I think the bike was miss label. The 900SX model came with a lefty front shox. The SL series came with the Headshox. The holes on the bottom was use to fill the BB area with a structural support foam.
Companies were so much more experimental and open minded before. You can never see something like this in 2016. Imagine Specialized releasing a bike looking the same as this!
I have a Raven 900SX Withe the lefty and black and gold python tires. I don't use it often because it gets too much attention when I take it out. I got it free from my cousin and I love this bike.
I have a 95 Raven, the black and green colors, and it is still a fantastic bike. Arne, below, do tell why it was a disaster? The 1st generation had no recalls and mine has been ridden hard for over two decades with few issues. The rear Fox shox did blow out a few years ago and I had it rebuilt. I did also go through a front Super Fatty and replaced it with it like kind. Super agile and and very fast bike. Note to Sick Biker, there is no way your front fork is original to the bike. Nevertheless, the 2nd gen, to my eye, look better than 1st gen.
I love Cannondale Raven mine was extra large frame black 2001 carbon fiber Cannondale’s never get old they’re always brand new they’re worth so much money I’m not gonna mention the price because I paid so much for it at Landis Cyclery in Phoenix Arizona

I had this bike when it came out and it came with a 100mm Lefty fork. not a 60mm fatty. I think they swapped out the fork on you. Maybe it broke or stopped working.
The first gen Super V's with the elevated carbon swingarms looked like nothing else. With the polished front end and clear gloss carbon swingarm colour combination, they are engineering/bike porn at it's finest. Hard to find in condition.
i found one on ebay uk bought it for £250 ,used it for about a year then sold it for more lol, great bike always wanted one back in the day when they were about $2500 !!
Nice bike bro. What is it about the gen2 Raven that is superior to the gen1? I am looking to get a Raven. I see on your bike what looks like a jekyll swingarm. The jekyll swingarms offer extra travel don't they. Regards
+cannondany But Gen1 Raven are not subjected to recalls which means its stronger than Gen2. I also didn't see any Gen1 frames requiring the add-on seat binder like the Gen2
Cannondale had two recalls on Raven II frames (2001 - 2002) due to seat clamp bracket problems & the area around the BB creaking. Basically, they injected an adhesive structural foam through the drain/vent hole near the BB area. BB reinforcement kits were also available from dealers. It's still a beautiful design 🙂 Ditch the CODA parts, they are mediocre at best.
I came across a carbon Super V Raven 1000 SL with Lefty fork. The rear suspension geometry is quite different from your bike in this video. Do you think the bike on ebay is newer or older than yours? Do you know what year this could be? Also, do you know if the Lefty fork came stock with this bike or was added later? Any info you can provide would be much appreciated.
