Some people are very angry in their comments. Thank you for this interview Allie. It helps me to navigate some tough things I have been wrestling with personally.
Please Allie Beth, please tell our violent world that "Eternal Life Matters" - the serious fact is so many people still choosing the eternal torment and damnation of Hell. There is tremendous decrease of love/ compassion in our society because of the increase of sin, selfishness and wickedness introduced/ promoted via the internet. (Matthew 24:12). Allie Beth, you are among a few people raised under divine providence to enlighten our dark, decaying world by showing truths and exposing lies - freeing people's life from the ultimate ignorance and blindness. Given the title of the video, I am disappointed by how little the Bible and Christian faith were referenced as a justification for conservative policy positions. Dr. Grudem talked about how much he appreciated the appointment of judges who make decisions according to the Constitution, rather than their own political persuasions. Then he proceeds to talk about his own political attitudes and preferences with minimal to no substantiation from Christianity (e.g., where's the Scriptural support for a large military?). I'm a conservative too but watched this video in hope of refining my understanding.
That's because there is little to no Christian justification for voting for Trump. He's pretty damn unchristian just like Obama, Biden, Bush and every president we've had for the past century. Actually every potus since 1789 as well as the leaders of the articles of the confederation.
This man has a lot of clarity of thought. I've had his The Poverty of Nations for years now but haven't finished it, I'll have to remedy that! AND volunteer to help Donald Trump's campaign!
The second i heard trump say you dont need a politician you need a buissness man i knew he was going to stop countries from taking advantage and he did
This was very good. His point about praying and taking whatever responsible actions are necessary to bring about the answer you are praying for is very powerful. When we pray to God to provide our daily bread we just don’t wait around in the room expecting it to appear magically on our door step, we go and work and God often will provide through that. I know a few Christians who have taken the pray and wait for the answer to magically land on their doorstep approach when it comes to politics.
Thank you for your courage Dr. Grudem. You've been one of my favorite theologians since I was introduced to you back in Bible College in 2009-2010. I have been praying for you for the past few years and will continue to.
I'm telling my children and grandkids to vote for a man with a moral and ethical character; integrity and honesty; if he's guilty of sexual assault, cheats on his taxes, over represents his net worth, and agitates the violence in a crowd of zealots that break, enter, and destroy, he is not worthy of my vote. Imagine having to provide an excuse to your grandkids, if you did, "Well, I overlooked those traits, to engage in politics."
An Old Man Sits in Front of Books (a poem) An old man sits in front of books, The young girl occupies her looks, And blink at different rates. The old man blinketh not too much, But girls must blink, and nod and such, Lest dignity deflates. Fragilities, an old man's props, Facilities holds still and stops, Endandering not what age creates. A tenderness is oft observed, Though nothing wise is to be served, When girls sit in with Pops.
If we can't have a righteous candidate, then we have to choose the candidate who most closely aligns their policies with the Bible. It's that simple. No one who has true faith, can support democrat policies. Yes, I said that. Yes, it's true.

