When you rip out the drywall make sure they rip the whole piece. It soaks up water like a sponge. We had a flood and ripped the drywall half way up and it was always musty. Feel better Lincoln

Hello Stephen and Amanda, Without gutters it can cause basement flooding, even if home has been around for 70 years. Our gutters weren't cleaned properly, and had to go out in the dark to stop basement flooding and remove sediment. Now I have to do some concrete resurfacing. We've had some extreme downpours too. Hopefully will get your gutters up soon. Plastic sheeting wrap at 7 mil so water cannot enter into the cracks can help. Good grief 🥺 Fresh worms will make those baby Bluejay very happy. Mama Bluejay will probably help them but you're right, as rain could have forced them out of nest. 🐦 Praying for Lincoln every day. 🙏

Funny I never got sick during Covid but I got hit with a bad cold recently that lasted more than a week (covid neg test btw) Feeling better now with each passing day. It helps to see getting sick as a cleansing/detox from which we grow stronger. I hope Lincoln gets to feeling well soon. I understand the rain problem. It has rained crazy here in East Texas in the past few weeks. My yard floods when it rains but luckily it doesn't come into the house. I do have some low areas in the yard that are keeping water and it kinda looks stagnant. I looked at the areas yesterday and it looks like its going to be a rough mosquito season this year. Hopefully the damage in the basement will be fixed quicker than they expect.

I recommend looking into your local Audubon Society or similar wildlife center that can provide medical service or advice when you encounter birds or other wildlife that might need help. My local Audubon has helped me a couple times with injured birds, sometimes they need to go to their hospital but sometimes they just need safety from predators for a little while. There may also be vets in your area that will help with wildlife. That way you and Ethan know who to call or where to go next time he finds an animal who might need help. Hmm I had that problem and I my brother put a three foot trench all around my home with fabric , goose eggs rocks and he placed white pvc pipes and made holes on the pipes only on the top service and placed the goose eggs on top of the pvc no dirt and it works like a charm. No more water issues . Dry like a bone.
Hope Lincoln is better soon! We have been through so many water damage issues and it’s scary and heartbreaking because of the restoration and remediation required! From our experience I wonder if you need French drains and sump pumps. Even with gutters If it happens once it’s possible it can happen again… we’ve been through it all🫣 I hope not for your sake!!!!! The parents actually do teach the birds to fly. We have them around our house all the time. So you can just leave them and they will be fine.
