There are barndoors with safaris but in general they were optional and usually on buses going to really hot climates. Barndoor specific safaris can be installed, but on something like this is usually better to leave things original imo.

I’m not exactly sure when Safaris became a viable but I believe it was after this bus was built. I have never seen a a BD23 with Safaris
