I fell in love with Stockard Channing when I saw her in "The Girl Most Likely To..." (1973).
I had never seen her before & I thought she was a fabulous actress.
I was lucky enough to see her on Broadway in, "It's Only A Play", & again, she was fabulous.

I can’t help laughing every time they cut to John Spencer wearing a West Wing cap while he chats about the First Lady. He talks a lot of sense but him in that hat? Hilarious.

I can't believe that after nearly five years this video has garnered only ten (well, eleven, now) comments. I've been a Stockard Channing fan ever since she starred in the T.V. movie The Girl Most Likely To. So good in The West Wing.

      I believe so.
I found them at the local library. Of course, this was some years ago.

Same here. Ms. Channing was phenomenal in that movie.
I got to see her on Broadway in "It's Only A Play".
She is like fine wine, she gets better with every role she plays.

@@DrVVVinK It was originally a TV movie written by Joan Rivers & Agnes Gallin. It was released in Nov 1973 on ABC.

I love The West Wing and Soprano's. What links these two shows was the writing, acting, and casting. Fervent attention to even minor, one-scene or one episode characters is at the highest level on both shows. I don't think I can praise people like Thomas Schlamme, Aaron Sorkin, David Chase, and the production people they enlist enough. The same goes for the people behind Nurse Jackie and Breaking Bad.

Stockard Channing was a relatable first lady. Smart, opinionated and in the end caring of her partner. Marrage can be complicated.

It is a great sadness that the pressure of Hollywood is such that American actresses know if they 'age naturally', they will be unemployed until they are in their 80s. Maybe you should lobby US film and tv producers to follow the British model which allows great actresses like Judi Dench, Helen Mirren, Eileen Atkins and countless others to age gracefully whilst still retaining careers and gaining global acclaim.

Love the video, hate what Ms. Channing did to her face. She laughs really hard at 9:07 and her face barely moves.

I have all the episodes on DVD and watched them at least 5 times. TWW is my all time favorit show, unfortunately Stochard Channing is the worst actor of the series, in my opinion. Her facial expressions never match the mood of the scene. I found her so annoying that I sometimes fast fowarded her just to get rid of that scene.
