4 years ago i made the decision of my life. That every xmas i would not decorate because it was too much pain for my body. And i stuck by it. Now i watch what other people do and i am happy
I did minimal Xmas decorating this year. Not that I ever went as overboard as the people I watch on youtube. Two of my grandkids (12 & 9) decorated the tree. Other than that, there were a few things on shelves and that was it. I'm in Queensland and Xmas is hot here.
@@loissaedder2214 I'm in New South Wales... kinda hate that the outside lights can't come on till almost 9.00pm. I was really bummed this year because after I'd put al the decorations and tinsel onto the tree the bottom lights stopped working. Just left it... just wasn't bothered about re-decorating.
Watching you decapitate Santa was a little weird…..🤣🤣 Nice job packing up Christmas! It’s so nice having new windows, they are so much more efficient! Our heating and a/c costs really dropped.
I like seeing the helping hands on other people homes but I truly enjoy you cleaning and all the things in your own home. It’s much more relaxing and motivating for me.
I love putting up anything with snowflakes, snowmen and frosty greenery stems in vases all over my house. Somethings to tide me over till Easter. I do very little Valentines and nothing for St. Pats
I hope you get your window soon. Dirty water dumps are gross, but like you said, “satisfying at the same time”. Knowing that your rug is clean. Thanks for sharing.
I think if you took out the ornaments from that little lamp in the kitchen, and add some wine corks or something else that pulls in the "wood look" or even some greenery of some sort, it would look pretty cool and tie in everything in the kitchen. Just a suggestion! Love your videos!
Storage in thr room is absolutely helpful if you have it. Unfortunately I don't, but I have an attic. The only downfall is I have to bring it up the stairs. Lol ! At 58 I need to keep the flow going. So it's a good thing. You are Amazing as always. Just a tid bit Cambriea, I would have printed the wood around the window inside and out to seal the wood before painting. I'm not telling you what to do , just my observation. God bless you and your family !🙏❤️
This year, we downsized to a smaller tree. We used to have a big family gathering at Christmas but no longer do for many reasons. I love watching you guys decorate.

Can't wait to clean my rugs! They are a light gray and just can't seem to get them clean enough. I am so excited. House looks great. And as for WI this year has been unbelievable. I have green grass, temps in the 30s and 40s. Not normal.
I definitely need a clean space to start a project! And I am going to try the 10 minute thing with the kids. I have 2 teenage girls and they might be more willing to help if there is a timer.

Lol about closing school for cold. In south Florida we have uniforms for elementary and middle school. When it is below 60. They allow the kids to wear jeans instead of uniform pants. We do get hurricane days though. So those could be his snow days.
For inside your lamp - ask the kids lol I’m curious to know their ideas. Making it a regular thing of them seeing their ideas in the lamp would be fun. If that’s a no than maybe potpourri, a photo, a sentimental piece…I love that lamp it’s a blank slate for anything! 🥰✝️🙋🏻♀️
It could be fun to decorate for all kinds of holidays! Some kind of hearts, etc for Valentine's, Mardi Gras beads just after for a couple of weeks, shamrocks for St Patrick's, eggs or bunnies, etc for Easter, heads off of artificial flowers or flower garland curled up for spring, and so on! How pretty would summer be between red, white and blue stuff for the 4th and beachy stuff! Pretty leaves for fall... it could be fun! And maybe special decorations for a couple of days around everybody's birthday complete with a number candle in the middle for their age. It's probably just a one year thing, though - after that you'd be pretty tired of it!
Hope you get your front window installed sooner rather than later. Also, can you share a bit of your IKEA planning process (IKEA meeting, choosing cabinets, etc) for your dining room shelving? I'm super interested.
Suggestion for the cardboard boxes you store your Christmas decor in. I have a big roll of plastic wrap (like giant Saran Wrap) that I wrap around cardboard storage boxes (like for the tree). Just keeps them protected from dust and moisture. I bought it awhile ago from Container store I think.
I can so relate to your story about your son saying it was "freeeezing". 😂 I live in WY and believe me, 45 degrees is shorts and t shirt weather here. Your home is so pretty Cambriea and I'm loving your helping hand series.
I love watching your videos I have a bunch of medical problems Lupus and RA are the worst lots of pain. I can only wish to accomplish at least half of what u do in a day. The one bit of advice I follow the most is work in one space/section at a time. Seeing progress really motivates u to keep going. Can't wait for the next video.
I Definetly have to clean before I start a project but it doesn’t always happen that way. We are in the middle of remolding our kitchen right now as well and it’s been hard not getting overwhelmed! You are so right, drills and paint everywhere!!! Drive me nuts!

My dog actually puts his blankies out in front of his bed when he's decided he wants them washed - like a hotel guest sending things out to be laundered! 😂😂 I wash his bedding once a week for him, but if he decides he's ready after 5 days and puts it out there, I wash it for him! He loves fresh blankets and he's so appreciative, that I don't mind just grabbing them and tossing them in the washer for him!

He has a huge stack of good-sized blankets (they're actually throws for people) but I try not to have too many out at a time for him as he likes to build roadblocks with them by his bed during the day - I call them "mom traps" - to make me stop and give belly rubs, etc. He's a character!
I love undecorating from the Christmas holidays. The house feels so open and fresh. I definitely need to try the laundry detergent and bleach hack for my carpet. My carpet is 10 years old and can probably use replacement by now. It’s a very light beige. Maybe even off white. I think this hack will bring it back to last maybe a couple more years…. Hi Cambria, suggest you check regarding the exterior wood framing in the bay window you painted. Here in Florida exterior exposed wood around windows needs to be covered by waterproof material & not just paint...check with the contactor or permitting...just an FYI😊
I’m a Chicagoan and I was just visiting family in Northern Virginia. It was high 40’s - they were wearing sweaters and coats while I was in capris and a tank top 😂.

Oh my gosh! the rug! It looks so nice after cleaning it! I had to laugh at the after because even the hairy beast who helps make it dirty enjoys the clean carpet. I have a golden retriever and they are just hairy lovable monsters! 😄

Good morning , the windows look so nice. I cannot wait to see the cabinets in the dining room. That was a lot of Christmas decorations to put away. Like you this year I put the Christmas decorations in the room I used them in. In the living room I have a full built in wall of shelves and cabinets. My upper cabinets go up to the ceiling. Nothing was being stored in them Da..a..a. So the light went off in my head and I realized that I can use them for decorations. I am just now finally getting my house reset from the holidays. FL feels a lot colder than up north! It's the high moisture content in the air, when the Temps drop, it absolutely chills to the bone and feels colder!

Idk about Florida, but in Phoenix, the intense heat damages a lot of things stored in attics and garages (dries up wiring, melts candles, warps some plastics, etc), so I try to store as much as I can inside.

I wish I had a small fraction of your energy. At 71 and recovering from bladder cancer surgery, I find it difficult to get anything done.

I full on decorate from winter ..I love it. It is too soon for valentines so I decorate winter tree with snow flakes and pine cones and sweater vases

With my carpet cleaner, on the last pass I put a tiny bit of liquid fabric softener in the plain water. Smells good and softer!

We don’t have big rugs downstairs cause of our 80lb big dog…they bring in so much dirt!! But we love them so much to handle it!

I wash dog towels and bedding as much as I do our clothing! He won’t lay down on them if more than 4 days out!!🤦🏻♀️🤣