Does this guy ever actually mention the Bible? 15 minutes in and it hasn’t really been focused on. Being the devil’s advocate here because I typically lean right and agree with having a smaller government and following the Constitution, but I’m struggling to understand how the typical Republican ideals of larger military and a smaller government are BIBLICAL ideals and not just what he believes is best. I understand the abortion, transgender, and gay marriage issues, but these things are going to gain traction in our culture regardless of who is President. It’s more of a cultural movement at this point than something that a President can control. You could argue that the Democratic Party is pro-environment (God asks us to be stewards of our environment) and supportive of helping the poor (also a very Biblical ideal). I don’t like that this is titled “A Christian Case for Trump”, yet the guy barely mentions God.
Just remember David of the Old Testament he was used by God, but look at his massive character flaws, he was an adulter and a murder. We all have character flaws it doesnt mean we can't achieve important things to help and benefit others.
@Desire Of All Nations where has trump promoted lawless lifestyles, l think your getting mixed up with the Democrats burning and looting cities and riots Trump has done none of that. We all have character flaws. How many converted christains have had multiple marriages as Trump. I know at least 2 men and women in my church as are they condemned in your eyes as immoral as Trump is. If going to start pointing fingersxa people because of character flaws when we had better start with the pointed finger directly at ourselves first and stop being so self righteous.
@Desire Of All Nations he is appointing conservative judges, who are against aboration. Unlike the Democrats who are advocates for full term abortions and the selling of the babies body.
All those people named in Hebrews 11 all had character flaws....Abraham, Moses. We all have them. None absolutely none of us are free of character flaws and sin ACCEPT THE MOST HOLY AND SINLESS, and none of us are that.
Dr. Grudem's letter to a friend is a MUST READ before voting this fall. It is a logical and biblical argument for voting for God's principles, even if the candidate is extremely flawed.
This interview is hilarious Wayne feels afraid for his safety. While black people are being killed in their own homes. I definitely do not agree with the riots. But what actually started the riot can we talk about that? You guys are absolutely funny.
What started the riots were people acting out of ignorance and hate, stupidly assuming every police killing is racist! Were all the "black" people murdered? Were they mostly criminals who were disobeying police or attacking the police? the answer to these questions if researched would leave no room for rioting or in most cases even protesting. Get the complete information as much as you can before acting stupidly! The couple who were afraid of being attacked and got their guns to protect themselves have bee charged with some alleged crime for brandishing their weapons on their property! How scandalous in a time when crowds are rioting and destroying property and attacking people, setting fires etc? So it sounds like you are the funny one?
Black people being killed in their own homes is a very rare occurance, and most of the time when such a tragedy takes place it is aonther Black who did the killing, not the police.
Someone sent me, "A Christian Case Against Trump," which is about 6 minutes long for the guy to say, "Non-Christians might think we're mean by supporting a mean guy, so we shouldn't do it. Also, watch my other videos, and my upcoming video series." *Nothing* of value was presented. So I looked up this and sent it as a reply to them. Thanks~!
We all need to understand that is not just President Trump wich by the way is doing a great job, is our country, our generations that is in jeopardy with the Democrats. Ephesians 6-12 Reina-Valera 1960 12 For we do not fight against blood and flesh, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly regions. God bless you all.
I was really disappointed about how he didn’t talk about abortion in this. There are so many verses we can point to about the value and sanctity of life. I also would have liked to hear more references backing up his points. He stated that many things were biblical, but rarely gave Scripture verses as proof. This really did not answer any questions I had and wasn’t very helpful. I feel like this totally missed the mark and could have gone into the Gospel. Humans have a desire to be rescued. Trump is not our savior, though he can do good things on earth, he will never be what we truly need...only Jesus can fulfill us. Life on this earth will never be without pain and struggle. The only true hero will be Christ. A Christian leader shouldn’t be so lost in politics that he neglected an opportunity to point Christians back to Christ and Christ ultimately making all the wrongs right again one day.
I appreciate this! However if trump is the question lets allow Grudem the time and place context. Keeping to the point is useful at times. I do appreciate most of what you say.
"GOD is the ultimate independent. "- Tony Evans. The speakers talking points align more with a political party than Gods word. God doesn't need our army he can raise one up himself. Proof in point Gay marriage is still legal as well as abortion even with these appointed conservative judges.
Barry my point was that God doesn't align with any political party and while abortion is a horrible thing through years of Republican and Democratic administrations abortion is still legal. As Christians we need to be fighting for the truth of the gospel. The Whole gospel. As Christians we need to be evangelizing the truth of Jesus Christ to these very people who don't believe in the true and only living God.
It's funny when at 22:35 he says he doesn't want the united states to turn into a place like Sao Paulo. But that's exactly what's in store for America's future on this current trajectory unless he supports immigration restriction.
Incidentally, you might have noticed that not one of of the professors of theology who were Dr Grudem's former colleagues have come out to support his politics or enthusiasm for Trump. He is a maverick, whose views I hope and pray he will repent from.

