  • Quick sale desired to buy new toy. See video at • Economy - Jim Dandy - ... Great little 14 horse tractor. I don't know too much except I needed or wanted a tractor with front end loader and back hoe and didn't want to spend too much. The previous owner said he went trough it front to back with his boys as a project. This little guy was the answer to my broken sewer line prayers! Yes... it's old. 1969 - 1974 something. Controls are old school. Gear driven - Slow - and heavy for such a small machine. I have owned it for a few years and replaced the tires with turf tires. Yes... I pick on it for what it isn't, but what did I expect for under $5k? Small tractors with so much are 12k plus! Back Hoe attachments are $4k by themselves.
This little guy has always started - always did what I asked it - and never ever let me down. I've back dragged my 1200ft long drive with the front bucket for hours - dug deep trenches - a small pond my Wife made me fill in because of the dogs getting muddy - and moved tons of gravel and it just keeps on going never giving me problems. It's an awesome little toy....or "tool", if my wife is around. They don't build them like this anymore. Seriously....you can't buy them this size with so much. My Dad in Maine bought a $16k Kubota with loader and it can't take a back hoe.
Size of the back tires are 24" high. I'd say width is 48" to 60" wide. Back hoe is permanently attached. I have greased the thousand fittings (joking kinda') and kept all fluids up. It has a starter, but came without a battery and I've never needed it. I pull start the engine. No matter how long it has sat it always starts up winter, spring, or fall. Hydraulics leak a bit and lines old, but never broken.
It is a collectible in the Jim Dandy - Power King - Teramite world. I found some great clubs locally and bought decals thinking I'd restore it, but time gets away from us all. Should be red, but someone painted yellow. I've never cleaned it up. Would probably look much better clean.
If you have weekend projects and hate digging and wheel barrows this is an awesome toy....or "tool" if your Wife is listening.
I would never sell it, but a friend has a larger machine I can put a scrape blade on for sale. I'd like to keep this just for the back hoe, but my Wife says one "tool" or the other.
    $4,800 OBO. Call up to 10:00PM 828 Two 31 six 9 Six 6.
