First rx8 got to 207k og engine but it now sits because it was murdered by a dedicated squirrel. It was going to need a lot of work anyway but almost nothing on that car ever broke. It was practically a tank, went to most of the lower 48 states over 10 years in it. Fast forward to now, I’ve gotten 10k miles driven on a ‘10 r3 and my clutch pedal has broke, passenger door handle exterior broke once, drivers side broke twice, coin compartment exploded on me same day the drivers door handle broke last. Bunch of other things but still..
A few questions from someone who has never owned a rotary car - There's one near me for sale (2011 rx8 $1,500) I'm not sure on the mileage yet. The owner's description says, it has a hard start but was running before it was parked. Also, I really like the body style of this car but like I said, I've never owned a rotary car. 2nd question - is there a V6 (that you know of) that will sit right down in it without having to make crazy mods? I've been a 1960s (Chevy) muscle car guy all my life. I say this to kinda give you an idea of what I'm used to as far as performance cars lol.
Thanks for this info. Sent it to my son who was looking at a 59K 2008 example here in Australia. Good cars but IMHO not the best choice for a first car for a poor College student. Mazda 3 SP25 perhaps.....
B - We had ours in high school and loved it, it all depends on how well they are maintained. But we did run into quite a few problems.. Mazda 3's are great.
First time rx8 buyer, if I could find a decent example would be be smart to slowly build a motor on the side? (Say I got one with like 50-75k miles) I also have a daily so this car would most likely be an every couple days car. I know it’s not cheap but that’s why I said build over time. Any feedback from the community would be nice! (Can’t say at this moment if I want to boost the car or not but I know that would be something to be considered as well)
@@8020Media looking to grab one as it seems a lot of good examples are a coming out, but there’s also a lot of the cheaper ones also on the market I’d like to say definitely a lot more turds than gems 🤣
From the most reliable compared to a 💩box 95" civic to a most fun and fastest than a BMW z4. Is obviously the most hated 😂 Doritos is not for everyone as well how Ferraris and exotic cars are not for everyone 🥱
250k on mine still going strong
H - Nice! Sounds like you've got a good one and you take great care of it.
@@8020MediaMaintenance is key, there is no such thing as a good one.
First motor? How many rebuilds
D - yes.
The amount of stuff you've gotten wrong bums me out
B - We'd love to hear what we got wrong.

Compared to some of the problems new cars have these days the RX-8 is no worse.
J - Depends.

A - I'm sure a lot of people.

A - This is true!