First off a appreciate that Allie was gracious enough to leave the comment section opened. For that let me encourage everyone here to be equally gracious by not throwing a tantrum of any kind on here. I've recently started listening to Brother Wayne Grudem's book that he's addressed in this podcast. But I won't go over that however due to the lack of context from not having read through it yet. I will go over what he said in the podcast and offer my critique. One of Grudem's praise for Trump is his foreign policy which I find very disturbing. He then goes on to sources of criticism which is from of a strawman argument. It really lacks the ethical engagement that a professor of ethics is supposed to engage in. It almost sounds condescending because he alienates those like myself that gets their sources from alternative media. It's even too partisan and I decry that approach. I do agree however with his critique of socialism. Socialism can lead to monopolies in power over resources that can drain the average individual due to the inability to measure prices on goods. As a libertarian I'm also against the government's desire to force businesses to conduct business with whomever and however they deem fit to do business with. Where it also gets condescending again is with the issue of the protests and civil unrest. The evidence of police brutally in this country is alarmingly high as compared to other nations. Much of the protests have more to do with the nature of police brutally and Grudem seems ignorant on this matter. The protests are not all about social justice in the Marxist sense. Conservative media paints the picture of our police consisting of a few bad apples. It's rather very alarming what's been going on and they're not all race riots as the conservative media makes it to be. That's not to say that it justifies the looting but many Christians live in a bubble in regards to our domestic as well as our foreign policy. The brutally is actually consistent with our sanctions in foreign nations that starve citizens of these nations that we're pillaging from crucial resources that they need and paint it as punishing their leaders. Then we turn around and say that our wars are humanitarian efforts. Also Professor Grudem in his book notes that the Rule of Law was established to hold all governing authorities accountable, THIS INCLUDES POLICE and yet he's very disingenuous when he critiques the looters. His claim that private security leads to a police state is ludicrous. Police unions along with the government have kept individual officers from being held accountable due to a clause known as Qualified Immunity. So how can Professor Grudem even suggest that our justice system is working fine because the offers involved that killed George Floyd were bought to justice while there are thousands upon thousands of crimes like this that are committed by police officers against their own citizens? In conclusion Professor Grudem really needs to understand what blowback is and he really should distance himself from the fear porn and boogie man thinking that has not only lead us to foreign policy injustices but domestic ones as well. Once again thanks Allie for keeping the comments section opened. I'm leaving links below as sources to consider. Please be kind and patient with one another. Stay blessed all. @@michaelstuckey9282 Thanks a lot friend. I try the best I can to be intellectually honest. I don't know what your political philosophy is but I'm finding more and more that conservatism is morally bankrupt. Especially the Moral Majority movement where this all stems seems to have already effected Jerry Fallwell Jr. A great example is that conservative Christians will spend lots of time going to abortion clinics to condemn what is being done by the murder of the unborn as well as vote for someone that says that they will overturn Roe V. Wade. But they won't lift a finger to send missionaries to the ghettos where there are women with unwanted pregnancies to spend time with them, befriend them, give them the Gospel and hear their deepest need and in some cases offer financial support for them with the help of deacons that are fortunate enough to have the finances to help them to seek other options if they feel that they are not fit to be a mother. The point above was made by Keith Giles who wrote the book, 'Jesus Untangled: Crucifying Our Politics to Pledge Allegiance to the Lamb.' You can hear him on the Libertarian Christian Podcast. It was a great interview.
I find your characterization of Christians slanderous. I personally know of many Christians who support people ministering in poor communities in our nations and helping those women that feel they have no choice but to go to an abortion clinic. We are not to associate with slanderers, let alone slander our brothers and sisters. Christians nonprofits make up a majority of all nonprofits, particularly those dealing with humanitarian issues. Besides things that Trump might not have done well, he has not started or involved the US in an armed conflict in his presidency and is the first to do so in 39 years. He cannot fix in 3 years the mess that the US has made in so many more. He did end the Iran deal which gave the Iranian government money to basically attack other nations. He has brokered peace in nations that have not had peace in years. He is not perfect, but he ha done well all things considered. Conservative am might not be perfect, but it is the best we have at the moment. Also, police “brutality” by the numbers compared to the number of police interactions is low, and as long as Americans have guns, there will be more violence - it’s the price we pay for the freedom to protect ourselves. Perhaps you could listen to learn instead of just listening to critique.

