Watching the finals because I’m a Lynx fan and one who prefers women’s basketball over the men, I remember why it has been so hard to watch the WNBA in the past and more frequently. The referees make watching so difficult for me. I was all conference in high school so I know a little bit about the game. I received my fair share of fouls because I made all conference because of my defense. These WNBA refs need to go or go thru some intense training. wNBA refs should be making vacuum cleaners because they really suck! And new WNBA leadership/managementn needs housecleaning too.

If games are being tanked and players being boosted... WHO GAINS? Look at the bookies. If they are losing money then someone is MAKING money. This is a serious question.

I think the refs, the WNBA, and a good number of players have all tried to keep her “in check” and show her who’s boss. Nobody from the WNBA did anything to help, the opposing players certainly tried to shut her down, and the refs, man, they wouldn’t know a fair call if it was right before their eyes. Then you have all of the former players who wanted her gone. Well, they got their wish, she’s gone. The fan base is mad and nobody’s going to get more money (of significance), no more private jets, no more big crowds or tv audiences. I hope they all feel good about themselves.
When a young Wayne Gretzky entered the NHL, he started shattering records regularly. By the end of his career he was known as the “great one”. Sure he drew some criticism for not being able to play the rough game and that he wouldn’t have been able to play as well as he did if the team “enforcers” didn’t protect him. But the penalty calling was for the most part fair. Veteran players didn’t trash talk him in interviews. Across the league, players stepped up and mostly shut up. The way players play today is largely because of his talent. But here we have a womens league sport and it’s like high school all over again. I hope Miss Clark is going to be treated more fairly in the European league. All I see is an exceptionally talented player and allot of petty responses to her and the more her opponents talk the more they prove it. Put up or shut up.

As long as this goes on, the players will not make the kind of money they think "They" deserve and will continue to be subsidize. When Caitland leaves attendance will drop about 80%. I have said all year from the beginning of the season that the refs are gambling on this. They don’t make enough money. They only make 425 a game and they don’t work every day of the week. So they’re lucky to wear at work two games so they probably take their money and gamble with it and if not, they’re getting somebody to use their money for them. They have control of the game so they can make the game go either way. And that’s why all seasons there was bad calls in officiating.
I hope the owners don't sign a new agreement and just drop the whole season. After all of the crap, the players association is wanting more money because there was an increase in viewers because of Clark. As soon as she was gone, the numbers fell again.

It was the bad officiating that was allowed to pass that lead to the disasterous officiating in game 5 of the playoff finals. You reap what you sow. The officals have been directing the games played. Who moves ahead and who gets bumped.
I'm shocked. Black Women in Basketball are so sweet, kind and welcoming. They greet you with open arms, never petty or standoffish. Black Women are easy to get along with and fun to be around and never opinionated. They are never violent or rude and never talk over you and are good listeners. Black Female Basketball Players stick together. Carrington was trying to remove one of Carrington's own Eyelash from Clarks eye. Black female Basketball Players can't be racist because they are Black and Carrington even goes far enough to wear a Blond Caucasian Wig to prove that point. I'm shocked. I never saw this coming. I guess Clark was such a problem the Players themselves physically forced her out. They don't need Clark anyway. The will thrive on their own. Just ask Angel Reese who they say is Clarks best friend.
If WNBA hopes to improve its following and income, it has to overhaul its system to produce fair play for the fans. They need to change their blind referees. If three referees are watching the players play clean, and a million fans are watching a game, remember these fans also know the game. A million fans will have 2 million eyes watching fouls and flagrant fouls and thousands of recording cameras and equipment against 6 eyes of 3 referees with no cameras to cover up their corruption of the game. If they are strict in the use of steroids, they should also not allow players armed with claw hammer nails to play basketball. They should not allow lesbian sweethearts to play in two teams as it can destroy the natural outcome of a game. Remember fans bet on teams and notice corruption to protect their bet. This is not about an alibi of color or race. Remember fans watching worldwide are red, white, brown, black, and maybe pink who do not care about colors but the game WNBA is offering its audience. Lets just be fair here and this is nothing personal about CC, IF the refs were honest, CC would of fouled out in every game for her pushing off which was everytime she had the ball in her hands and she was moving. They NEVER called a foul on her once for pushing off, never. Whe CC first started she played like she was the only one that should have the ball and be allowed to shoot. She would even throw up her hands oif the ball was passed to another teammate. She was taught from early age, she was the most important player. Just like she was taught from early age how to shoot 3 pointers, and that is why she was so lousy on layups. She did not have the confidence outside her comfort area which was the 3 pt area, Then suddenly she became a team player and went outside her comfort zone and the Blacks saw her now as a White threat who was taking away their limelight. They more they became aggresive the more CC showed them she could take what ever they dished out and still control the game. I used to hate the way CC was never called out for her pushing off, but I never hated her personally, it was her mindset that I hated, but she changed and put the lost and forgotten leage back in the news, and she took them from riding a bus to flying the skies, but if you think the others apprecaited this your wrong. Other sports have adjusted how refs call plays adjusting the strike zone to try and get more on base and HR stats , looking sternly at a QB is a personal foul ETC. However the WNBA seems to allow hard fouls against Clark and not call them and call no fouls a foul to punish Clark . It will hurt the league in the long run .

