    Simply amazing as always Blake!! Very basic but elegant. I love the design of this box. You are growing and learning and make the best use of what tools you have available to you, the streamlining of your process is what inspires me by watching your video's. Keep it up. Always looking forward to your next video.

    Blake, I've always felt that your artistry and design flair is the standout feature of your work (that, and your subtle sound editing. always on point). Your creations don't need snazzy colours or design trends to look beautiful.
    I'm really excited to see what you create next, now that the Glowforge can take care of some of the more mundane and time consuming tasks! Personally I think something wave-themed or organic with marquetry would be absolutely lovely, or something with inlays.

    Absolutely beautiful box and I'm tempted to sell an organ I don't use too often to get a glowforge and start doing things like this. And also, the editing! I absolutely love the timing and cuts between shots that goes with the music. For instance the pilot holes at 9:24, and the drill stopping exactly on beat on the last hole, and you blowing of the dust on the next beat. Amazing.

      @joshymcdaniel9233 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t even own a drill honestly had no idea how to use tools 😂 after 6 months of TH-cam woodworking 101 I started buying stuff’
      Most of it
      Comes from just tinkering and not following any “cut list”
      Wood had finally come back to normal prices for a bit it was rough’
      Look at it like this’
      If u really enjoy it it’s a great hobby’ you won’t make a 9-5 living on it’ If u can do it as a hobby make something and sell it for $30-40 bonus!
      I can tell u people are cheap! They would rather have “ikea” type saw dust furniture rather than real wood’
      Great starter for free wood is by using pallets’
      Anyway my point being u can do it’ 🙃 looking back 3 years ago I had nothing’ now I have so much I don’t know where to put it lol’
      Best thing to do is get a good table saw and miter saw’
      A sander and a router’
      Just those few tools you can do so much’
      What I did was make a hall stand etc for someone sell it for $75-80 bucks then buy router bits.
      Repeat now buy drill bits etc’
      Just buy one piece at a time’ keep an eye out on sales’
      Wish u luck it’s a fun hobby and not to mention learning how to build stuff is a skill that can help you do so much more in life’

    Absolutely stunning! A real craftsman built that box. I’m not a woodworker so my power tools are limited. I do have two brand new lasers I am excited to work with. I would do the top of your box idea and frame it or use it in the bottom of a tray. I have a friend that is going to create inlays on his hand made guitars. The possibilities are endless.

    It’s absolutely stunning and couldn’t be anymore perfect! I love the waves in the moon, the mountain scape, and how all the wood veneers including the solid cherry box compliment each other and work together so well! Question, how would you approach this without your Glow Forge for cutting the mountain shapes? I’m assuming a thin blade at the bandsaw or even it’s smaller cousin, I’m wondering how well each veneer and cut would match when done by hand without a machines accuracy? Love these projects and thank you

    You have great design and execution.
    The taping "trick" that you used on the inside of the box could be applied for the splines as well. Tape the corners, cut the grooves for the splines, glue them in and remove the tape with excess glue.
    It is just my thought, I don't know if it would work. Best regards from Croatia 😊

    • @weberwoodshop
      @weberwoodshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Totally unnecessary to tape around the splines though, they get sanded flush after they’re installed and then the whole side of the box gets sanded smooth. So any excess glue gets sanded off anyway.
