      1. He admits that his faith was "imperfect and needed to be better"
      2. Decided to study deeper to better understand what he had previously assumed
      3. Didn't study the best arguments from both sides
      4. With "imperfect" faith, he did a one-sided biased homosexual-affirming "deep study" of the passages.
      5. Changed his mind to the only view that his study was slanted towards
      6. TADA!
"I invested so much time and energy and effort and money into my relationship with my kids, including this boy here, who I love dearly. I don't want to wreck that by saying 'Matthew, I'm not going to affirm you and the best thing I can do for you is steer you away from this.' I could see that that would be potentially the end of our relationship"... He DID put his family over his faith. He said himself and then denied it on the other side of his mouth, later... Before the "study" began, he had already made up his mind, as he created the dichotomy of family or faith.

I also want to add that Paul uses the term para phusis later in Romans to say it was unnatural for God to accept gentiles into the Jewish faith (but he did it anyway). So even if something is para phusis (contrary to nature), that can’t mean it’s immoral because God is perfect and he did things that are unnatural as well.

1 Corinthians 11:14 also says “Does not the very NATURE of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him”, but if you remember the story of Sampson and Delilah, God told Sampson to never cut his hair. So even if something is considered unnatural, that can’t mean it’s inherently wrong because God did many things that went against nature and asked people to do things that were considered unnatural at the time.

Leviticus 20:13 ~ If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.
Jude 1:7 ~ Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.
Romans 1:26-28 ~ For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.
Mark 10:6-9 ~ But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. Love Matthew Vines. He has done so much good. Glad his dad was open to exploring and learning/growing and especially that he is loving. There's just one point I'd like to make: "LGBT," "LGBTQ," and "LGBTQIA" are not synonyms for gay! LGB is sexuality. T is body issues. It is not a sexuality. T people can be homosexual, heterosexual, or bisexual so, to refer to homosexuals, we should say "Homosexual," "Lesbian," or "Gay." To refer to transgender people, we should say 'Transgender." This way, we are accurate and avoid confusion about exactly who we are talking about.

    • @Test_Card_Tom
      @Test_Card_Tom ปีที่แล้ว

Not quite. Homosexual should not be the term to refer to 'Lesbian' or 'Gay'. 'Homo' means same or man, so the term though technically could refer to Lesbians (same) is more commonly used about men who are same sex attracted and the term 'Lesbian' for women who are same-sex attracted. Gay people often include men who dress in women's clothing (drag) or who are either deliberately or by their own nature 'camp' and express themselves in a flamboyant exaggerated manner. Whereas Homosexuals are men who are simply attracted to other men. That's why I'm glad the letter H is nowhere to be found in that weird LGBTQIA disparate grouping.

The word of God is the true light and if it's not light enough no human thoughts and feelings can be illuminating enough. That's the purpose for a lot of self gratification and no mention of "and we took it to God in prayer and the Holy Spirit led us to so and so". The Holy Spirit is the one that makes all the difference in the Christian's life and ability to live in righteousness and be acceptable to God. On what basis are they judging some quotations as being negative? By what means? This isn't what we need as Christian advice or admonishing. Yes we love everyone and support them in whichever way the word and the Spirit tells us and yet we do not accept sin and whatever the Bible is against.

Until forgiveness of sin is sought my heart truly breaks for those who believe they can brush scripture aside and the brutal death of Jesus on the cross just so a sinful lifestyle can be justified.....to twist, manipulate, add to or subtract from scripture for the sole purpose of embracing sin is disturbing and the wrath to follow should make any and all tremble...vids like this show evidence of not fearing God therefore no true salvation even occurred or sanctification....sad to see the church or so called mainstream church embrace and codify sin as if God never took it seriously. I wonder why only four chapters out of 66 books in the Bible don't discuss sin or it's destruction or its peanlity due?? You think God took all sin as blasphem against Him? The wages of sin is death, mere humans trying to convince God His word is outdated or misquoted or wrong to coddle sin have severe judgement coming...this isn't a woke ignorant child like love is love debate it's about sin and no human will enter the kingdom a sinner or heretic...if you believe standing on judgement day justifying your sinful life to Christ will work good luck...I've read scripture I see what happens to the unregenerate soul....

