To be fair, cliffs are bad for defense too and only work if you have turrets behind them. That's because biters can make a new base, which kinda ignores collision so the new base can appear in your side of cliff and if ignored, will create enough biters to annoy you.
Reminds me of an old trick I saw used for deathworld runs. Only chunks without player-made structures were eligible for expansion. So if you made something like a 2x2 pipe arrangement on the space where four chunks meet, the options for invading your area dropped quite quickly.
I mean yeah you need to add guns but that's no different from normal walls. So cliffs are just nature's wall so I don't really see a downside. They're still good and save you tons of walls after all.
What are you talking about? Expansion parties cannot go through cliffs, so there is no way for biter bases to appear there if you have all paths properly blocked.
@@Azzinoth224 is a bug. A biter expansion can occur close enough to a cliff that half the biters nests actually spawn on the other side of the cliff. Literally one turret can prevent this though as biters won't expand when aggro'd
Also I Love Organic Chemistry, to the point it skyrocketed chemistry above physics in my high school subjects tierlist ( also radiation, which has calculus in it, if you want )
Kovarex enrichment process is not uranium enrichment. That is the normal enrichment done from the uranium ore. The game ore is a uranium lump of 99.7% U238 and 0.3% U235. In the real world you put that in a cetrifuge and you get two lumps, one of 99.999...% U238 and another with 0.30001% of U235 instead of 0.3%. In the game, it magically separates 1000 tons of the lump and gets two lumps, one with 100% U238 and another with 100% U235. The Kovarex Erichment, however, is another magical process that transforms 5 units of U238 into 2 of U238 and 1 of U235, using 40 U235 as catalyst.
3:58 "Organic chemistry sucks and i wouldn't judge anyone for avoiding chemistry just to stay away from it" Thats so true. I dropped my chem degree after two semester of organic chemistry. Couldn't handle anymore.
Thank you for prepping me for hell bc what do you mean cliff explosives are barred behind a planet and nukes are more expensive? Put the update in the trash
You can also use overheated reactors, takes wayyy less uranium
"A reactor is a poor man's nuke" is my favorite Factorio advice
...but wayyy more copper, steel and concrete

also cliffs are 100% bite and acid proof.

This was just a science lesson with factorio framing

mystery man on a watch list
...or, if you don't mind using mods, there is one called 'Minable Cliffs' that only requires the steel pickaxe research. It is slooooow, but it works.

High school organic chemistry nearly killed me
This is the type of F.U.N. Plankton was talking about 😅
I got the achievement for removing cliffs with explosives when I fired a nuke at a hive; that's when I ramped up nuke production.
hell yea show them cliffs the chemistry
I need more of your factorio videos, i like your format, but videos are so short, cant wait for a new one
4:10 oh wow, never knew 238=268
Shit
Great job on the video. How are you?
That’s a name I haven’t read in many moons. I’m doing well, quite firmly back on my bullshit. How have you been?
@24thcenturygamer I am doing good. I hope all is going good for you my friend.
And to any random stranger reading this, you have an amazing day as well!
came for factories stayed for big boom physics
Thank you Mr internet man

Literally the reason this video is months late. I had to go on a journey of self discovery to prepare myself for the pain.
Yet another banger upload ❤
0:04 is me
Thanks for guest starring
just..... use sushi please
I watched for purely educational purposes
Purely landscaping educational purposes, I’m sure.
alright, time to get some centrifuges ☢️
im corbin out
Organic Chem was the only chem I was good at :(
How does it feel to be the main character?
@@24thcenturygamer Cripplingly painful. _Please take it_
Whose ranium is it?
Haha amazing video man 😂
This whole nucleus part is unrelated to factorio
Correct
There is a youtube Serie on how nukes works from Scott Manley, quite informative
Also Fun-fact there were once plans to dig canals with nukes 💥
