to answer sara’s question about what can you not do in regular minecraft- at least for servers, lots of them have their own regulations. I was banned from my favorite child hood server last year because i had changed my gamer tag to coochieconquerer. I got perma banned just for entering the server with that gamer tag. i am still devastated to this day.
Miner here. I love to make a new survival game, build a a shoddy shack to give me time to collect food, then take that food to the caves and never surface again. I just love going through the caves to collect ores and resources, finding abandoned mineshafts and looting the chests, setting down a few big chests and just filling them to the brim with resources over a few hours, and then stop playing. When I play again, I make a new survival game again and do the same thing XD

And I got a called to the office at school, I didn't know an adult was worried about my mental health, so the first time I ever went to therapy I was dressed as Bangerz Miley lmao. Actually I think Minecraft is one of those games that doesn't require crazy amounts of memory or ram to play. :o it would be something Sarah might enjoy a lot because you can literally build just about anything.

Ended up meeting my first boyfriend in Minecraft and ended up turning into a serious long distance relationship that lasted 3 years and was SHIOOK the amount for couples that grew out of the server I was on consistently. And the fact that people can literally get admin jobs and grow literal real life money from donations it’s just wild what a full blown world it can become. I remember writing an essay about the educational benefits as well, as it can lead kids into learning coding and engineering stuff when it comes to running a server and doing complicated redstone builds. The whole phenomenon of Minecraft is just truly crazy and so nostalgic.
I completely fell out of touch with Tobuscus and looking him up now is WILD! Was a huge consumer of his content 10 years ago and what a pivot he did. Actually breaks my heart.
Yogscast are the channel I’ve been subscribed to for the longest. Their original minecraft LP and SOI series is a comfort watch for me, I’ve seen it so many times. They were trailblazers of the time and really do deserve the praise for pioneering minecraft’s popularity.
I absolutely love RTgames, he invites like 100 people at a time to a server to build something, or like dig one giant hole to bedrock and it's always hilarious

Yeah, and just to add to this: they really take 30-50 dollars to simply send you a piece of paper with "Lord Y/N" on it... no actual land ownership is ever registered (which is what they used to advertise) AND they overcharge people a hell of a lot to plant 1 singular tree (through a 3rd party)
Something that NEEDS to have an honourable mention is the person who created and entire working GAMEBOY with Pokemon installed on it by creating circuitry from redstone blocks or whatever... because my mind can't even *comprehend* how you build a computer inside a computer like that. it's INSANE. Possibly the most ambitious feat ever accomplished in the game

Minecraft is such a complex game. There are several different multiplayer games you can play like bedwards, uhc, MCC, etc. but there’s also a whole variety of players. There’s those who love the decorating aspect, those who love crazy builds, those who love resource gathering, those who love to fight mobs, the explorers, etc. there’s also the resource packs and even modded Minecraft. It’s such a simple game that can be changed into literally anything. I play vanilla Minecraft with my friends and I love the rawness of a game. I love the early stages where you have a dirt house and stone tools and just trying to find enough wool for a bed. In my eyes, Minecraft will never go away. It has its tried and true fans and the community is bigger than you think. Love itt sm

Y’all asked for recommendations so here you go: PaulGG is a great channel for survival mode content, he has multiple series about surviving 100 days in specific biomes/circumstances (ocean-only world, lava-only world, etc.). A bit of cringe content sometimes with his 2017-esque phrases and vocab but all around a fun watch. Sandiction is a phenomenal and impressive builder with a quick and funny editing style. He absolutely reeled me in with just one video! The time he takes on each of his videos is amazing, not only the editing required but the content itself. Crazy projects and ambitious deadlines makes his channel one that I look forward to every upload. Those are the only two I’ve found that I can watch hours of. Great episode btw, Minecraft has a chokehold on my happiness, truly.
I would come home from middle school everyday, log onto a server and just roleplay with 10+ random people I met. They would come into my "housing" which I would advertise as "Magic High" or something similar and we would just pretend we were high school wizards and witches. That shaped my childhood. I cringe thinking back on it but that was also one of the happiest times for me.

