I really hate welding and I feel like thats all I've been doing the past couple months but its required so it is what it is... We are working on the rear wheel drive conversion as most of you know this use to be front wheel drive but now im doing the rwd swap on my V8 Honda Prelude! #creatornow - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
That gen prelude looks like it should have been RWD from the get go. Always liked the look of those
all gens look like they shouldve been rwd
could you imagine if Honda made a new Prelude that could match up a bit with cars like Camaros and Mustangs while being a bit lighter? Base model with L15 turbo and Type-SH with K20C1. Would be amazing.

Awesome. These never got their due. I had two 4th gens and loved both. Yhe second one, a 95 VTEC, was pretty damn fast. All it jad was a cam, headers, exhuast and a tune but the thing really moved. I always wanted to se a RWD Prelude.

I’m so glad you said you believe they should have came RWD. The prelude chassis to me was always a mind boggle. They built a car that looked like it was rwd, but it was a fwd chassis. And to me that was absolutely ridiculous. I feel like if the prelude was a RWD chassis to begin with, then it would be as prevalent in the drift community as the Nissan S chassis
and despite the price, people would have ACUTALLY bought them. like you said it would be like a 240sx but with Honda build quality people would have justified the price delta

Great work as always Luke! I'm so glad you shortened those, I'm not sure if it's better for the suspension geometry but I'm sure it will help the stiffness, plus your rear compartment has much more potential now (seat area, cargo area, subwoofer foundation, whatever you know...)

I've been dreaming of doing rwd conversions for years and I'm finally starting to see people taking on this task. I like cars like the Prelude and Celica, but fwd ruins it for me. I'm contemplating going all out and making an rwd swapped car, but I feel like I should probably just buy a rwd car instead since it'd be cheaper or around the same and be ready for drifting. I'm not sure what the move is, but I'm excited to start building and drifting. I should mention that this would be my first build, but I'm willing to take on the challenge so long as it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Great progress Luke! You wanting to be different is totally relatable. 😊 My twin engine prelude is my pride and joy. Did you consider rear LCA angle for anti-squat during acceleration for weight transfer? Can’t wait to see this project driving! Our preludes need to meet one day

U don’t need a v8 to make power, and such a big engine on such a small car, would make it even more front weighted

After you patch the floor, are you gonna leave it patched or will you put the rear seat back in as well?
Rear seats in preludes were pretty useless, likely more so with rwd conversion.

When manufacturing cars i,m sure it is cheaper to build FWD, mate the body up with a complete engine/gearbox rather than installing each unit separately!!

In most of the US, if you start with something that already has a VIN, you can do whatever you want and no one is the wiser! Look at all the vette-karts roaming around.