CC don't need a special wissel. They all need the same wissel. CC gets a bodycheck with no ball next to her. Send the player for 5 minutes on the bench and this will stop the next playday. I think the WNBA should take the rules and refs from the NBA and the discussion will stop.

It's the fact that the refs are doing what their employers are telling them to do that's the problem. The source of the problem with reffing is the league/ owners.

I only starting watching the WNBA this year. It was immediately apparent that the officiating is horrendously bad, worse than any other league.

I think the refs, the WNBA, and a good number of players have all tried to keep her “in check” and show her who’s boss. Nobody from the WNBA did anything to help, the opposing players certainly tried to shut her down, and the refs, man, they wouldn’t know a fair call if it was right before their eyes. Then you have all of the former players who wanted her gone. Well, they got their wish, she’s gone. The fan base is mad and nobody’s going to get more money (of significance), no more private jets, no more big crowds or tv audiences. I hope they all feel good about themselves.
When a young Wayne Gretzky entered the NHL, he started shattering records regularly. By the end of his career he was known as the “great one”. Sure he drew some criticism for not being able to play the rough game and that he wouldn’t have been able to play as well as he did if the team “enforcers” didn’t protect him. But the penalty calling was for the most part fair. Veteran players didn’t trash talk him in interviews. Across the league, players stepped up and mostly shut up. The way players play today is largely because of his talent.
But here we have a womens league sport and it’s like high school all over again. I hope Miss Clark is going to be treated more fairly in the European league. All I see is an exceptionally talented player and allot of petty responses to her and the more her opponents talk the more they prove it. Put up or shut up.

I have said all year from the beginning of the season that the refs are gambling on this. They don’t make enough money. They only make 425 a game and they don’t work every day of the week. So they’re lucky to wear at work two games so they probably take their money and gamble with it and if not, they’re getting somebody to use their money for them. They have control of the game so they can make the game go either way. And that’s why all seasons there was bad calls in officiating.

It was the bad officiating that was allowed to pass that lead to the disasterous officiating in game 5 of the playoff finals. You reap what you sow. The officals have been directing the games played. Who moves ahead and who gets bumped.
I'm shocked. Black Women in Basketball are so sweet, kind and welcoming. They greet you with open arms, never petty or standoffish. Black Women are easy to get along with and fun to be around and never opinionated. They are never violent or rude and never talk over you and are good listeners. If WNBA hopes to improve its following and income, it has to overhaul its system to produce fair play for the fans. They need to change their blind referees. If three referees are watching the players play clean, and a million fans are watching a game, remember these fans also know the game. A million fans will have 2 million eyes watching fouls and flagrant fouls and thousands of recording cameras and equipment against 6 eyes of 3 referees with no cameras to cover up their corruption of the game. If they are strict in the use of steroids, they should also not allow players armed with claw hammer nails to play basketball. They should not allow lesbian sweethearts to play in two teams as it can destroy the natural outcome of a game. Remember fans bet on teams and notice corruption to protect their bet. This is not about an alibi of color or race. Remember fans watching worldwide are red, white, brown, black, and maybe pink who do not care about colors but the game WNBA is offering its audience. Unless they understand this, WNBA will be stuck in a sinkhole.

Lets just be fair here and this is nothing personal about CC, IF the refs were honest, CC would of fouled out in every game for her pushing off which was everytime she had the ball in her hands and she was moving. They NEVER called a foul on her once for pushing off, never. Whe CC first started she played like she was the only one that should have the ball and be allowed to shoot. She would even throw up her hands oif the ball was passed to another teammate. She was taught from early age, she was the most important player. Just like she was taught from early age how to shoot 3 pointers, and that is why she was so lousy on layups. She did not have the confidence outside her comfort area which was the 3 pt area, Then suddenly she became a team player and went outside her comfort zone and the Blacks saw her now as a White threat who was taking away their limelight. They more they became aggresive the more CC showed them she could take what ever they dished out and still control the game. I used to hate the way CC was never called out for her pushing off, but I never hated her personally, it was her mindset that I hated, but she changed and put the lost and forgotten leage back in the news, and she took them from riding a bus to flying the skies, but if you think the others apprecaited this your wrong. Yes, the refs were conspiring against Kaitlyn Clark. All of their calls should be taped and looked at by more professional referees.
Other sports have adjusted how refs call plays adjusting the strike zone to try and get more on base and HR stats , looking sternly at a QB is a personal foul ETC. However the WNBA seems to allow hard fouls against Clark and not call them and call no fouls a foul to punish Clark . It will hurt the league in the long run .
I think there were strange actions in both of the playoff games that contributed to helping the Sun eliminate the Fever from the playoffs.

The league is the issue. The whole league. Who is in charge of player safety. Foul called or not. Those in charge of player safety should be reviewing hard fouls with intent to injure and dealing with them. Fine and suspend the player and fine the coach and team as well. They Should get some rugby referees in to replace them ,they take no shit whatsoever from players often 2-3 times their size . They run a game with 30 players on the field and when they do use the video replays to check something they dont make mistakes .
And I'm sure most if them could learn all the rules/technicals of bball in about 48 hours.