My science teacher in elementary school is the one who introduced Minecraft to me. It was when it first came out and he had gathered all of us kids to watch him play it on the projector. I believe some schools were going to use the game for education purposes but it never happened. I remember having the cracked version on my school computer and the only way I could play with someone else is if they were using the same internet as me😂
My mom had a crazy minecraft phase a year or two ago. She would run around and make villages more pretty. Then she found a coral reef and encased it in glass, then built a hall for viewing around it lmao. Then, in an infinite world, she decided to map out as much of the world as she could and built a huge wall to show off her mega map. 12 year old me was so pissed she loved it so much because she always refused to play with us kids.

hi guys!! idk about anyone else but i would be interested in hearing you guys talk about the history of broadcasted breakdowns. i think a lot of the times creators use their platforms as therapy when they really just need therapy. (this excludes creators who work to normalize mental health of course) i’m talking early Trisha Paytas, recent gabbi hanna etc etc. social media can be a wonderful place to spread awareness for certain things, especially to help someone learn they’re not alone in their struggles but it is another thing to broadcast a breakdown. i think it would be cool to hear your take on this and kind of where that line needs to be drawn between helpful and hurtful

I've been a Minecraft fan for half of my life at this point and to see two sides of my favorites parts of the internet combine was so cool. it was also sick to see an outsider's perspective on the game. Ethoslab (pronounced Etho's Lab) is my favorite TH-camr of all time(no offense). he's super unproblematic and just does his own thing. his videos are very comforting and his whole community has basically grown up with him. 10/10 recommend his videos.

My science teacher in elementary school is the one who introduced Minecraft to me. It was when it first came out and he had gathered all of us kids to watch him play it on the projector. I believe some schools were going to use the game for education purposes but it never happened. I remember having the cracked version on my school computer and the only way I could play with someone else is if they were using the same internet as me😂
My mom had a crazy minecraft phase a year or two ago. She would run around and make villages more pretty. Then she found a coral reef and encased it in glass, then built a hall for viewing around it lmao. Then, in an infinite world, she decided to map out as much of the world as she could and built a huge wall to show off her mega map. 12 year old me was so pissed she loved it so much because she always refused to play with us kids.
The uncensored library is truly magnificent! Free, and uncensored. Everyone deserves to see and hear everything! Every silenced and murdered journalist deserves to have their work seen!

hi guys!! idk about anyone else but i would be interested in hearing you guys talk about the history of broadcasted breakdowns. i think a lot of the times creators use their platforms as therapy when they really just need therapy. (this excludes creators who work to normalize mental health of course) i’m talking early Trisha Paytas, recent gabbi hanna etc etc. social media can be a wonderful place to spread awareness for certain things, especially to help someone learn they’re not alone in their struggles but it is another thing to broadcast a breakdown. i think it would be cool to hear your take on this and kind of where that line needs to be drawn between helpful and hurtful

I've been a Minecraft fan for half of my life at this point and to see two sides of my favorites parts of the internet combine was so cool. it was also sick to see an outsider's perspective on the game. Ethoslab (pronounced Etho's Lab) is my favorite TH-camr of all time(no offense). he's super unproblematic and just does his own thing. his videos are very comforting and his whole community has basically grown up with him. 10/10 recommend his videos.

huge bump on minecraft long plays where creators just play through a build, with no commentary or cuts. its a great substitute for parallel play or body doubling when you have study and chores to do!

minecraft is my fav game ever i started playing when i was 13 and i still play every week with my brother who recently moved away for school so it's so nice to be able to just hang out together on there. :')
Snifferish is a really relaxing minecrafter. they used to work for the minecraft marketplace as a professional builder and they do creative build streams on Twitch. i love listening to them while i do chores and things of that nature so maybe you’ll enjoy them too! loved the episode!
