Early Morning COTSWOLDS Village WALK - Discovering the Charm of Fulbrook Village

- Fulbrook is on the edge of the Cotswolds Area of Natural Beauty. Fulbrook is a village and civil parish immediately northeast of Burford in West Oxfordshire, separated by the River Windrush.
The Domesday Book of 1086 recorded the village as Fulebroc, possibly meaning "foul brook". According to The Domesday Book, Fulbrook once had a greater population than Burford.
The Church of St. James the Great is a Norman church, showing traces of earlier Saxon work. The north aisle was added about 1200 and the porch in the late 13th century. There is a fine English Yew tree in the churchyard with a girth of over 19 feet which has been professionally estimated to be nearly 1000 years old.

I'm biased because I lived in Gloucestershire for 3 years, but Oxfordshire, where this walk takes place, is much flatter, and with fewer trees than most of the Cotswolds.
The village I lived in only had 300 residents (Sheepscombe), and the wood which bordered our property is home to red helleborine flowers, one of only 3 places in Britain where they grow.

I hear birds chirping! When I lived in Germany for a year back in the 1970’s, I was surprised to find how rarely I heard birds. I like it!

Wow. So pretty and peaceful looking. As a kid I used to watch the Avengers and John Steed and Emma Peel kept going to places like that. It must have been nice and cozy by the fire in that one house with the smoking chimney.

Each house is a work of art, and the fairytale-esque countryside evokes thoughts of medieval life, and centuries of stories.
I could imagine myself gazing at the fields in the moonlight from my quaint garden, bong in hand...just marvelling at the sheer beauty of it all.

Another masterpiece! I am sure to record these fantastic videos takes a lot of pre-planning, not just simply drIving into a village and recording the walk. From the start, there are bIrd songs, which I personally have not heard for years, Song Thrush, Mistle Thrush, Dunnock etc. Onward to the tranquillity to appreciate the beauty of the stone-built cottages, all on a frosty morning when we can appreciate the snowdrops etc. I am personally storing these excellent videos as when I can no longer get out myself to appreciate our beautiful countryside, I can at least share a replay as if on a shared walk. Thanks once more, Kevin!

Dear Kevin, I really enjoyed your walk through this beautiful village. All your sense of peace was transferred to me and I felt like I was walking in that beautiful village first thing in the morning. The sound of birds was the best soundtrack of your movie. Thank you for all this feeling. I like traveling very much. I like old neighborhoods and beautiful villages and nature. Given that I live in Iran, it may not be possible for me to travel to England, but after getting to know your channel, a virtual trip to England and its beautiful villages is possible for me. thank you

I'm in WI. This winter won't end by me this year. We just got new 4 to 6 inches of snowfall yesterday. The daffodils are well above ground and ready to burst open, alas, they've been covered again....I do appreciate seeing and hearing spring happening in the UK. It helps!
