- Dijonay May Jones is Penny Proud's sassy, enthusiastic best friend who knows her best. Dijonay is loyal at heart and is often the first to come to Penny's aid and encourages her other friends to do the same. However, her impulses often overtake her better judgement and will cause her to ditch her friends for instant gratification or to escape trouble. She also cannot resist gossip and has gotten Penny and her friends into trouble many times. Eventually, Penny decided she had to stop trusting Dijonay, though the girls still remain friends. Despite this however, Dijonay has shown extreme loyalty to Penny and has had her back plenty of times. In return, Penny continues to show Dijonay unconditional love and one of Dijonay's biggest fears is losing her in any way, shape or form. Dijonay comes from a large family and is the oldest of ten children.

So interesting to watch this show back all grown up and seeing how terrible of a Friend Dijonay was. Honestly the only good friend Penny had was Zoey even though she was a follower at times. Michael and Sticky were better friends to Penny than Dijonay. Lacienega was awful but at least with her you knew what you were getting.
Ever notice that it was the girls who were problematic? I guess girls will be girls.
@@paolotorres8537 I do feel the guys were questionable as well since Sticky was one of the people who made fun of Michael being flamboyant and would be a follower as well and Michael would make some questionable comments as well like making fun of Lacienega’s feet and making fun of Dijonay for being poor. Michael I feel could also be a follower as well like Zoey and Sticky were. I think Zoey and Michael are probably the only two people from the group that I could see Penny maintaining a friendship with as an adult.

In louder and prouder ever since sticky moved to Japan,Michael is the only real friend that penny has left to trust.
I almost forgot about Maya Justice Burnside, Maya may not always like Penny but she was thankful that Penny defended her and KG from Nubia when they were being bullied for them being adopted by two dads. And also,Dijonay felt no empathy for KG and Maya being bullied because it was her fault for posting it to everyone and lying that her phone must’ve been hacked.

Even from a younger age, I knew Dijonay was no good. She’s got her positive moments, but overall? Not someone to have in your circle of friends. With Maya and Lacienega, they made it clear they don’t like Penny. But at the very least, if it were me, I’d take an honest person than a fake one. Sticky and Michael had her back. Zoey……I’m a little unsure with her. Gross Sisters…hell, even they had Penny’s back, and they HATED her.
Nubia had said she liked Penny.
Zoey I think genuinely liked Penny she was just too shy to stand for herself. But I feel bad for her because she's actually a relatable character with self esteem issues but the audience loves to hate her.
Maya and Lacienga were jealous of Penny and they would pretend to be nice in front of everyone else. Diojnay owns up to her mistakes. Btw why does everyone praise them for hating Penny for no reason?
As a kid when I first watched the show, I found Dijonay the most entertaining/funny out of Penny's friends. Even watching these clips now, some of them are still hilarious. Penny's friends aren't perfect, but I appreciate their flaws. If all her friends were perfect the show would not be as interesting. So Dijonay is still one of my favourite Disney Channel animated characters. Her voice actress is very talented as well, love her voice in this series and the reboot.

Thank you! Finally someone who doesn't bash Zoey in all honesty I thought she always liked Penny she would just unfortunately give in to peer pressure and was very timid-which is pretty relatable but I'm willing to bet that she actually regrets following Dijonay and would probably end up supporting Penny in the end.

When he ignored them, he got expelled. Years later, she got a restraining order on him. Therefore, why isn't the same situation taken seriously like that when Dijonay harasses Sticky?
