It was so long I thought I was missing something. I thought I had to knock stuff into them, like the shadow or silver fight, but no, it was just long and boring.
Didn't even realize you could press the jump button to send out one of the Sonics to attack debris until I went for the no damage trophy, wish the fight was better explained (also wish they added a dodge move with the shoulder buttons or the crouch button). If they did any of those things the final boss wouldn't be as bad and more mechanically interesting to me
So do I. His arc there is so good, it's nice to see him finally live life without Maria being a constant burden, and actually have people he can trust. Maria would have wanted that for him, and I'm sure Shadow thinks that too.
Personally I think Devil doom was my favorite. I loved all the different abilities being used (even the Doom morph) and the 2nd phase is my favorite, using the wings and hearing the All Hail Shadow remix was incredible. Or Metal Overlord they are pretty close.
I can definitely agree, the 4 bosses we got with Shadow Gens were incredible, though I originally wasn't a fan of being forced to fight Metal Overlord on the water the entire time, the hard mode did allow it to grow on me with undefeatable backing up. Though with Mephiles, it was PERFECT, I didn't mind the squid though I think I now figured out how a peculiar jump works.

I have Sonic X Shadow Generations because there's an extra animations with PlayStation versions, there came Sonic movie 3 Shadow picture, Sonic Advdnture Skin and Professor Gerald Robotnic's Journal of Shadow and Maria and it's easier to stream it on PS5 than Switch, but I believe it works and looks good and I NEED to get it for Switch too this is a 10/10 MASTERPIECE GOTY 2024 for me only because it's Fearless year of Shadow: Gotta go FAST, Never turn BACK, I am All of Me, Live and Learn! 😊❤
I know I usually don’t agree with you, but this list was really solid. I might actually put Biolizard at the top spot of the Shadow bosses just because, as good as Mephiles and Metal Overlord are, Biolizard has just regular Shadow gameplay not using the Morph and Surf. And while they’re certainly fun in their own right, they don’t feel quite as good as just plain Shadow. But that’s a maybe, I think all three are really close for me for which I like best. I mean, I know I just said they weren’t as fun, but mastering Doom Surf and Morph to get the S Ranks was really fun. Very solid list, though. I wouldn’t really change anything, outside my conflicted feelings on which Shadow boss is best, since they’re all really fun.
Couldn't agree less on Metal Overlord, fighting it while constantly on a "vehicle" was so repetitive and constantly throwing garbage at it was unrespectful of its legacy (remember when it could only be hurt by a combined attack of Tails, Knux AND Super Sonic?). I think Perfect chaos is my favourite boss fight overall. Even if you don't actually fight it much, i loved platforming to get to it. I'm mixed on the Mephiles fight. It has cool set peices, but it's kinda simple. Especially for a penultimate boss. It's also weird how you don't have to aim when using Doom Blast Metal Overlord is close to being my favourite, but i think the first phase feels just a bit too on rails in terms of when you can do big damage to him. Plus, he's not actually...doing anything for a good chunk of time, with you just having to watch out for terrain.
I’d kind a wish SEGA would have done Knight (titan) for shadow’s side story as well with infinite (but improving more) but as a rival boss (maybe for DLC)
It's not that mephiles is one the best bosses coming even from a bad game, its just that he's a very well written villain in the series, and since he doesn't exist, his story and personality hasn't changed since 2006
The thing that I notice that Shadow Generations have that the other two games don't is the health bar. Like, why is this not standard for boss fights in these games?
8:37 I have a theory on why this might have kept happening to you. You might have to hold down on the control stick because it doesn’t just move you by itself. You can’t just sidestep and win you also have to move forward. The reason I believe this is cuz I just played this fight double checked what u said and beat it with no boost first try during that section, so this is the only explanation I can think of. Sorry for rambling, I just want u to experience this fight with no skill issue whatsoever nice list :)
In the silver fight it is better if u save boost for the end but its not even needed and boost management is not a problem at all since u gain a lot from boosting into the obstacles and all the rings scattered around
I cant comment on the 3DS fights or shadow fights barring biolizard, but I can comment on your ranking or, more accurately, your opinions of base generations bosses, and my god it's a mess, perfect chaos at 10 and silver at 8 has to be a crime of some kind, your shadow and perfect chaos complaints make zero sense, they dont need extra phases, this is literally how they function in their original counterparts and they do a good job at that. Time eater is not one of the worst bosses in sonic history, even though I've only played the classic games, superstars, forces, frontiers and colours, those games have some truly diabolical bosses in their rosters, I'm not calling the time eater good, but he gets way too much hate. Also your complaint of big arms design is just unnecessary, his design shouldn't be such a factor of why you don't like it, considering the original looks the same with the same name and that fight is awesome.

I much prefer mephiles to metal overlord. Metal overlord felt like just another chase the boss, where as with mephiles it was like an actual arena boss
Yeah agree while Metal Overlord was still a great boss fight, I’ve think too many people are glazing it. It has issues with Shadow not always responding to jumping or tricking off the ramps which made the S Rank Harder than it needed to be, especially on Hard.

I actually found the Time Eater boss pretty hard on the Xbox 360 when I was young.

Fun fact about mephilis if you hit him with chaos spear while he is down you can wail on him before kicking him to the sky
With silvers final attack you have to point down in order to move to him, pointing up will make you decelerate and be killed. Hope this tip helps.

The 3ds Version of Time Eater is better then the Console version of Time Eater because can can’t listen to Sonic Friends saying “It’s a Homing Shot”
At least the remaster allows you to disable character voices in the options so you don't have to hear that annoying line

this might also be the “speed up automatically” thing ur referring to at 9:10

the silver's last attack is actually fixed int the remaster thx to the "useless" drop dash. if youre out of boost spam the drop dash and itll work