Very strange for you to write all of those condemnations instead of answering any argument or concern about our modern interpretations. The biggest problem is that anyone saying “maybe we’ve gotten this wrong so let’s just take a close look for the purpose of knowing truth” is (as you put it) “brushed aside” and dismissed as someone who just wants to sin. What did Jesus say about putting unnecessary burdens on people? Maybe you’re not infallible, and neither is your church, and so it could be possible we’ve gotten this wrong- especially because all historical accounts confirm his claims about the types of practices being referred to in biblical times being fundamentally different than what we call “gay” or “homosexual” today. Take care

Is there any proof that an omniscient God did not know how to convey His message so that ALL of creation throughout time would not understand? The Truth is simple and loving, God loves all the people he Created and wants them to have the Holy Spirit of Salvation thru the works Jesus did on the Cross, to be with him and he with them. Period. The Scripture has never and nor has Jesus ever mentioned Homosexuality. God is speaking to people going against their NATURAL SEXUAL DESIRES. The natural desires they were created with. Yes, it is WRONG for a straight person to become lustful and be sexual with their same sex. Just as it is Sinful for a Gay person to be sexual with a straight person of the opposite sex, or to marry and steal from their lives the natural sexual Love that could not be given. We must be true to ourselves and God, only then can we all have the PEACE that goes beyond understanding. We’re claiming that you’ve projected a prejudice onto the text that isn’t there, and by reading with an open mind you’ll see that. For example, Matthew isn’t the one who compared hair length and “same-sex acts”, Paul did. Paul used the exact same phrasing for both of those things- they’re against “nature”. Stoicism was the philosophy of the people he was talking to, who attempted to live “in accordance with nature”. As Christians, we’re called to subdue nature not to worship it. Paul said that it’s “shameful” to have long hair, but we choose not to believe that. You tell me why? Ceremonial vs moral laws aren’t a distinction in the Bible- all laws were morally mandated. If you disagree, show me any part of the text that makes that distinction. When you accept that you could be wrong, and re-read the text from an open perspective for the purpose of knowing the truth, people can come to different conclusions. You make a lot of claims but don’t support them- you seem to assume that you must be right. It seems more like you’ve assumed that same-sex couples (relationships which are fundamentally opposed to the specific same-sex ACTS and practices described in the text) must be immoral, and then went to the text looking for any possible confirmation of that.

While I respect Matthew and the work of the Reformation Project, I feel that the focus on the Bible is myopic and does not get at the emperical sociological reasons that intelligent conservatives oppose gay marriage. For instance Catholic lawyer Helen Alvare who opposed Obergefell did so almost entirely through legal appeal to children's rights, noting that for there to be true "marriage equality," gay and straight couples must be equally capable of producing offspring, and to produce offspring, gay couples must by definition involve a third party that will be biologically relaed to the child but not involved in his or her life, and this is parental malpractice, to intentionally bring a child into existence that will be severed from a biological parent. This makes sense, and I have never heard any LGBT organization, conservative or liberal, make a meaningful rebuttal to this. As someone open to a same-sex marriage for myself, I would like answers to more than Bible thumpers. Perhaps that is work for another organization.

    • @tallen3057

I'm just a random theology student, but here's my take. A family doesnt require children, although children are encouraged. A family is borne of a need for companionship in one whom you love. True marriage equality stops there. Now if we get into parenting... that's a different story. In a moral world, everyone would care for their own children. In a fallen world, children are cast aside. Gay couples, then, pick up and care for those children. At least, that would be the argument. They can care for children as well as a straight couple. They only find the opportunity when the child is cast away.

Kind of falls apart when you take into consideration there are hundreds of thousands of people who know they have incurable infertility issues, but still get married. If children are required (which, we’re leaving the Christian realm. The New Testament makes it very clear that procreation is no longer mandated.) than people whom know they cannot have kids should be barred from marriage- especially if one of the partners could have children with someone else.

