Hello Anyss. I have little info regarding this sub. Maybe I'll share it later once I have adequate infos. As of now you can try and look into each IPTAs' websites that offers Master in Ophthal or the FRCOpth and connect to those who have done it previously. I suggest social media groups are fine.
Hi Dr. Ainul.. For the MRCP exam, is it an online exam or given as written paper at the exam centre?
It was physical until covid.
Salam Dr Ainul, first of all I really love your informative videos, i am currently finishing my housemanship and i am a student from cyberjaya university, all my life alhamdullilah my parents paid all my tuition fees which means i am a self sponsored students. just one question lets say kalau one saya sudah habis HO, perlukah saya mohon kerja sebagai permanent staff KKM untuk saya pursue Masters In General Surgery kalau saya student self sponsored? maksudnya, selepas sahaja tamat HO saya terus guna wang simpanan sendiri untuk masuk belajar Masters sama ada di local atau abroad
Waalaikumsalam. Congrats 😊 Choices are:
1. Apply permanent KKM, mohon Master.
2. Leave KKM, apply surgery under University, become a private candidate for Master.
Do follow groups in FB such as Junior MOs united and Beyond Housemen Malaysia etc. They sharw great stuffs inside.
Sadly being self sponsored and being a contract doctor are two different things. They don't relate to each other in this scenario.

Wassalam Anas. For any foreign doctors there will be an exam provided by Malaysian Medical Council MMC that should be taken prior practicing in Malaysia. But this depends whether the degree is recognised in Malaysia or not. You can find more info in their website ya :) Can call or send them an email as well.
Assalamualaikum Dr, nak confirm kan kalau masih contract MO still tak dapat join master program kan? & apa possibility utk join master program under KPJ/sunway as in private hospital?
Waalaikumsalam Hidayah. Iya penempatan master program akan diutamakan kepada permanent doctors dahulu. Peluang untuk sertai program dibawah swasta ada beberapa pilihan bergantung kepada bidang yang dipilih juga.

Dr, agak agak kalau ikut parallel pathway, umur berapa ye baru dapat jadi pakar perubatan? 30 ek? Hahaha.. And masa ambil master or parallel path, boleh ke dalam masa sama kita jadi HO or MO? I mean, kita bekerja dalam masa yang sama...
Depends juga umur kita mula bekerja. Ada yang dah habis HO umur 25, boleh jadi pakar lebih awal. Yup boleh ambil parallel pathway waktu HO/MOship 😊

Ty Dr, but I hv a question, is FRCEM recognised in Malayisa. If so, how early can I sit for the exam? I already did some research but I can't seem to find the answer. Hope Dr can clear this out :)
Salam Fayyad. Yes FRCEM is a recognised specialist pathway in Malaysia. You can go for FRCEM Primary as long as you have your MMC number. Which means, it can be sat as early as prior to your HOship. You can try and search for FRCEM groups in FB. A lot of info are shared inside.

hello Dr Ainul, im interested to become a medical student, from what i know it takes 8/10 years to habiskan degree and ho, after that can i still become a doctor for a while utk balancekan pendapatan and then baru smbung to become a specialist? or you must continue study terus? ive been wondering abt this but i can’t find any good sources . thankyouu !
Hello 😊 Basically
1. Medical degree 5-6 years
2. Housemanship 2 years
After completing housemanship, you'll be a medical officer. Depending on what specialty you want to pursue, you can start taking international exams (such as MRCP, MRCPCH, MRCOG, etc) since housemanship and continue it once you become a medical officer. Therefore to reach specialist level will take around 8-9 years starting degree.

Yes. Depending on where you are practicing.

Doktor, masa ambil master, tak boleh eh jadi mo dalam masa yang sama? Means dalam masa study, kerja sekali.. Ha gitu😂andd kalau nak jadi pakar keluarga dalam paralell pathway yang mana satu ya? Mrcpi ke?
Boleh juga. Belajar sambil bekerja. Kerja tu dikira training. Kalau FMS ada 3 pilihan laluan kepakaran. Saya ada buat video tentang FMS. Boleh try cari ya 😊

Wkslm. Wow. Banyak negara ada. Haha. You have to choose which country you want to work in, and see what's the criteria accepted.
Dr, misalnya belajar di universiti luar negara, contohnya, medic di universiti harvard, then boleh ke bekerja di Malaysia and ada kontrak ke means kena bekerja di sana selama bbrp bulan?
Boleh. Proses pendaftaran untuk kerja di Msia sama iaitu perlu isi MMC, dan beberapa pengesahan sijil etc. Kalau nak mohon HOship di UK pun boleh.

