You are so right about the structured handbag! A structured bag looks so much neater and more stylish than a slouchy bag. Personally I never buy any bag that doesn't: stand up on it's own, have metal feet to keep it off the floor, and have handles that don't fall over onto the floor. In other words, a classic structured bag! It elevates every outfit, even sweats and jeans.
I notice trends but have classic taste … and have been wearing pointy shoes since the 80s because I like them. (There were some square-toed in the 90s, though.) I have definitely been lazy and worn things I no longer liked because I don’t enjoy shopping. Your informed, entertaining and non-judgmental delivery has gently nudged me to care more about my appearance. I don’t care what others think about my appearance; their opinions are none of my business. I do care about feeling good, though. I needed a wake-up call.
I live in jeans too but I have started buying colors other than blue. I have “raisin”, black and dark green cords. I mix and match lt gray, black, pink and tan with then all. It works and is less predictable. Plus I have fewer clothes in my closet because they all go together.
This is my favorite kind of fashion video: classic and polished. I love blazers, pointed toes, well fitted jeans or trousers, and classic stripes! A monochromatic outfit makes me feel so good. I am on workday Zoom calls multiple times a day. So, I am still lining my eyes, lips, contour, etc. working remote is such a benefit that I do not take for granted. I enjoy “showing up” remotely every day. That might be a good future video, Anna❤
I have discovered an amazing hack for pointy toe shoes. I take a square of small size bubble wrap and wrap my toes before inserting my foot in the shoe. You can just throw it away after wearing. It keeps your feet comfortable all day.
Do the bubbles “pop” at inconvenient times like during a mtg or church service? What are the inserts for? To stop your feet from sliding forward? I don’t know because I haven’t worn them before 😊
Hi Anna.. great video as usual. I still have not bought the pointy shoes. I love that you found some that are comfortable. I finally put all of my black clothes together, all my beiges and off whites, all the greys etc in my closet. Then the pops of color if I don’t want to do monochromatic are camis or tanks. It has made my getting dressed so easy. You made me laugh about getting ready for church services because since we have not gone anywhere big since my husband had his two knee replacements now we are back in church and I think yay I can finally have something on besides shirts and a tank. I think we are getting cold weather soon. These warm days do nothing for the cold weather outfits in our closets. Thanks Anna. Your energy is so great and contagious. I always feel frumpy in cardigans, except for waist-length, thin-knit ones, buttoned up and worn as a top. I really prefer a blazer, especially a classic, fitted one. If I need more comfort, I wear one of my knit blazers - they have the structure of a blazer, but the comfort of a sweater.

Great video - I do keep all my like colors and clothes types together in my closet - it really helps when styling an outfit (although now I feel like David Beckham and his closet!!) I feel trends and styles are coming back quicker than ever. 4 years ago I bought a dress for a trip which didn't happen due to Covid. I've never worn it (a dress is not something I have a lot of need or call for), and this year I have seen almost identical dresses on several sites and not only that, it is in a pattern that is mainly green, which again is very trendy. This makes me very happy, as it wasn't a waste of money, and the dark green suede, pointed toe block heels I bought to go with it are also still in! Love your striped sweaters.

I tried to dress in a more polished feminine way but I figured that I don't feel comfortable in a chanel inspired jacket or a maxi skirt, though they don't look bad on me, I don't feel like myself. I still feel like a student, and enjoy wearing bomber jacket or rugby shirt, straight jeans, and sneakers. a part of me knows that I'm getting older and should wear more "mature" clothes, but another part feels like the casual uni-sex look is what I feel most confident in. I'm in a pretty confused phase now. 😅
I think you should go with what you feel your best in. You are proud of how you look, you feel comfortable in it, and it makes you want to speak up / show up not shrink back... that's what you wear! Whatever that looks like ❤️

Living in Minnesota, I never know what to do with shoes from Nov-April. I get tired of boots and would love to try a pointy toe flat or a loafer but with the pant lengths being shorter and your ankle/skin showing….that just looks weird when it’s 20 below. Do I wear outside winter boots and change to shoes once inside or would that look weird with snow blowing outside?

As someone who looks awful in all shades of red, I find hot pink a good alternative. I also think it looks nice and subtle with animal print 💕

I never liked the heavy, dark eye makeup look, with the “glam” false lashes. I think natural-looking makeup is much more classy, elegant and always in style. People want to see your beautiful faces, not your makeup!