Because Eve was a great companion for Adam. I guess I missed the part where God commanded Adam to want Eve, rather than that being something he already wanted and God gave him the dignity of choosing. God said “it’s not good that the man be alone, I shall make him a ‘suitable’ helper” and then creates all of the ANIMALS. God brings Adam around to name all of the animals and after he’s done, the text says “a suitable helper for Adam was not found” - explicitly stating that God (who already knew where he’d end up) allowed Adam to choose from the animals if he wanted, but with God by his side they did not find a suitable helper. Then God creates Eve. ADAM says “bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh” and CHOOSES her. God made him an entire person and did not command him to do anything- marriage is a response to an inherent desire within people. It’s not who the people are, it’s how they treat each other. Remember, adam and Eve deliberately disobey God BEFORE the fall, so it’s not as if everything they chose was before the fall was definitely going to be good. I find it curious that after the animals, the very next logical step would be to make another Adam, not a completely new type of person. However, that is never considered nor is it condemned. Adam would want Eve and God knew it, but still let him have the dignity of choosing.

Your Father placed Child over GOD..... Can there be a Balance? Yes most certainly.
I told my Child I loved them, however I chose GODS WORDS to live by ultimately. My Child respected my Belief. We live seperate lives, but very loving together. My child Respects me. I Love & do not ever need to join into their lifestyle... In fact my Child finds being with me refreshing and peaceful. My child loves to come home & sleep 😴 💤.
Parents who want to accept Child over GOD has lost that Child to Sin forever. This Father doesn't want to loose his Child... Fear, changed him. Fear is a negative force of manipulation.
My Children and I have a very strong relationship.. We've reasoned Biblically (and sometimes still do) that GODS WAYS are Higher than our ways... Righteousness is the only pure fear.. I Fear GOD, My Children Respects & Honour my Fear of The LORD and never Challenge, but try to understand it. Little by little they approach me about it & where Society & The Church are intermingling. I remain Strong & they tell me how they appreciate my unmovable Faith.
My Children are Unmovably Loved By Me & They Feel IT... But so is my Trust & Faith in GOD.... I seek to be like JOB.. (ENOCH, ELIJAH, DANIEL, JOHN THE BASPTIS, ETC.... Were Perfect & I feel was in the True Spirit of JESUS The CHRIST...) Studying these Mens lifestyles make me know, anyone living for SELF will be bound in Hell Fire 🔥.
The UNRIGHTEOUS: Homosexual person, Liars, Thieves, etc 1 CORINTHIANS 6:9 -12 + WILL NOT MAKE IT INTO TGE KINGDOM OF GOD ALMIGHTY (Y-H-W )
Any other False Interpretation or False Context HEATS UP TGE FIRE!! 🔥 🤔
STUDYING GODS WORDS & RECIEVING HIS FRESH REVERLATION FOR YOURSELF IS CRUCIAL IN THESE END TIMES🙏🏼 🙌🏽
THE BOOK OF JUDE IS A WARNING ⚠️ OF MANIPULATION & FALSEHOOD....
    ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ DON'T BE DECEIVED !! ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️

@@mikefamm5712 You do understand that we were made male and female and that is the ONLY union talked about by the one who created us, right?
Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. Leviticus 18:22 ~ You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.
What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”

Stick to the Scripture and stay on that point...and you will not get answered by Matthew Vine. He is on sandy soil and CANNOT use Scripture to bolster his argument.

    1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (K J V)
9 KNOW YOU NOT THAT THE 'UNRIGHTEOUS' SHALL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD? BE NOT DECEIVED: NEITHER FORNICATION, NOR IDOLATERS, NOR ADULTERERS, NOR EFFEMINATE, NOR ABUSERS OF THEMSELVES WITH MANKIND,
10 NOR THIEVES, NOR COVETOUS, NOR DRUNKARDS, NOR REVELERS, NOR EXTORTIONERS, SHALL INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD.
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
