Scary thing is - this is exactly what happens outside of the movie world, men and woman who are best friends, and yes who have developed feelings for one another or one party feels something for the other, but don't believe they want to ruin a friendship so try separate ways, a lot of the time are forced to choose between the friend or the new potential partner - for some it is easy but for many others ( this an example ) it is not. Don't get me wrong I am not saying Paula is the bad guy here at all, I mean I get her side, but Harvey wore his heart on his sleeve and this was a gamble. And to quote ' Two people who care about each other never move on at all ' - it might be a while until we see these 2 move on ... yes cliche I know - but I hope it is with each other DARVEY for ever !!!
I am sorry,but Paula is the bad guy here.She thinks it's ok to make a woman out of her job because she is insecure.She doesn't need to trust Donna at all,she needed to trust Harvey.
I think Paula is the bad character. She knew that Harvey and Donna had feelings for each other and she premeditated and waited for the right moment to ask Harvey to fire Donna. Paula was not very smart and misinterpreted the moment of the dinner with his mother. That "big thing" who had dinner with his mother made her think that she is the chosen one. This explains why in the breakup scene she is so surprised that Harvey chooses Donna
if she had such a trauma why did she start dating the man who had panic attacks because his secretary left him. she knew perfectly well how strong their connection was.
But she also knew that Harvey was denying his feelings for Donna and she hoped that she could cure him of these feelings. She was a narcissist and they are capable of anything to get what they want and it doesn't matter what other people want, it only matters what they want.
0:16 I cant belive some people see Paula as the bad guy after this. If Harvey could promiss no flurting (wich is basic for a relationship) he would have been in a one with someone who has her way of making him the best version of himself. I think among all 3 of them Paula is the least wrong person.
I think he knows he cannot promise that and hope to keep the promise so he prefers chosing to go with that decision because for him, to lose Donna is something worse than he could afford to live with compared to the other option. I could be wrong 🤷

(emphasis on full , both mind and act) He makes it look like he is so serious and commited to this relationship and then bails in a second. Make no mistake I don't think he needed to fire Donna, but he could have change her mind in a second like we just learned. And it is not like him to give up after one day. Just like it is not like Donna to act like she have been acting the hole season. I was just very dispointed with the characters this season. And I hate hypocrisy so this was very upsetting for me.

She moves on, works the ladder in her job and does not go readyily after Harvey when he breaksup with paula. Instead she meets another man. And starts a commited relationship until harvey goes after her. Paula knew from the very beginning, what Donna meant to Harvey. But it is another thing to not Realise and accept it. she „Makes“ Him unemploy donna because she is very insecure in their realtionship. If you feel, that another woman gives your husband or boyfriend sth that you cannot give him- and he wants to have this woman in his Life, the answer is actually clear .

She’s like the clingy Sally that stays around no matter what for years on end in hopes there will be the ‘right’ moment for her to strike. She was always in the way in his other relationships and made sure she will be the one he choses over anyone else, threatening to ‘leave’ the firm, because ‘she doesn’t sleep with men she works with’, but why does it matter if you’re not in a relationship anyways? Hated her character. Wished for better ending.
I like that donna can't lie. Every word she says is calculated and she won't just say anything to get herself out of a situation
