Typhoon causes havoc in Manila, Philippines

Typhoon Carina came to Manila on 23rd July 2024. I think it was upgraded to a super typhoon by the 25th. The chaos was clear but filipinos group together in times like this and a great community spirit prevails. The rains were torrential and the floods in some parts of Manila proved fatal to some unfortunate people. But, as an English guy I was interested to see the spirit of filipinos during tough times. They just get on with their tough lives, as you must.

We were also partly affected by this typhoon/monsoon. So sad. They say the floodings was caused by the Manila Bay reclamation projects. Whatever caused it, the government should really do something drastic to prevent this from happening again. :(

I don’t know why or what caused it. But I was impressed by the Filipinos community spirit and ‘just-get-on-with-it’ attitude. I hope you weren’t affected too badly