Hi Gaya, depends on which department you choose. Parallel pathways can be taken even before & during HOship (ex: Mrcp/mrcog, etc). Master program can only be taken after 1-2 years of MOship.

hi, are there any examination centres for mrcPsych in Malaysia, I went to the website but I cant find the list of examination centres for mrcpsych
Not yet a recognised specialisation pathway in Malaysia. On its way to get recognition. You can take it overseas as there's no Malaysia centre yet.
@@ainuljusti hi doctor, am i able to undergo training as a psychiatrist in malaysia after doing mrcPSYCH in other centres , or masters is the only way to be a psychiatrist in malaysia..
It's on its way to be recognised in Malaysia soon. Do take it as it is valuable. 😊 If you just started I hink by he time you finish the papers most likely MrcPsych is already a recognised pathway in Malaysia.
Hello Dr Ainul, I have one question regarding MRCP. There are rumors saying that with just 12 months after graduation and without 12 months working experience as houseman, you can still able to apply for MRCP part 1. Is this true?
Hi Jason, yes depends on which centre you're applying.

Previously 2 depending on which time of the year, KL sometimes Penang, even Borneo last time. During and after Covid I'm not sure where and how it will be held.

Hi Dr, is it true a contracted MO have to complete 4 years of compulsory service after housemanship in order to further in specialise training thru parallel pathway? If so, what happened for those contracted MO just served for 2 years without any extension?
Hi Siew Hen. Contract MOs have to complete 2 years of compulsory service under KKM. After that their contract will either be:
1. renewed for 1 or 2 years
2. Absorbed as permanent
3. Terminated
Current cases see MOs are terminated after 2 years of service or be continued as contract. Contract means they will not be able to join Master Program under KKM, therefore parallel pathway is the choice.
Parallel pathway can be taken anytime even during HOship, not necessarily after completing 2 years of compulsory MOship.

Nak tanya pendapat Dr, berbaloi tak kalau sambung degree mbbs as second degree sbb peluang kerja as MO skrg macam tipis sikit sebab ramai sgt graduan perubatan. Saya dah ada 1 degree in health sc dan plan nk amik degree ke2, mbbs tapi bila saya survey job opportunity as MO still as contract.
@@sitiaishah9311 Assalam Aishah. Not worth it. The road is long and the chance is limited in Malaysia, unless Aishah sedia kerja luar negara. Might as well ambil course yang akan well sustained in the future. Anything related to technology. Kalau minat kesihatan, boleh ambil course medical related tech. Mbbs totally not worth it ya 😊

Haha no problem.. Be clewr why you want to get a degree. Many jobs nowadays do not emphasize on degree, rather skills and implementation. And these can be learnt online. All the best.

Setiap department ada pakar masing-masing. Dalam pembedahan, kita panggil pakar bedah. Ada pakar kanak-kanak, pakar obstetrik etc.😊

Usmle ni untuk masuk bekerja di US. Parallel pathway ni apa-apa jalan untuk jadi specialist.
Dr ainul, selalunya berapa lama ye masa diambil untuk menjadi doktor pakar untuk program master dan parallel pathway ni?
Minimum 4 tahun. Bidang pembedahan selalunya lebih lama bergantung kepada subspecialty yang diambil 😊

Boleh ambil Master in Neurosurgery terus tak perlu ambil general surgery dulu. Boleh try tengok video saya yang sebelum ni tentang surgical pathways.

Salam Dr Ainul, for master program in Malaysia, they will prioritize permanent MOs rather than contract MOs right ? So i guess the best way for contract MOs to further in specialty training is through parallel pathway right ? Correct me if i'm wrong. Thank you dr. Have a nice day
Wkslm, yes Amir. They will only accept permanent MOs as of now. Best way for contract doctors to become a specialist is by parallel pathway if you choose to stay in Malaysia. Not much choices except to wait for permanent posts if your interest is surgery or orthopedics (as there is no parallel pathway).
The Masked Dr Ainul If i’m not mistaken , MRCP (Ireland) , the requirement is to wait for 6 months after graduation unlike MRCP (UK) where the doctor need to work at least 12 months before attempting it .
