is it any surprise that the Russians reacted aggressively? But why stop there? NATO still didn't learn, and is now expanding to the opposite side of the continent. Clearly a bite in the azz isn't enough.

Only a Russian troll would ask such a stupid question. In the West, no one believes that Russian Ukrainians are under merciless bombardment, as the majority have been deported from the Donbass to Russia or killed after being forced into the militias of the fake republics. Even Vladimir Milov, a former Kremlin official, has stated that your assertion is false. He should know, as he heard FSB officers who created this false narrative laughing and joking about it during lunch in the Kremlin.

If it wasn't MacGregor, it may have been one of the other military Russia-friendly guys, like Ritter or Wilkerson. I was kind of shocked to hear a retired US Military or CIA agent saying that Canada was nuts to stay in NATO. I'd love to be present when Trump goes off again about how Canada isn't spending enough so we can say , "No worries, We're out of here" The thing that pisses me off though is that Canada is committed to spending a fortune on the F35 , a solely offensive weapon. Talk. Only talk. Speeches that have no political value dilute the essence. Recent planned events in the world have shown that there is power behind the terms 'democracy', 'globalism for the common good', 'threats from others' and other platitudes for the masses. The decades-long fact about the creation of that organization, which has been destroying many countries and peoples for decades, has been correctly stated... However, it should be remembered that practically Canada and Australia are British dominions or colonies, and that they must participate directly or indirectly in wars. The time has come to once again send people to war and not just military tools and machines, and this will happen without distinction to a small part of the powerless to change public opinion. The masses in the world have no power. Power is concentrated in mentored 'elected' governments. Everything else is just 'speech' trickery, as well as mandatory voting, where the 'winner' is known in advance.

The US was on the way to becoming a global Hegemony regardless of NATO. These guys are pretty ignorant. The fact of NATO has probably been the best thing in respect to US power. Imagine how unhinged the USSR and USA “Cold War” would have been if the US didn’t have to pause and get consensus from all of these other nations. The USSR didn’t have to listen to anyone so they took all of Eastern Europe and the Baltics. Then the USSR went into Asia and Africa. The US would have had to act like European powers of the past and build a “real” Empire to counter the USSR. This global hegemony has led to the most peaceful and prosperous periods in modern human history.
