These are awesome, I have the bookshelf version, they rock. I have owned ProAc 100, the 6" woofers deep crazy deep, the mids are Magnepan clean. The mids though tend to buzz, don't hammer them, I came here hoping to find a fix for that. Puzzled as to why ohms have something to do with finding foams, just go by dimensions, doesn't have to be perfect. I would never "upgrade" to some other woofer. To answer a question the mids have their own sub-enclosure. JC Penny sold the huge panel version with the 24 mids.
I've got 2 of the Sawafuji square flat drivers. Never did anything with them, purchased from Parts Express maybe 15-20 years ago. As i recall they weren't rated for too many watts so I think crossovers with steep dB especially for the lower mid and bass range would be needed.
Ive got a smaller pair of the monitors. They sound incredible. Although the bass is lacking and at higher volume it flaps. I think i might replace with some vifa 6.5 inches i have.
@@afnerhernandez I didnt refoam because I couldnt find a refoam kit, although if you measure out the cone and frame you should be able to find a compatible foam from simplyspeakers.com I still have the original woofers incase I want to refoam them someday.

Same here from PE in 1992 or so. I put them in my car but found they beamed pretty bad past about 1khz. Branded Emilar IIRC.

I just picked up the same... did you ever test the sound?
I did finish refurbishing them and they replaced my main speakers, the sound really good! I'll do a follow-up vid if I find the time