GenRev1611 brother I agree with you whole heartedly. We as Christians are called upon to help these people yet we rely on our votes to elect men that will do it for us. It just doesn’t happen.
It is important for you to understand who you are. Man created in the image of God. God reveals Himself. He revealed His heart when He spoke the Ten Commandments, for from the heart the mouth speaks. God revealed His mind when He wrote His covenant with His own finger upon stone. God revealed His Soul when He made His Word flesh and sent His Son to dwell with man. Those Ten Commandments is who God is. The Father and The Son are one. Jesus is the image and likeness of The Father and you are created in their image and likeness. Jesus is The Law that hung on the cross, and The Law written upon the heart. We are in the image and likeness of God. To dwell in the Spirit of God we apply the Ten Commandments as directed in Deut. 6:8-9, Just as Jesus did when He kept His Father's law. To dwell in the love of Jesus we keep His Sermon on the Mount. We learn to live by *every Word* of God. We are free to choose if we want The Spirit, or the flesh to lead and guide us. Will we put on The Spirit of the Father and The Son to lead us into the Kingdom, or will we allow the flesh to lead us unto death? Put on the words spoken by The Father (Ten Commandments) and The Son (Sermon on the Mount), for the law and the testimony can see us through the coming days. Do you know the voice of God? Do you know you are a child of God?

His "Character Flaws" show he has no love for his neighbor! The way he speaks of those who don't agree with him, no love whatsoever, only slander. Jesus tells us to love our enemy and do good to those who hurt you, even if the majority of media outlets we're or are against him he still doesn't reflect the love of Christ or that He is in him at all. It's more than character flaws, it's unrepentant sin. He's not a believer he just sometimes tries to throw Christians "a bone" in policy. To me it seems he only serves the people who serve his agenda. The true healing of our cities comes from Jesus, comes from people who are truly changed by The Gospel. I don't believe it's tied to one specific political party, even if one makes more choices based on a Christian worldview. It's like putting a bandaid on a knife wound, the ultimate problem with our society is sin and legislation only makes it illegal, but it doesn't change the heart. Making the unrepentant live by Christian morals is nearly useless if we don't change their hearts and that only comes through their believe in Jesus. I really enjoy watching your content Allie, we may not agree on everything, but I've learned a lot from your channel and I enjoy listening to even opposing views to help me have a better understanding of people across all spectrums. God Bless you and your ministry!
So, what is the solution? His point was also that we have only 2 choices, Biden or Trump. Both have character issues, and both have policies that they have gotten behind and put forward. Those policies are either more Christ like or not. Your view of Trump’s character also seems to be based on actual slander of him by many news stations. As we cannot expect a nonChristian to act like a Christian, we need to look at the policies, and, as Allie has pointed out in her Trump v Biden episodes, Trump’s policies definitely are more in line with a Christ world view.

Dr. Kevin Brainerd's 2016 refutation of Dr. Grudem's support of Mr. Trump helped me see things in a whole new Biblical light (searchable online and probably the most Biblical assessment I've seen). Despite his credentials, accomplishments, and best intentions, brother Grudem seems mistaken in more ways than one. Why should Christians support a stronger military when Jesus says we are to love our enemies and put away the sword? If our citizenship is in a kingdom not of this world why do we involve ourselves in the wars and politics of this one? Aren't we sojourners? The churches of America's quest for political power has come at the loss of spiritual power. Our hope in political leaders and parties dilutes our hope in God and takes time from making disciples, clothing the naked, feeding the hungry. and visiting the sick and imprisoned. In the countries where Christians have little or no political power the Church is growing but it is not in America.

