They really screwed up wood chippers with the last update. Before you could just jam the entire tree into the chipper and it would take it. Now they all struggle with just oak limbs! Never mind the trunks of these big hardwoods.
Yeah it’s seriously a waste of money now I went to use it and ended up cutting my tree into about 10 slices and it STILL would not eat the slices of wood and when it does work it registers half the tree as useless and doesn’t even spit out chips. Big waste of Time.
Yea iv noticed this the wood chipper grinder bit did lift up and down now it stays fixed so it might be a glitch 🤔 that's y it won't take in bigger logs now it's a pain
Hack to this is simple Place several long pole pines in front of all wheel centres on the chipper side Chop them all waist height level as possible and lift truck up so chipper side is pointing up This means the weight of the tree is fully in the belt feeding it And the don't use a trailer they show no capacity in the shop but have endless capacity Fit in what it will let you move with and remember the weight stays true so around 15 long pole pines at full growth is the limit or you will be crawling to the sell point
Much easier for you, if you using lumberjack, just push whole tree to the woodchipper, smaller woodchipper is also good, and use as combo with the trailer behind tractor, les hustle, and for more happiness Oma Tana trailer mod with 200 cubic meters (dark blue one), and you covered, lot of money and lot of the fun, regards
The chipper trailer and truck have endless capacity for wood chips Now no capacity is shown in the shop but Just make sure no trailer is in range Feed it 12 or 15 fully grown long pole pines into it respective to it being the trailer or the truck and drive to sell point For over drive feed the trailer one twice as much and use lumber jack mod to lift the chipper into a trailer with more wheels to handles the gigantic weight lots better
I've been asking why everyone wasn't chipping most if not all trees since FS22. The elms used to be the best stock tree to chip then. Not sure about now. Service berry are still absolutely useless.
Wood chips are def. OP. I bet tweaks are coming soon, for the price and amount of chips. If you just want money and don't care how, there are much easier ways. Just play the game and have fun
Big woodchipper is terrible, you have to fold it every time you want to relocate and its to high of the ground, it just wont swallow full length trees. I bought it, used for a hour and sold it. You have to readjust the tree for it to chip it, annoying and takes to long time, plus you need extra time to make tree piles, fell them pull with winch and ye, to long. I tried each and every equipment, by far the best combo is small chipper with PM Trac III and without the back winch shield part so you can drive easy over stumps, if you have shield you will be getting stuck on stumps and felled trees. You fell down bunch of trees pick them just little bit of the ground and drive it into the small chipper. The small wood chipper is way smoother, i think its because of the angle, its close to ground and it swallows trees from start to finish most of the time.
Don't know if you ever noticed that... But in reality you would never chip a whole tree in one go... I guess you drove all around the forest and wondered why the truck tips, wen you pick up a whole tree... It's not meant to use it like that... It's a great machine for it's intended purpose! But if you don't care how those machines are supposed to be used, why would you expect them to work fine...??? 🤦

Not sure what ever possessed you to do this test, but I am grateful that you did. The funny thing is that between this and poplars it looks like woodchips are the most important crop in the game. I can't help but wonder if Giants will see the need to make an adjustment sometime in the future. Thanks again.
Does this even work? I just tried this on Hard difficulty on both Frontier and Riverbend with 9m logs and wood chips, same size and all. I get bit over 6k for logs, and only 3.2k for wood chips

They added collisions while holding limbs. Before there was none.

Did you try a deadwood? When I tried a while back I was getting less than 1k per tree but I was using the towed chipper.
Deadwood doesn’t chip well. There is nothing there. Same with selling it. You need to put it through a sawmill.
@Blackanvil66 deadwood produces roughly 750 liters of woodchips.
Deadwood goes into the sawmills for the most money!
I got the auto load log trailer on the mod hub and have been making bank on wood transport jobs
