This is a 50" Casablanca Mercury ceiling fan in the Bright Brass and Copper finish, shown with a K4TB-2 light kit and a set of elusive Hi-Gloss Rosewood Cane blades. This fan utilizes a K-55 induction motor, rubber flywheel and features 3 speeds in forward/reverse. The model number is 22M32D and the serial number reads CB18383 which dates this fan to have been made March 18th, 1992, being the 383rd fan made that day.
By the late 1980's, Casablanca began to introduce several "modern" designs to their lineup. With the introduction of the Meridian/Halogen Star in 1989, the Mercury soon followed suit in 1990 as essentially the 3-speed counterpart to that model. Of course there is the focal point here being the set of Hi-Gloss Rosewood Cane blades. I may be biased to say that Casablanca did it the best but these are truly a very rich looking interpretation of the cane-insert design. By the early 90's cane began to fall out of fashion, Casablanca's Rosewood Cane was introduced in 1988 and only lasted until 1990 before all their cane blades being discontinued in 1992. Interestingly, this set of blades actually came with this particular fan. I assume since this fan's from 1992, this blade set was left over stock at this lighting showroom. The cane has a tighter/smaller weave than other designs from that time and the hi-gloss lacquer was even coated over the cane giving it a unique and richer look than what most other manufacturer's offered at that time.
Overall this fan performs as great as you'd expect from an early 90's Casablanca. The finish has some minor clouding/pitting but the performance is second to none.

That combo is so classy. With a K4TB and B567C blades, it's so lovely. The Halogen Star originally came out in 1987 as a Lamps Plus exclusive until they made it into the showroom lineup in 1989 while the Meridien came along. B567C Hi-Gloss Rosewood cane came out in 1987.
