My brother in law has one of these. If your thinking of buying it don't hesitate. What a great bike it's been over the years. Sounds great, rides great, runs great. Really nice machines.
I've owned a 750 and 1100 Shadow ACE's, rode them for years without doing anything but changing tires and oil. Just bullet proof and gets lots of looks due to the fit and finish. For the money, can't beat them as a cruiser. Lastly the color scheme on this one is wild!
Did you find the power on the 1100 to be that big a difference from the 750? I’ve heard some say the difference is minimal and some say they wish they would have went with the 1100 over 750
@@lucksury It was more linear in the 1100, the 750 had to be brought to the upper RPMs. I also noticed it was much easier to pass on the highway or merge with traffic on the 1100.
Have the same exact bike. Had it since brand new, everything he says is true. Super reliable and sounds great. 30k on mine, very little maintenance. Chrome still looks good as day one. The beach bars came stock.
I had one of these, same year . This one is more decked out than mine was . I love the color scheme on this one . Great bike thanks for showing it to us.
That’s a beautiful machine! Whoever bought it got an excellent specimen. To piggyback on your fuel tank comments on the end, I got myself a 2007 750 a few years ago and that was a huge selling point, it looked (and still looks) just like that inside. Take care, thanks for sharing!
Beautiful, low mileage, great sounding cruiser. More reliable, mechanically than a Harley, at a much better price point. The Vance & Hines Longshot exhaust system sounds great. Sounds just like a Harley. Terry Vance and Byron Hines, his mechanic, were the Dynamic Duo Race Team in the 70's and 80's. Terry was fearless, and one hell of a rider!
Oh my God I love the old school look! Sounds amazing Honda classic 1999 addition Ace green and black. I love the front end of the back fender. What are those Vance& Hines straight pipes Ken do they have baffles or no baffles? It would literally spend me hours cleaning them rims. Wow! That's really nice liquid! Cool. That means it won't run hot. What an amazing machine! Just to put out there. I wonder what freedom performance exhaust would sound like on it, knowing how it has a deep growl it's crazy how the Honda looks like a Harley. Great video Ken! Awesome video Ronnie! God bless you guys. New England motorcycle museum Rockville, Connecticut
@kaplanAmerica i'm not a Japanese cruiser guy, but i have to say, this beauty may have just changed my mind 🤔 It's like one of those "wanna-be Harley's" that *actually* succeeded 👍
Were these the hondas that caused harley to sue honda over "too similar" engine note or something? This is anout 20 yrs before i started riding but i think i remember hearing about it as a kid.
My first motorcycle, Dad wouldn't let me get a crotch rocket. A year later I had a gsxr 600 parked next to it and had no problem getting all my money back on the Honda, it was a good bike and probably kept me from killing myself.
I know I'm [still] only guessing, but I would like to amend my estimate that bike could only be obtained for no less than $25,000+ The condition of this bike, the pipes, the accessories, mileage and more I change my estimate to $20,000 Personally, I'm very fond of the Honda Valkyrie. I like the headlight/driving lights with visors on this bike. I would like to see the clear windshield added to this one. The pipes on the 750 and 1100 would be a non issue for a Valkyrie. I just did more research on prices is all. All three bikes are the type of motorcycle I'd be very satisfied to own.
i've always been h-d only but there are some nice jap bikes and with those pipes and looks. you guys are really rockin it in rockville. i used to go down there as a kid to my cousins and i remember there was a baseball factory and of course gene pitney. is it really a "town without pity"?

My god the sound from this bike mind blowing tuned to perfection.
Whoever filmed this got those fly-by shots absolutely perfect in the beginning of the video.
Ronnie and/or Ken Jr. are very talented behind the camera. They have many years of experience doing it.

I didn’t think Sr. was ever going to stop riding it. Too much fun! “Hey Pops, we’ve got a video to shoot! And there he goes again”.
That sounds so good! Thats a great bike!

I believe that bike is an Aero 1100 that someone put Ace tank badges on. Beautiful bike regardless, it's gonna make someone very happy
I had a 1986 honda shadow 1100 black& silver excellent bike!
At first I thought I was watching a '70s movie about a guy riding his motorcycle across the country. 😀

My first bike ... was a great reliable motorcycle, just little low on power
Is the rear disc brake an upgrade on this? I thought shadows came with drum in the rear
