Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers Freddie Hubbard trumpet - Wayne Shorter tenor sax - Curtis Fuller trombone - Cedar Walton piano - Reggie Workman bass - Art Blakey drums.
For those who care about details: Set list - Children Of The Night, Skylark, In The Wee Small Hours of the Morning, That Old Feeling, I didn't know what time it was, Mosaic. Personnel - Freddie Hubbard tr. Wayne Shorter ten sax, Curtis Fuller trb, Cedar Walton p. Reggie Workman b. Art Blakey dr.
They vote it down because they don’t understand the music. But there are people who don’t understand the music but they can feel the music. To much music of today is down and bland compared to the great music of the past. These guys are real American idol. Although even that is a bad description. Maybe they are more like musical geniuses.
Bellissima testimonianza.
Art Blakey was an amazing drummer and this whole group was fantastic! I am glad that you like it too! As for why someone would vote it down...I dunno...maybe it wasn't Lady gaga enough? I dunno...
@@Watcher4111 Yes, Yes agree with you 100 % can I be boringly nostalgic, saw Art Blakey, Jazz Messengers, perform at The Free Trade Hall, Manchester, U.K. in 1961, Trumpeter at that time was Lee Morgan, Thelonious Monk, was other half of this concert. Peace to all !!
Wow, these cats are so young they are barely recognizable- Freddie Hubbard, Curtis Fuller, Cedar Walton. As Blakey used to say, he liked them (musician sidemen) young, and after these, he's going to get some other young ones!

Curtis Fuller one off the great trombonist jazz player of the world !!!!
All of Art's groups were fantastic but this frontline was my favorite
Agreed!
And what is it, no info.
@@HopeYourHavingFun check the description for the lineup. I’d have loved to see a listing of the tunes, though!
It takes like two seconds of listening to Art Blakey to know it is Art Blakey.

The audio is sub par. Other than that- its Art Blakey and one of the most classic Messenger lineups. What more is there to say?

As an Italian, i am embarrassed by the presenter...
but the music is more than enough to compensate that.
Best music and the worst conduction ever
'Conduction' in which sense of the word, if I may inquire?
I think he means the woman, the host of the show.