The powers that be are using this whole republicans vs democrats, right vs left to divide us and push their agendas. The right hand and the left hand are attached to the same “beast” all the msm FOX news,CNN,MSNBC, etc are propaganda machines. Biden and Harris are puppets for the GLOBALIST. Trump is being manipulated by the globalist. Trump is a HAMMER but the globalist are setting the nails. Idk I just don’t feel like we can fix this mess we”my father/grandfather” missed our opportunity to legally use the 2nd amendment and throw every single one of them out years ago. Now the beast has gotten too strong. We are about to be a 3rd world country I believe.
I will vote for the least globalist authoritarian in this election. That is Trump. Biden said he would mandate nationwide face masks. Imagine his stance on the vaccine!

@Desire Of All Nations do you have anyone in mind that could possibly be the president of America. One amazing great man/woman without any flaws?

Great Allie
This interview is hilarious Wayne feels afraid for his safety. While black people are being killed in their own homes. I definitely do not agree with the riots. But what actually started the riot can we talk about that? You guys are absolutely funny.
You need to watch the film UNCLE TOM.

I seriously doubt any Christians see Trump as some sort of savior; rather, we see him as a much more preferable choice than Biden.
"GOD is the ultimate independent. "- Tony Evans. The speakers talking points align more with a political party than Gods word. God doesn't need our army he can raise one up himself. Proof in point Gay marriage is still legal as well as abortion even with these appointed conservative judges.
Democrats fought to bring that to the nation...after they brought the holocaust of abortion

@@daverin08 A true believer in Christ supports Donald Trump because God called him to be our President. Therefore, loyalty to Trump is faithfulness to God. If you're not for our President, you're against God. If you do not vote to re-elect Trump, you have denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. It is tantamount to blaspheming against the Holy Spirit, and God will not forgive you. Vote for Trump and you will be prosperous and successful, you and your entire household. America is Christ's kingdom on Earth. Keep America Great!
@@patrickrobertson7979 I'm a Christian who supports Trump, but what you say here is not only unBiblical it is offensive and judgemental. I'm writing this because others may see what you say and may not know better. This kind of language spoken as if from Christ is actually offensive to Christ. You have spoken a judgement on people that Christ never did. I encourage people to read the Bible, and nowhere in there does it say any of what Patrick has said.
@@joncawthorn8201 Why would anyone want to read a religious book that's thousands of pages long, preachy and heavy-handed, and don't know where to start, just because you say so?!! A true believer would claim Scripture verses to support his belief. Since you did not quote any Scriptures, I question your claim that you're a Christian. You are no more a Christian than President Obama. A tree is judged by its fruit, not by how well the tree talks about its fruit. You are a good talker of your fruits, but you bear no fruit.
Here's proof of my fruit:
"Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit (- or lack thereof -) you will recognize them." Matt 7:19.20
"What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for Trump, who can be against Trump?" - Rom. 8:31
"Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you." - Heb. 13:17
"Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong."" - Rom 13:1-3
Supporting Trump is obedience to God. Voting for Trump is faithfulness to God. Vote to re-elect him to Keep America Great!!
p.s. you have a pretty girlfriend. Can I kiss her on the other cheek?

Trump has declared he is a good person and doesn' t need to be forgiven.
Well, that settles it - for Trump fans.
@@jpdemer5 And Nancy Pelosi said she is full of love yet supports the tearing apart of innocent babies. Again, no one is voting Trump for pastor or spiritual advisor...
I am grieved to see brother Grudem still (or again) holding this position.
"Walk by the Spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh"
(Galatians 5:16).

He never condones abortion or the normalization of sexual perversion either!
Love your podcast! But I don’t think I can vote for Trump this time around. I do not trust him and my “spidy senses” are tingling... although I support a lot of his policies and clearly he would be better than Biden I just don’t think I can vote for him....
They say” if you don’t vote you can’t complain”. I didn’t vote for the corrupt politicians before Trump. That was my parents, grandparents & great grandparents.... it will take more than a politician to fix this mess....
I’m getting a weird feeling about this Covid dna vaccine “operation warp speed” using the military to give out vaccines? Screw that...
B yes, I don’t think we know just how screwed we are. We are way past voting these problems out of office.
I will vote for the least globalist authoritarian in this election. That is Trump. Biden said he would mandate nationwide face masks. Imagine his stance on the vaccine!
Shameless I see...
