Since time immemorial, ships have set sail from Scandinavia to discover the East. In order to explore Scandinavia’s past, we visit Vikings who have settled down in a reconstructed medieval village on the coast. Further, we stop by a mysterious historical monument made of large boulders and a historic ship setting. But there is also contemporary art. We continue by touring the oldest sea rescue station in the Baltic region, the endless beaches of Sandhammaren and meet a talented sheep breeder.

Fårö is the small island next to Gotland. The å- sound is like the vowel sound in 'more'.
